Parallels abound between California and Iran state governments. Both were taken over by ideologues with radical agendas in the 1970s. Both cannot maintain, let alone expand, the water supply infrastructure put in place by previous administrations to make life hospitable in a semi-arid region (Southern California and most of Iran outside of certain mountain valleys). Now, I discover that both California and Iran are proponents of transsexual surgery. Go figure.
It took me some investigation to understand the pretzel logic that would have both California and Iran coming to the same conclusion regarding castration. Apparently, Governor Gavin “French Laundry” Newsom and Ayatollah Khomeini were moved by appeals from a “woman” who said she was trapped in a man’s body. (I assume it wasn’t the same “woman”.) Now, I can understand Newsom, who is a loathsome creature who will jump on any bandwagon that will get him votes, but how do you figure the Ayatollah for being a tranny sympathizer? One might surmise that the apple falls near to the tree in this case. In Afghanistan, a neighboring state of Iran, the custom of
chai boys flourishes. The Ayatollah’s sympathies, closeted though they would be, might rest with this time-honored Middle Eastern custom. (We will never know because it was prior to the internet so we cannot attain any browser data on him.) So along with issuing a fatwa for Salman Rushdie’s murder,
Ayatollah Khomeini issued a fatwa allowing gender reassignment surgery.
) will ever appear.
