The EUs position on the war in Ukraine is fucking retarded. There is zero prospect of Ukraine full pushing Russia out of its territory like they want, yet they refuse any negotiated peace deal. Is the EU seriously willing to start a world war over Ukraine?

I just genuinely dont know what they want. It seems they just want the meat grinder to continue.

They wholeheartedly believe in their own superiority over everyone else and their victory in the cold war has only driven that belief to it's utmost absolute height. They genuinely think they cannot lose. They're the good guys, good guys never lose! Even if the war ends with a decisive victory for Russia they will still find ways to cope that they ended up winning anyway because the moment they admit they're not omnipotent like they thought they were for 30 years that crash down to earth is going to hurt hard, so hard in fact that it may cause irreparable damage to their society as a whole, and they're not in the least ready for anything close to that.

"The EU" is a couple of hundred maybe a couple of thousand globalists who believe themselves untouchable even in the event of a world war. And just look at the prior wars. There's always profiteers. So it doesn't matter if the position doesn't make sense from a Eurocentric view because this is basically a stateless caste that doesn't have a real home. Of course some of them are delusional and they'd end up fucked just as everyone else but as bad as it is I doubt someone like von der Leyen will ever be held accountable as long as she plays the game of her people.

The masses are brainwashed into believing all this moral nonsense about democracy and values and the elites are evil puppets.

Why not use time-variable production methods to pump water into reservoirs when you have the power to do so (in the daytime for solar, for example), and then use that water to spin hydroelectric turbines at a consistent rate around the clock?

For what it's worth, Putin did recently go on record to publicly disavow replacement migration as a concept.
Probably because, while being an old-school commie imperialist, he's pragmatic enough to see when shit just doesn't work in reality.
I'm no fan of the man, myself. But to fear him is redundant, and to hate him, counterproductive, cosidering my views and preferences.
 
The news are pretty frantic right now. Trump is giving them until Thursday to sign the negotiate the treaty. But we've had ultimatums like this before.

Apparently Zelensky is preparing his nation for the hardest decision in the history of Ukraine lmao. Quote: "We either lose our dignity or an important partner."

Probably just crocodile tears to make Trump fold but who knows. Maybe it really is that serious.

What your describing is Pumped-storage hydroelectricity and it does exist, many stations around the world, one which I know of is Dinorwig Power Station down in Wales.

I wanna believe, but one side of me itches that this could just be another Minsk agreement which the US/EU will just break again in the future (unless they gave Russia some big guarantees under the table). But I'm still cautiously optimistic.

I think Zelya and his gang will fuck this up (of course-when haven't they?), and then Trump will throw up his hands and say "Well I tried, but the Ukrainians were hard to work with" (or something along those lines) and just let Russia do the needful (maybe there will be back channel agreements we may never hear about but our children/grandchildren will; the exact details of the Cuban Missile Crisis agreements between JKF and Khrushchev didn't come out until 2001, iirc). I do think the end is coming sooner than later, this Zelya admitting they can't sustain a war without American support.

It is another Minsk agreement and if Putin goes along with it within a week Ukraine will do something to provoke a Russian military response and then the usual suspects will scream that Russia broke the deal. If I can see this coming a mile away why can't Putin?

Maybe, but in addition to all the territorial and neutrality demands, I would also demand Zelensky hand over his rifle. Why deal with that kind of symbology? Since we have photographs and livestreaming video, it would clearly communicate that Ukraine lost the war and MSM can't spin it.

Z-man will meet with Trump and together they will announce an agreement to the proposal, shaking hands in front of the cameras.
The very next day Z-man changes his mind giving a live, fierce press conference where he walks everything back and declare that they refuse this agreement, instead he proposes a different agreement that is basically unconditional surrender by russia. He also asks EU for more money.

That is what will happen?

The important part is that the war must not end. It needs to continue for another 17 years.
If the war in afghanistan could go on for 20 years there is no reason this war can't.
And european taxpayers can continue to pay for it.
 
I don't want to add a rainbow to the post and I'm deeply surprised that it only has the one so far. Seems to be vastly outpaced by the Informatives. But I guess that is a result of it appearing in the US politics thread. I'd like to see a lasting peace result from this but my first instinct was that regardless of what the position of "NATO" is or isn't, the EU and Bongland will rush its own troops into Ukraine on the basis that they're not "NATO". And that point was raised in the footnote on #8 when I got to it. The next thing I thought was the question of sanctions and I see Trump very sensibly is trying to end that mess. Sensibly because it's hurting Europe as much as Russia and because restored trade is the best hope for re-establishing normal relations. So good there. But then we come to all the parts about frozen funds and that honestly feels like an insult to Russia. "We're losing the war but we're going to keep your money that we stole and direct it to the people you were fighting." Maybe Putin would go along with that for some strategic concessions in return but... I don't see so much of those in this.

I give Trump a C+ for effort and an A for brazen cheek. But unfortunately this is a group project and even if Mr. Trump turned in his part of it, his partners in the EU and UK will bring things down.

We'll see, I guess. I wont rule out some peace deal happening soon, but I don't think this is its final form. Russia's goals were not originally territorial and Putin probably still has the original goals in mind. If this meets them and it kind of does... then maybe he'll negotiate on this as a starting point. But I would imagine by this point the rest of the Russian govt. will be saying "in for a penny, in for a pound." Or in for a Kopeck, in for a Ruble, whatever the Russian equivalent is. I don't think they'll settle for this.
