Unpopular opinions about food

I like craft beer.

But craft brewers need to realize that not every beer has to be a bloody hazy IPA or some ridiculous flavoured sour beer monstrosity.
It makes wanting to try new beers difficult when 80% of any craft beer section of a store is IPA or Sour, and breweries or brewpub has the same percentage of IPAs and sours. I just want a nice pairing with whatever I'm cooking, not trying to choke down the flavor of vomit or dishsoap.

My problem with IPAs is when brewers decide to have a pissing contest with each other, over who can make the hoppiest beer possible.

Rather than something that you know, can actually drink and doesn't taste like mouthwash with hops.

It's the same with sours. It's a competition to see who can make the most sour, undrinkable beer. Contrast that with lambics or Flanders red ales which, while sour, have that sweetness to balance it out and make it drinkable.

I went to a local pub a few weeks ago, and they had an avocado sour beer on tap.

Just the thought of having to drink it makes me feel sick.

I guess my unpopular opinion is I kind of like the sour bullshit. I just hate all the faggotry these companies seem to engage in with their names and art and pricing, the only good one (that doesn't cost £9+ a pint) in my local pub is called beavertown neck oil and it comes in the gayest glass ever

It's basically the beer equivalent of ultra-hot sauces that make whatever you put them on inedible. I'm fond of all these things, like IPAs and sours and very hot sauces, but if they bring nothing but a single flavor to the table that absolutely obliterates every other flavor, why? Why do this to yourself?

wow thats racist against blacks and other nigger.

I have the opposite experience. Often these will get devoured so quickly many people won't even get one.

I have to admit to the food crime of liking them with Miracle Whip.
I like them with a blend of Kewpie mayo and sour cream. Not sure where that sits on the food crime scale though.

Looks like piss. And what kind of cup is that?

Thread tax: sour cream goes well with some foods. I had it with turkey and some salt, it wasn't bad.

Nothing involving Kewpie can possibly be a crime. It probably is a superior way of bringing the same tartness to the mayo flavor as Miracle Whip.
I don't like hot chocolate, period. Something about the chocolate they use is just...bleh. Maybe it's because it's powdered like Ovaltine? I love chocolate otherwise.
Ever tried Mexican or Aztec style? I like Abuelita. The kind where you dissolve a tablet of actual chocolate in (preferably whole) milk is generally good. Ultra-dark and unsweetened and mildly frothed is also good imo.

Do opinions about equipment count? If so, Pyrex measuring juge are shit and I don't understand why people seem to love them. They are inaccurate because the thick glass adds a lot of parallax error. They're heavy, fragile and they pour much worse than one with thinner walls and a sharper spout.

If I ever come across that, I'll give it a try. Thanks!
I pretty often make cocoa as they described for the lady.

Use a double boiler (A big bowl in a pot of water) to melt milk chocolate niblets on a low heat. Use your final mug to measure the amount of milk you need. Keep stirring so the chocolate stays in suspense. Splash of vanilla and/or maple syrup if you take it, stir again, done. Leave some headspace in your mug so you can shake up your milk and add a milk foam top. Balance some cinnamon on the foam so you don't sugar crash as hard after you drink it.

Takes about five-ten minutes and running the oven helps heat the house.

The IPA wank contest is real. I live in a fairly poor part of the US and your beer choices are macrobrew and this insane hipster bullshit that surely nobody buys. Makes me wish I was back home and could pick up four pint-cans of Hobgoblin for a fiver again. I vill never drink the sourslop and I generally understand why US friends were never beer enjoyers now. Just make your own tipple in a 5gal bucket in your garage; it's cheaper and with exception, probably going to be better. Especially if you're at the point where your preferred drink comes in plastic bottles.

Canned clams seem to be unpopular. But I like to eat them as they are with black pepper and white vinegar. Instant mental depiction of a gray, cloudy Skegness promenade, with a light drizzle of rain. Instant homesickness killer.
