The modern hero is an alcoholic police officer who patrols a beat and only goes after criminals who hurt people he personally likes, but otherwise turns a blind eye. The classic hero is a loyal servant chosen by a god to go on a quest to do something like slay a monster or find an artifact, and will fight to protect anyone they find from harm along the way even if it would personally cost them. The modern hero lacks selflessness, duty, and chivalry and are instead just the lesser of two evils.
