The simple solution is for businesses to round to the nearest nickel.
Some companies are doing this but it's apparently costing a fair amount of money over thousands of transactions. For example, a convenience store chain said it has been rounding down (they can't round up because there are laws in a number of states and cities against it) every cash transaction to the nearest nickel. That's expected to cost the company roughly $3 million this year.
I’m honestly tired of coin change. I’d be fine rounding everything to the nearest dollar.
