Dead by Daylight and other Asymmetric Slasher Games - Discuss the games and the autistic/entitled communities around them

Yes, but i shouldn't have to take an addon to revert a nerf they put in place to buff him that's the problem. His basic attack should be able to one tap in EW3 too.
That is the only valid criticism I think exists of the rework. I can see why some people might be upset at the lunge being replaced with an ambush, but it really was needed to give him literally anything to do at loops and chases.

Hey, guess what? The dash is the thing everyone complained about. Myers getting the extended lunge (no, a dash you need to charge up is not a lunge) and exposing everyone is what made him fun. No one that played Myers was mad about his stalking having its limit removed. Now stop pretending that nothing changed when the most important aspect of him was changed.

If the dash is the issue talk about the dash instead of claiming that myers is completely ruined and he's a completely new character that has nothign to do with the old one and his thematic is all off because they turned a 10 meter lunge into a 10 meter ambush. (Its an ambush btw not a dash).

But that does completely ruin his feel, I'm sorry you can't understand that but maybe you should try listening to people that actually played Myers before the rework.

I did play myers before the rework which is why I think people crying about it are histrionic retards. Instead of a lunge activated by m1 you have a lunge activate by m2. Oh the horror.

They sent out an email announcing the 10 year anniversary merch. It mentioned one item being a "working replica flashlight". How incredibly novel, imagine if you could get something like that at a store.

The only thing that was actually removed from the game was tombstone myers, if you're missing the instant "i win" button just come out and say so.
Tombstone Myers was weak as hell actually, it was just fun and unique.

The rework just feels like a much shittier version of Oni. Slaughtering Strike doesn't feel fun and it doesn't fit him thematically either.

I only just realized this now because I haven't played in ages, and when I watch some streams they're running slow down because of course they are.

New Myers doesn't even synergize with arguably his best perk anymore, STBFL. Sure it's seen a nerf, but everyone exposed meant your M1 was your insta down. So STBFL let you recover and keep on chugging faster unless they for some reason made it not. Now it doesn't because it's a killer power attack.

So it looks like Susie is getting a bit of focus as the face of the Legion in the 10th anniversary art which makes me happy. The Collectors Box they are showing has her as a pin and as a trading card. I like the statue with the Huntress as she was my favorite Killer when I had first started playing the Game. However I'm not going to buy it as the space in my Apartment is limited, and I don't like giving Behaviour money.
If they make more DBD Nendoroids I might get them though, but the only one they've ever done is the Trapper.

Tried some different killers after 2v8 ended (since 1v4 solo queue survivor sucks shit and none of my buddies play DbD nowadays), immediately after a match where I 4Ked as Oni my internet started going to utter shit and stayed that way for around a week, ruined a couple game nights with friends as a result.
Guess that's the first time I've ever been DDoSed over a video game, so I'm just gonna play other shit until another 2v8 release.

The game isn't P2P anymore, so it's most likely just a coincidence. A simple router restart to change the IP would have fixed it if it was a DDOS.

I heard rumour that people still found ways of grabbing IPs despite no longer being P2P (I wouldn't be shocked with how shit BHVR is at coding). It was just odd having my internet consistently freak out in a spectacular fashion over a prolonged period, never had that sort of issue before with my internet. Didn't have any reports of issues in my area from my ISP either.
And true, could've changed the IP with a router restart (thankfully no longer a fixed address), but the whole experience left a rotten taste in my mouth.

Also survivors getting insanely asshurt in the event when I dropped the goofiness after shit like sabos in my face. Everyone else gets points, stupid shenanigans, and a merry Christmas from me, the (at the time) drunk as fuck Wraith. Being a cunt still gets you tunnelled out by me though.

I've been ddossed a couple times during/immediately after good killer matches (my internet rarely goes out on its own normally). None of them have been recent though it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that bhvr fucked it up and you can still pull peoples ips. (I don't know if that is the case or not.)

