Because if you actually played Morrowind you'd understand there was ways to fast travel in that game they just involved learning how the world worked. Skyrim removed teleportation magic and only has the carraiges as fast travel vendors which don't exist in sevral areas including some they drop you off at.I don't understand why people care so much about fast travel when they, themselves, could just not use it if they don't like it.
While not video games, I feel this way about Warhammer 40,000. Even as far back as 2006 the community had been poisoned by arguments over "meta". And that was before the online discourse had devolved into bringing up the same lore drama (femstodes), slap fights over balance, an obsession with tournament spec terrain, and quarterly balance updates.I hate that competifag culture has ruined basically all FPS games' unranked modes and turned the experience into an angry isolation chamber.
ok what game prompted thisGive me top hats, but combo memorization and having core game mechanics suddenly not work can fuck right off.
When a boss is "perfectly parry these 5 hit combos and maybe we'll let you do one or two hits of chip damage, also your attacks and special moves don't work" then I'm tempted to just throw my hands up and quit.
Likewise "attacks are either high or low so dodge high or low". What about this mid attack? Take a wild guess and try to figure out if you're getting the direction wrong, getting the timing wrong, or there's no avoiding it at all.
But combos and special moves are a problem. It's just memorization. What's more, executing them can be inconsistent. Again, when it doesn't work, I don't know if I'm a ham fisted retard who can't time button presses, a forgetful retard that got them wrong, or it just doesn't work on this particular enemy.
My post was about combat as a whole not just strength:I did, you had claimed gothic had the superior idea of a strength mechanic to determine damage.
Here it is again. I then called you a retard because, Morrowind has a strength stat, which, get this, determines damage...

Just a recap because I very clearly showed I read your post and made it very clear you're retarded. "kek"
If you don't know how the system works and so you criticize it based on your misunderstanding then yeah you'll miss, but as I've gone over multiple times you should basically never miss becuase misses are skill based.
But you could also train yourself from untrained to mastery which made your character more skilled at using the weapon. This allowed you to extend combos, increased your crit chance and made the weapon overall less clunky to use.

We are in a surge of coop games. The "hoard shooter" (fake genre title) has tons of good entries coming out all the time. The most popular games at the moment are titles like repo and peak which may come across as goofy streamer bait but are actually mechanically rich focused gamesI miss co-op.
I think what it comes down to is that if hitting is actually determined by RNG, don't make me play an action game on top of it. Pick a lane and stay in it.Dodging and blocking is handled like in every other action rpg...Hit chance RNG based systems are just inherently not fun.
In Morrowind stamina runs out just jogging places, depletes after 4-5 attacks, and takes full minutes to regen unless you're chugging potions or spamming restoration spells. Any mechanic that forces you to just stand there and do nothing in a game sucks ass and is boring. It's infuriating dying to a rat that you could one-shot if only a single one of your 50+ attacks hit it and that turns a lot of people off of the game. Miss mechanics have been ripped out of most RPGs because they're universally annoying and make you feel like shit.Ver archivo adjunto 8126088
He has no stamina that's a 50% chance to miss at base, he probably doesn't have the long blade skill or the warrior sign and he's spamming light attacks. Of course he's going to miss. This is what I'm talking about, people misrepresent the system and then it becomes a meme that you're always missing your attacks because people don't know how to play the game. If you play Morrowind correctly you will almost never miss.
One of my fondest memories as a kid in the 90s was putting Linux on my dad's old work laptop so I could run ZSNES with a filter at full speed (couldn't do it in Windows). Chrono Trigger, Mega Man X, all the FF games, tons of other games at my fingertips and the best part is I could play them on car rides. Jagged pixels and aliasing have always hurt my eyes and smoothing filters did a lot to alleviate it. I'm with you on the scanlines thing, it's artificial as hell and outs people as spergs who never experienced the real thing on CRT screens.I love emulation shaders that make old games look less pixelated (SuperSai, SuperEagle for example). I've been emulating stuff for a very long time and always have some form of smoothing on. On the other hand i think scanlines are a joke and don't know why anyone would ever have that shit enabled. Having grown up NES-on-CRT it looks nothing like the real thing is supposed to be.

I had the same problem with Dying Light: The Beast recently. The combat would've been a lot better if they reduced stamina consumption by 50%. You run out of breath after killing a single zombie and then you have to wait a few seconds for the bar to refill. It's not that the game is difficult, it's just that it's an ACTION game and the stamina system prevents you from doing cool shit.In Morrowind stamina runs out just jogging places, depletes after 4-5 attacks

I beg your pardon. Daggerfall was actually kinda fun.Anyway, don't give a fuck about any Elder Scrolls game, they're all shit.
I think there’s in general a growing clique of pseuds that think gaming peaked with the greatest hits of the ps2 era and nothing outside that list is worth playing. like morrowinds no. 1 fan over here.
I hate those people.
I wouldnt even put Morrowind in a top 20. I'm just pointing out that if you miss your attacks in Morrowind it's your fault and you're playing the game wrong.I think there’s in general a growing clique of pseuds that think gaming peaked with the greatest hits of the ps2 era and nothing outside that list is worth playing. like morrowinds no. 1 fan over here.
You really don't read posts, do you?Because if you actually played Morrowind you'd understand there was ways to fast travel in that game they just involved learning how the world worked.
the fact that you offend the PS2 lineup by lumping morrowind with it is DISGUSTANG.I think there’s in general a growing clique of pseuds that think gaming peaked with the greatest hits of the ps2 era and nothing outside that list is worth playing. like morrowinds no. 1 fan over here.

It really gets old. I don't even hate New Vegas or Morrowind but people act like they're masterpieces today when, at best, they were just good for their time.I think there’s in general a growing clique of pseuds that think gaming peaked with the greatest hits of the ps2 era and nothing outside that list is worth playing. like morrowinds no. 1 fan over here.

It literally isn’t. Even under perfect conditions when you have 125% hit chance (maxed out weapons plus no fatigue *1,25 mult) you can still miss because evasion exists.I wouldnt even put Morrowind in a top 20. I'm just pointing out that if you miss your attacks in Morrowind it's your fault and you're playing the game wrong.
