The Tumblr Files - Official Thread - An exposé on the media and people that destroyed the Internet

I have no doubt in my mind that Shmorky had an influence behind the scenes, even if he never got to make anything himself. He was a goon, IJQ was a goon, put two and two together, alongside Shmorky wanting to colab with Rebecca on something, and Shmorky being credited with creating what we now call "the Cal Arts style", and all of a sudden a lot of stuff begins to make sense.
Ver archivo adjunto 8039858Ver archivo adjunto 8039859

I just wish I could find an archive of the Something Sensitive thread Amanda contributed to. Those quotes from EZ PZ's video are all we have atm.
IIRC Shmorky even nearly got his own show but he couldn't stop himself from making it all weird gender shit upfront.
If he bluffed like Rebecca and pitched "Wizzy the Wizzard" as a normal show he'd 100% have been able to get all of his awful fetish shit on air.

I cannot stress this enough: Disney firing Lasseter was one of the worst things they ever did in recent memory. Disney pretty much became a sequel and remake factory (with a few exceptions) after they got rid of him.
Lasseter was fired because he was in the way, it's very obvious the #MeToo allegation was bullshit. Quoting myself:

We don't exactly have proof Lasseter is actually a sex-pest, we just have "words" from some anonymous female animators ("animators" most likely) that never got followed up on because #BelieveAllWomen. He comes off more of a guy who really likes giving hugs to his bros but didn't realize the political-gender landscape got bad because he's an awkward doofus. If he was legit such a creep towards women, a long-time woman-friend of his wouldn't have hired him onto Skydance Animation, and he potentially could've also gone through a divorce if it was indeed true (they married in 1988 and have five sons together, adultery in that kind of long-term relationship is almost-always a death knell). Remember that Jim Cummings got #MeTooed by his ex who was proven to be a complete nutjob who wanted more money and he won his case against her. Lasseter getting a divorce would be widely reported on in the animation clique, and oh yes, his wife would definitely be able to clean him out.

So, on an unassuming night like tonight, @Coolio55 pings me, putting me up to the task of researching a few people that Toby's in cahoots with. One of which is Pauli M. Kohberger, an artist and illustrator:

(Archive)
Coolio thinks this guy might be Andrew Hussie in disguise, but I really don't buy it. He has a different hairline, for example. I didn't think much of it at first, given he's not credited on Undertale, but it didn't take long for me to start finding some major breadcrumbs. Not even an hour into my research, my jaw hit the floor:
1760666513903.png
(Oh, ok. So Toby credited his character as inspiration and not the guy who made him. That's odd.)

So, who is Bob Sparker? Aside from being one of Pauli's OCs?
1760666560541.png

1760666600345.png
(Ok...)

WAIT, WHAT!?
1760666622142.png
For anyone who's forgotten:
1760666687268.png 1760666804196.png
So, you're telling me that, somehow, someway, Treasure's popularity amongst the Tumblr retro game crowd did in fact influence Undertale in some way aside from that reference to Melon Bread in one of the secret lab fights? SuperYoshi's probably gonna get a kick out of that. kek
(Please read Case II.)

To add further fuel to the fire, Pauli also worked on a Taito-themed Zine last year with other artists, including Jonathan Kim / Personasama (who was the cover artist). One of the guys who was in favor of ousting Mike Z from the Skullgirls team. Zerochan/Gaming.Moe is the one selling the zine, and is another person I feel I'm gonna have to do a small write-up on at some point in the future.

On the other side of the coin, you have Anna Anthropy, a troon indie dev who made games like Mighty Jill Off and Lesbian Spider Queens from Mars. While I'm gonna have to do research on him at some point, what I forgot to mention after responding to Coolio is this:
1760667034561.png

MARIEL "BACKSTABBED MIKE Z" CARTWRIGHT WORKED ON LSQFM. You look at the artwork in that game, that's clearly her style.

Anyway, I need to get back to working on Case IV, soon. Make of all this what you will.

I'd just like to clarify a few things: I didn't think that this guy was Hussie, I just found some very interesting information while looking up the creepy losers that Toby collaborated with for UNDERTAlE. (IE. Everyone who wasn't Temmie)
My main thoughts were "How does Toby know about this random small blog?" and "Why is he following somethibg that's half links to disturbing violent porn fiction?".
When UNDERTALE was in development, he had collectively posted a miniscule amount of content about the guy who would inspire Mettaton. Technically possible for Toby to be inspired by but very odd.
Another odd thing was that this link blog was extremely well connected in the indie game/journo sphere, doing direct collabs with Anthropy and his abuse victim. They were openly friends.
It's also worth mentioning that the nabstablook fight uses a font by Anthropy but that's a much easier mistake to innocuously make.

