What makes American Evangelism so prone to producing all these Televangelist/Pharisee types? It's like they're grown in a lab or something.

America is the wealthiest country in the world, whose social structure is largely based on money, and it has a long history of religious tolerance. When you mash the social mobility of American moneymaking with the fact that you can just invent a religion, you get shit like Scientology and the Prosperity Gospel. What makes American Evangelism so prone to producing all these Televangelist/Pharisee types? It would be funny if it wasnt so depressing how they take advantage of the low IQ and the Desperate. The really annoying thing about the Prosperity Gospel heresy is that its so loud and it puts everyone else in a bad light.America is the wealthiest country in the world, whose social structure is largely based on money, and it has a long history of religious tolerance. Have you heard of this? Its central tenet is that you can invest money through a central figurehead, like a Prosperity Gospel megachurch preacher, so that God will reward you with a divine dividend of some kind. Usually cash. They literally promise their followers that their contributions (through what they call tithing) will return to them many times over, as if they can control what God will and will not do, and as if God cares how much money we give these parasites. Give, give, give they say, if you didn't get your reward you haven't given enough! And so on and on and on to keep the scam going, and throw in the use shyster theatrics and shill tactics to pretend they work miracles. With tax-exempt status as a Christian denomination and an enormous amount of clandestine gray-zone sinning, these freaks accumulate the wealth of the desperate for themselves and use it solely to feed Mammon. I hate them with all my soul.
are you in a muslim country? if so, you have to be more careful. I advise to get a spiritual director to guide you thru your convert yearsI think I am in hot water.
I can't rule out them taking "measures" against me, starting from verbal humiliation and intimidation to the admittedly unlikely possibility of murder.
To the point I genuinely believe that some demons may be involved with a couple of those dudes.
The only translation to be read for English speakers.the KJV is bold and impactful in it's wording.
Read Matthew 7 and 1 Timothy 6, they are good chapters to cite in order to speak out against blab it and grab it stupidity. When hundreds to thousands of people attend these auditorium churches, they don't realize the new digital sound system and all the fancy sign out front they don't need to upgrade and all the upgrades the building doesn't need are being paid for by them going to that giving kiosk - the sheep in the congregation are being robbed blind by the wolf in the pulpit and being run into deep, inescapable credit card debt and don't even realize it.Prosperity Pimps
that would be the Douay–RheimsThe only translation to be read for English speakers.
I wouldn't pray to statues or an ancient Hebrew woman who doesn't know you exist. - That's the first two Commandments.that would be the Douay–Rheims
we don't pray TO the statue, we pray INFRONT of the statue as a form of visual aid. Similar to when you have a picture of your grandma when you pray to God for her soulI wouldn't pray to statues
Jesus would not have thought her in such manner. You are going against Scripture when you say such blasphemy against The Mother Of Godan ancient Hebrew woman who doesn't know you exist
the wine has to be from grapes and the bread has to be unleavened and from wheat. Now the alcohol in the wine can be 0 (mustum) and the bread can be very low on gluten (not 0, but low enough that some countries can give it the label of "gluten free"), but it has to be from those elements, at least in the west and the latin rites. But what you also need is a competent minister (a priest consecrated by a bishop with apostolic succession), and the right intention (to consecrate the elements into the Body and Blood of Christ). If you don't have this three aspects, then you have an invalid Eucharisthow far removed from bread and wine can the communion be before it doesn’t “count”?
Really depends on the denomination. Catholics will probably be more demanding on the components of the ritual then Baptists for example. It will depend heavily on whether you believe the wine and bread literally become the blood and flesh of christ as opposed to being a representation of it.I have a really stupid and vaguely off-topic question regarding communion.
I’ve been to multiple churches where they give the option to parents for the kids to have grape juice instead of wine, and churches where if you request they’ll give grape juice instead of wine to you for communion (I know some recovered alcoholics who take that opinion), some give wafers others give bread, that kind of thing.
My stupid question is, doctrinally speaking, how far removed from bread and wine can the communion be before it doesn’t “count”? If grape juice is ok is apple juice? If idk you’re in a trench or something would a saltine cracker work? If you’re stranded on a desert island with a priest would coconut milk and nuts be ok? Or is it as simple as doing the best with what you have?
I was washing dishes and this occurred to me, genuinely what is the line with the bread and wine?
To me it’s more a dumb “featherless biped” argument than anything anyone would seriously do. I think it should be as close to bread and wine as possible, and both of those aren’t hard to find.So what is used specifically could be anything really if you drill down to the nitty gritty. The overarching question is less can you, but should you. Are there better options? Why deviate from the traditional presentation. Is there a good reason for doing so beyond thinking it would be cool to use cookies and coca cola for communion?
You don't worship Mary and yet say this? The irony is far from lost on me. I'll pray for you.Jesus would not have thought her in such manner. You are going against Scripture when you say such blasphemy against The Mother Of God
Is she not the Mother of God? Did she not birth the Christ Jesus? You don't worship Mary and yet say this? The irony is far from lost on me. I'll pray for you.
It's funny how the morally bankrupt Boomers are making Zoomer fairly religious.
