The gist is that the CIA et al. use occultism as a convenient cover to explain away ops. Conspicuous assassination or multiple homicide? Satanic ritual sacrifice. Kidnapped children being provided to pedophile assets for blackmail purposes? Satanic ritual abuse. General accelerationist behavior as a way to make civilians feel unsafe so they're more willing to accept a security state? Satanic accelerationism. It's ALSO a useful honeypot to recruit assets and useful idiots since anyone involved is eager to incriminate themselves. It's ALSO a way to sensationalize the heinous shit they get up to to make it sound more fantastical and thus less believable.

That is not to say there isn't a contingent that actually believes in it. There is some percentage that are innocuous larping atheists; there is some percentage that are larping atheists using it to enable their very real degeneracy; there is some percentage that are true believer dumb wigger useful idiots like O9A; there is some percentage that are true believer deviants in actual positions of power; and there is some percentage that are glowniggers using it as a front. We will probably never know the reality of the demographics, but they're all present in some capacity, there is no one tidy explanation, evil for the sake of evil abounds but so does exploitative opportunism and so does edgy larping.

The actionable conclusion is that if you meet a satanist they are almost certainly a piece of shit; at best a gay retarded edgelord attracted to ideologies that enable deviance and at worst an actual true blue devil worshipping child murdering pedophile, with glowniggers occupying the space between.

Edit: I should disclaim that McGowan makes some pretty sensational claims that I nonetheless mostly believe because of my prior research into MKULTRA but it's probably a lot to take in if you're starting from zero. If you want to ease yourself in, I'd suggest watching Evidence of Revision and Conspiracy of Silence as a primer.

From what I remember there's a direct lineage from Rosicrucianism + Freemasonry -> Golden Dawn + OTO -> Thelema + Satanism, with a lot of the ideology of the former being carried over/hijacked by the latter.

Fun fact, both Crowley and LaVey were known intelligence assets in their respective times and places.

Funner fact, L. Ron Hubbard was a member of the Church of Satan prior to inventing Scientology, from which the Satanic Process Church of the Final Judgement spun off, of which Charles Manson was a member. Take that for what you will, but it's very interesting to me that a notoriously secretive religion popular among Hollywood elite both has its roots in and produces satanists.

Most satanists are cringy larpers.
The serious ones can be a problem, but even they are just foot soldiers. They don't necessarily have to be a "satanist" to be evil.
The top tier ones of course want to fuck over everyone for the sake of pleasing their god, but they are only given power by the institutions and governments that subsidize them. They are easy to fuck with otherwise.

Honestly, I don't think it matters if most “satanists” actually worship Old Scratch or not, groups like the Church of Satan truly are subversive and dangerous from a societal perspective since they explicitly act to undermine religious freedom through various stunts like demanding that their frankly vile and openly confrontational “satanic holiday displays” be treated the same as earnestly-erected nativity scenes because of “freedom of religion” for beliefs they don't even hold. The goal is obviously to force the government to basically ban religion (Christianity) in public, and if they can't do that then to prop up various left-wing causes like abortion and child grooming by trying to claim those causes are sacraments and that banning them violates their “rights.” They don't even have to believe a damn thing to make life worse for honest God-Fearing Americans, and so I say they are a problem.