Anyway, here's the archived pages from the electricopolis blog in the early 2010s and the linked blog/livejournal of Anthropy's abuse victim:

Getting banned for foisting his mpreg fetish on others, hard links to troon pedophiles and sex offenders, it all brings the Noelle rape controversy into a new light. Deltarune fans on the right of the political spectrum have this wacky fantasy that Toby Fox is secretly based and hates his EPI enthusiast tranny fanbase in the West, responsible for more grooming than the American Kennel Club, but it's always been pretty obvious that this guy is a freak.

As for the links to Mariel Cartwright and other subversives in the indie sphere, which I think I've seen mentioned before, I can only say that it makes sense.

Temmie Chang and Tiffany Liao, AKA OMOCAT, are long-time friends and business partners of Jasmin "Archeia" Toral, who worked on Omori and Temmie's game nobody cares about, and before that was the chief member of TouchFuzzy / Nicholas Adam Palmer's secret RPG Maker mafia, "VisuStella." As employees of RPG Maker's western publisher, Degica/KOMODO, Toral, Palmer and the others raped fans with paid, obcured plug-ins they made using insider information during the development of RMMZ, against the wishes and financial interests of Enterbrain/GotchaGotchaGames, the Japanese developer of RPG Maker and subsidiary of Kadokawa. VisuStella also destroyed the IP with shitty cash grabs like Visual Novel Maker, tricking people into thinking it was from the real creators of the RPG Maker engine and not some greedy pieces of shit abusing their roles as employees of its publisher. And their jobs didn't even include localization or programming in any way, Nick was just the community manager, AKA head jannie on the forum, and Archeia was his crony he brought on.

Toral and Palmer got so bad, to the point they were threatening employees of GotchaGotchaGames, that the old Japanese businessmen over at Kadokawa had to personally step in and end their company's decades long relationship with KOMODO. Think about how insane that is. And that's all to say nothing of the way Palmer and Toral bullied members of the community, just innocent fans of RPG Maker, for years and years simply because they could.

If you want to know why RPG Maker isn't a fraction as popular as it was back in the 00s, and consequently why indie games are harder for the layman to get into, it's because of Archeia and the other people in Toby Fox's social circle.

So his OC Donut steal is basically Bob Barker with a long nose hosting a version of Shop til you Drop where people get electrocuted.
Actually his game show idea isn't even something new, in the early 2000s there was a game show where people were tied to a chair and get tortured for money. It lasted an exact total of 3 episodes before they got sued and the show got shut down.

I don't think that anyone's trying to say that, just that it's remarkable that toby made something that resonated with people and wasn't filled with instantly dated topics.

Fuck the western RPG Maker staff. I remember all the insane garbage they'd post on the official blog.
I'll contest your last point though. People stopped using RPG Maker because it doesn't offer anything that can't be easily surpassed in a general purpose 2d engine ...and its battle system has always been really fucking bad.

Mariel Cartwright and other subversives in the indie sphere, which I think I've seen mentioned before, I can only say that it makes sense.
I don't think that Mariel her similars are specifically subversives, they are product of hedonism bought by privilege and unsupervised access to the internet, in the case of Mariel she became an hypersexual deviant edgelord who actively engaged in eroguro art (for real reading the chats she had with Mike will make your eyebrows wide) and the same could be said for those of her clique, but at some point the tides changed and their attitudes where seen as problematic, so in an effort to redeem themselves and be seen on the right side of history they embraced this new progressive ideology and kicked the ladder

So here's some news from someone we all know, Rebbeca Sugar.
As you all know, she's infamous for creating the LGBT favourite show, Steven Universe, but something funny came out when Libs of TikTok revealed some more information about Sugar.

Not only did she go behind the network back when she shoved in the LGBT themes into the show, specifically with Garnet when they revealed she was a fusion between two Gems known as Ruby and Sapphire, but it also reveals that she and her husband Ian self-inserted themselves into the characters.

Forgive me for this: Koh(((BERG)))er.
For that picture alone he looks like a crossing between a queer and a tranime fan. Exactly the type of person whom Robert would hang out with in the past and maybe right now too.

Fucking hell, disgusting!!! I'm glad to never having seen any of her "work" and only having heard about her.
By the way, isn't it FUNNY and WEIRD how people with a propensity for mental illnesses and a range for sadistic streak like to have this vision to have a "troll's remorse" or "want to be in the right side of history"? I don't discount any bit these people may have asked for "forgiveness" and embraced what is currently hip and trendy - yet retain all their disgust and narcissism (some, maybe even sociopathy?).