Phew! I finally finished going through the entire Thread from the beginning to here. I was able to speedrun the last of the Thread since I take all my vacation time from work at Christmas. I made sure to give reactions (as many positive as possible) to every single post.
Along the way I wanted to double check where Bruno had done his last post here, and where/when it was found that he had committed suicide. The last post of his I could find (In this thread at least.) was this one (replying to someone about the Devs). Which was from September 13th 2025
His profile says he was last seen on September the 14th though. And I see he posted a trailer for a Game called "Darkenstein 3D" in a different thread on that day.
The grieving thread for him was posted on September 27th. So for whatever reason he decided to commit suicide during that time-frame, and had sent the creator of that thread his "manifesto". I'm just curious what exactly drove him over the edge, and when exactly he did it? It looks like there wasn't an obituary or anything so I'm still wondering if he's actually truly dead or not, as I see people in that thread saying he maybe just left the internet.
I just wanted to mention all that since he started this Thread, and was massively involved in it to a much greater degree than I had realized until I started going through the whole thing.

or anything so I'm still wondering if he's actually truly dead or not, as I see people in that thread saying he maybe just left the internet.
I talked to Bruno relatively often. His discord and his alt are inactive in the few mutual servers we're in. Haven't had any DM's since before his manifesto. In any and all lines of communication I have with him, he's dead, but hey, here's his steam. Last online over a year ago.

Overwatch has had a prop hunt christmas themed event and it seems the DBD mind virus has spread even there. How the mode works is that one team are the hunters, one team are prey disguised as props. At the core the prey are supposed to be helpless, only able to run away by utilizing disguises. They have a stun ability which helps them relocate if found out, but that's it. As the round went on the prey would start saying voice lines to force them to do something instead of just being AFK in a cheese spot.

Recently they have updated the game mode so:
- stun ability radius has been doubled
- prey have received an ultimate ability which gives them a weapon and reduces dmg taken
- prey can now manually trigger the voice lines and this charges their ultimate

Naturally the game mode devolved into the prey becoming the hunters. Why even bother hiding with these buffs? The current meta is to just go into corner of the map so voice line detection radius is as far from the hunter spawn, then spamming it to charge your ult. And no, if you instantly go there as hunter you're just gonna be stun-locked, then either you're dead or they're gone after your 8 seconds long stun wears out. If even one of the prey charges their ult then he can wipe out the whole hunter team lol. This is such a disaster. It seems no matter who develops the asymmetrical mode or game it's bound to be ruined into some bullshit esports balancing where everyone has to be on the same level.

And you still get the same retards as in DBD who cry about killers not being total pushovers: "ummm you're just mad they can fight back... you just want to power trip!"

This is ok because it makes the matches fair or something. I uninstalled DBD only to be met with DBD retardation once again in another game.

Unironically, the best balanced game I've seen in the genre was the original release of Evolve. The monster started off with a disadvantage, but ramped up as they completed their goals until they were way stronger than the hunters. They were still capable of winning even at level 1, but you had to be really good to do it, and your main goal was to power up first. The characters were all unique, I still hold the kits from that game in high regard. There were drop ship conversations set up for basically every combination of character you could have, and it made everyone feel so much more alive than even many games today do.

When stage 2 released, they did the same as many devs for these games do, they saw that the game was losing people over time (normal), and thought "Oh shit, we need to hyperbuff the side with more players!". Every hunter could now do the trapper's job, trivializing catching the monster. Supports lost an ability designed for the team to sneak up on the monster, and instead were given a team-wide shield, as they didn't want anyone thinking about what to do, just rush in and do it. All of the hunters were given stronger jetpacks, and they were also given passive health regeneration if not being actively attacked, making protecting the medic a much lower priority. It went from a game about trying to outsmart and hunt for a monster, to one about "how quickly can we burst this thing down?".

Game also had another problem; they were overly greedy, and that helped fuck them in the long run. Expensive base game, plus expensive DLC. Characters locked behind real world money. In Stage 2 the game went free to play, they were trying to convert it to the same "oh, you can earn the currency to buy all the things!" model. When that didn't make them instant billionaires, they unceremoniously dropped it like a rock.

I remember when they fucked up regional pricing and you could get Evolve pre-orders for like a dollar from resellers. This was definitely a bad start for the game and might have been why they got so greedy afterwards. I did get a cheap copy, too but my PC was too shit so I never properly experienced what the game had to offer.
