At least 50% of your food doesn't come from the US, sometimes higher. Most people have no idea how globalized food is.
its hard to overstate just how little the US contributes to the overall food distribution, and most of the US food comes from the dang central valley of California not the midwest.

Just very VERY few foods that are cheaper to grow in the US than to grow in some bumfuck nowhere place and import it. Economics just dont add up.

the debate is fuckin over, its so impossible to restart manufacturing on any level here in America you wouldn't believe.

nigga, you is retarded. if the will is there, it's not hard to restart what we were, or even better. Don't get me started on the shipbuilding Trump spoke about not even a week or two ago. The defeatist mindset is hard to overcome, i don't blame you for thinking like you do. You are just wrong, we merely need the will to make more of it happen.

Your right but its just a visual aid to show relative distribution of food variety, I know things can move but its a good baseline

Just scroll a little bit brother, I believe in you

Brother your just talking with bass in your voice cause you dont understand how chip manufacturing works

best way I could compare it is if Ford built 1 single car factory in michigan and you used that as evidence that Toyota was finished

Taiwan and to a larger extent China have spent almost have a century working TIRELESSLY AND SPENDING TRILLIONS to develop an in house entirely self sufficient chip development industry FROM FUCKING SCRATCH.

Those same people here setting up a factory for THEIR profit does not AT ALL come close to even an IOTA of the sheer manpower and SOPs those bastards have earned through 50 years of hard work and countless dollars. Its not just a matter of wanting to do it, IT TAKES TIME!

You think a skilled workforce just materializes? you think most efficient processes are just innately known?

SHEEEEIT we better start getting real good at diplomacy cause the chinks outmaneuvered us on this one and the worst part is we did it to our damn selves all for some temporary profit

Chinese “factories” are mostly shitty warehouses stuffed with desks and raw material/finished product strewn everywhere:

Modern factories like those in the US are orders of magnitude more productive, though they have higher upfront costs. China obviously has some of those (most famously the one Apple built for them to make iPhones), but automated factories can be located anywhere and don’t provide any comparative advantage for commodity goods. Chinese products are only cheap thanks to currency manipulation.
This is one of the advantages of Chinese manufacturing. They can quickly switch from one product to another. In America, factories are ‘purpose-built’ and suffer from regulatory weight. When industry trends change, the owner will sell it or leave it to rot rather than repurposing it.

I mean… couldn’t you just fly a couple dozen Taiwanese engineers over here to teach our guys? Or vice versa. It’s what the Chinese did!

speaking of witch the fucking ukies are using WORLD WAR ONE water cooled machine guns
They have been using them since the start of the war, Brandon Herrera did a whole series about odd and antique weapons being used in the Ukraine conflict.

You think a skilled workforce just materializes?
Taiwan is sending engineers to get things off the ground. It's why I keep seeing ads from Taiwan's flagship China airlines about their new flights to Phoenix, AZ because they are catering explicitly to the engineers working abroad and their families.

You completely missed the point of my post, just completely. I was responding to a guy saying it was impossible to bring back manufacturing, i posted a few things that disputed that.

You think a skilled workforce just materializes?
yeah yeah, thanks vivek, americans are just stupid and lazy and worthless. we have to import trillions of jeets because they are just smarter than us.

and to bring it back to the thread in general, here is a good post from a twitter friend.

Brother you ever hear the term "Shanghaied"?
1766764892256.png

Thats what they did to the Taiwanese and guess what, still dident work cause the fucking Taiwanese are the same kind of souless bug people that cant be intimated or browbeaten, the chinese got the intel the way they always get it, they stole it by being very sneaky lil chinks.

also while im on the topic of stealing people to get the to work for you, did yall know the mexican cartels have been kidnapping telecommunications spealists to set up a rouge telecom network in the jungles of Mexico? Shit has redundancy and everything its WILD!

Most of the things I got for Christmas were local art, restaurant vouchers, or luxury foods, so it's not just made in the USA, but made in my community.
