I know I'm a little late on this but that tweet Trump sent out about being the most persecuted politician or whatever sent twitter hacks completely insane. There were so many people posting about Lincoln or JFK I think I even saw Ghandi once and the comment was always "HMM WELL ACKSHUALLY DRUMPF WHAT ABOUT THIS SAINT LIKE POLITICIAN WHO YOU WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS BTW". I swear they fucking deliberately ignored the fact Trump was obviously exaggerating and referring to persecution by the US media and not fucking assassins or whatever.

Fucking journalists on twitter are the equivalent of that dweeby kid in school who'd ruin a good joke by pointing out its not factually accurate. I even saw some moron post about how a Roman emperor got imprisoned and tortured or something so therefore Trump was BTFO and also a moron for not knowing history.

Sorry for going off on one but it really fucking pisses me off when people take figurative or exaggerated statements and treat them as if they were proclaimed as some sort of holy truth.

Worst part is how unbelievably inept it makes you burgers look to the rest of the world. If the hysteria about Russia is true it wold not only imply that the United States has less political power projection capabilities than an old HIV positive bear addicted to krokodil, but also that your various intelligence agencies are more than useless. If I was a neutral fence sitting country, I'd consider my chances as a Russian partner rather than an American one.

And the hell of it is, rather than investigating if it was Russia and if they were trying to influence the campaign, they're wasting their time trying to connect Trump to the whole thing.

I can buy an investigation regarding Russia, someone had to have hacked the DNC after all, but this whole thing with Trump has turned it into a wild goose chase and completely shifted the focus on it; they're less concerned about Russia's involvement than they are with Trump's, not realizing how dumb it's making them look.

For me it's funny because Democrats have been (rightfully) mocking the Republican party over the Clinton impeachment disaster since the 90's but now they're doing the exact same thing. Wasting tons of taxpayer money on investigations that aren't going anywhere, making themselves look like unhinged lunatics to the public, and rapidly burning any political capital they might have left.
