Somalis have an average IQ of 65, they're not capable of organizing or carrying out a five billion dollars fraud.
I can virtually guarantee that once this is all unraveled the ringleaders will be a small group of Jews and CNN will report it as "58 year old white man indicted in Minnesota fraud case" even though the guy's name is Hershell Yekem Josef Steinberg Rosenfeld Shekelstein.
Won't happen. Ilhan "Brotherfucker" Omar is apparently directly implicated -- she wrote the bill they were abusing to steal the money, and was heavily involved with every identified location so far -- which means this was DNC approved and which means shit gets shut down before it goes that far. Although it would be amusing if the DNC let one of the darlings of the squad or whatever they're calling their retard ethnic commie girlboss brand this week be tossed out of the country because of it, like a lizard discarding it's tail to run away.
AI has genuinely useful applications but its capabilities are being overstated for financial reasons. There is a bubble and RAM pricing crisis around it right now. Money to be made and to be lost depending on where you look.
Its rise has made it more difficult upgrade a computer at the very least, as far as your wallet is concerned anyway.
It gets far worse than that when you realize the firms like Nvidia, OpenAI, and AMD are actually fraudulently counterfeiting money by setting up these giant circular contracts without letting them ever come to term. "I agree to invest 6 billion in you, ok I agree to buy 6 billion of your stock with that money, ok I agree to use that 6 billion in stock purchases you just made to invest in you, ok I'm using that 6 billion investment to build this new building..." Well good job you just did 24 billion in transactions on paper and actually spent and raised... 0.00 USD because all of those contracts are still pending. And this works as long as you keep the plates spinning. Once they stop, well, game fucking over. Fortunately for us it's not like the rest of the industry is literally burning bridges to get on the money train before it crashes while entire governments and economies are scrambling to get front cabin seats on the trai... oh wait.
Shit.
The thing is, if AGI works. IF they get actual thinking computers, that's the kind of calendar defining event. We'll talk about things in BA and AA terms -- Before AGI, After AGI. Because AGI, a mind that can actually think / reason / create / remember / etc, something that is artificially generally intelligent, on par with a human, is a complete sea change in our civilization. Or the end of life on Earth.
Without nerding out too much, say you actually get a working AGI. Ok, well, you no longer need anyone who can do their jobs via email, zoom, teams, etc. Coding, customer support, administration, HR... gone overnight. Because if you can make one AGI you can make a billion. Give them a robot body or other telepresence capability, and suddenly that's every retail employee, every backroom employee, every truck driver, every orchard worker, etc. China? India? Overnight they're no longer important on the world stage.
And that's not even considering if you take one of these hypothetical AGIs -- who never need to sleep, never get bored, who can instantly look up anything online and communicate with each other at the speed of light -- and put it to task making better AGIs or better computers. That's when it gets ~fucky~ because suddenly you'd see them making insane leaps and bounds in computer and AI tech. (This is a nerd term called "The Singularity" and is kind of like the Rapture for Techbros.)
It's the culmination of both the techbro dream of never needing icky humans for anything ever again AND the marxist dream of the free shit fairy. And I'm guessing there's something behind the scenes that's leading basically the entire world -- All of the tech companies, every government, etc -- towards chasing this particular dragon like mad. Yes, it's a bubble. Yes, there's infinite money. Yes, they're probably desperate to not let it pop and end up destroying every economy and government on Earth overnight.
But that doesn't explain it. China, for example, would be better served stepping back and letting the West crash and burn over this and they'd be able to pick up the pieces. They're not. Makes me think there's something there, something they can all see behind the scenes that we don't, that making them all desperate to be the first ones across the finish line, come hell or high water.
I've heard it say that tech we see is at least 10 years out of date compared to the really good stuff we don't hear about, either in labs, or being retained by the government, or what have you. That used to be an impressive number. 10 years in AI tech is something entirely different.