So since there isn't much activity on this thread, and i lot of free time today i decided to do a quick and not so comprehensive investigations about Mariel Cartwright's edgy past:
Her old internet alias went by Kinuko, her old vlog is still online and contains some info about her buut if we go to the gallery section we find that some preventive measures had been taken (tough this change was to promote de mecha fetus vlog around 2010)
Ver archivo adjunto 6011671

Getting to this part was a bit trickier but not too difficult, all it took was a good ol' search from the Wayback machine, which yielded the following results results:
This is all what i could get from these sources tho, so this is the best i could get from her, I'm sure there is more on the physical artbooks that they sold at cons, but those must be waaay harder to get hands on

I wish drowning or boiling people like this were legal.

Also you aren't even allowed to be edgy anymore. Pretty sure that "faggot" gets you banned.
It's just another stomping ground for troons with oldfag dysphoria.
But fakebois love calling themeselves "faggot", they don't know their own audience smh
Somehow, I just thought of the idea to use Waybackmachine on the MSPA forums:

I think we may have a few new potential leads, here. (In case you're curious, I already mentioned in Case III how Toby got banned for the MPREG stuff)
Not the Kyoko pfp listing their pronouns in bio 😭, in fact, half the posters were doing it, in 2012.

My guess is that it has something to do with Toby's connections to 8-4, a localization company based in Japan that published the console versions of Undertale, and has also worked on translations/localizations of various Japanese games, such as Xenosaga, Wild Arms, Fire Emblem, Monster Hunter, and Metal Gear Rising, among others. They were also responsible for the English-to-Japanese localization of indie games like Shovel Knight, Firewatch, Celeste, Hades, UFO 50, and of course, Undertale and Deltarune.
8-4? They sound familiar. Let's see who is at the top-
johntv.png
Ah. Right. These are the people translating japanese games to english. I forgot for a second.
Could Toby really be considered "good looking" if he wants to keep hiding his face behind that dog sprite?
This is a long shot but you know what I'm half expecting? Toby getting himself a transracial surgery like Michael Jackson. His fanbase would either turn on their king, or declare race to be just as mutable as sex, the result would be funny either way.

It's people like this that make me feel embarrased at times over being a Treasure fan, or a retro autist in general. Personasama is also the top Cleopatra Fortune investigator, I used to keep up with that thread he made. Cartwright & Co. are the reason I can't support Wayforward in good conscience. (I also checked some of the links and "Anna" was AGPing it up, with pixelshit even, back in 2008. Crazy stuff.)
I fucking hate these people, I really do.

I'm convinced he is enough of a jackass of an ironybro that he thinks the utterance of "just kidding hahaha... unless???" is the definition of a comedic routine. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if we went on through, revealing to the world how he is a true "slant eye" on the inside.

Again, the whole "retro gaming" scene on Tumblr needs to be investigated more. I'd make the argument that the current wave of "retro troonslop" we currently have going on only exists because of this community. They essentially broke away from, or formed completely independently of, sites like ScrewAttack and Retroware, discovered obscure games on their own, and formed their own culture around it all. That culture began to grow in size until it broke out of the Tumblr bubble and into the Internet at large.

One particular example I think of often is as follows: You know Snow Bros., right? Toaplan's answer to Bubble Bobble? Well, Snow Bros. got an obscure sequel in 1994, Snow Bros. 2 with New Elves. Used to play it in Mame all the time back in the day. Well, one of the Tumblr users Toby used to follow early on was named Kanotynes, with one particular set of gifs serving as inspiration for a game Toby wanted to make later down the line.

As it just so happens, in the very header of this blog, the sprite for the subtitle of Snow Bros. 2, "With New Elves" can be found. Clear as day. Pretty much anything and everything quirky, colorful, cartoony, wacky, arcadey, and Japanese was bound to attract this in-group.

I want Toby Fox singing enkas at his own theatre like a reverse Shoji Tabuchi

Soldam and Panic Bomber have pretty good soundtracks.
Shit. So does Pac-Man Arrangement.

More seriously, I'm pretty sure that this "group" was always more the "new games journalism" crowd at large. It went beyond Tumblr.
Sites like HG101, Talking Time, Tigsource, poppenkast etc.

One of the sites in this circle I know of is Gaming Hell, a gaming review website that's been up since 2008. As it just so happens, for a while, this site was part of a gay web ring called "Game & Love." Even though it's been defunct since 2021, the owner of Gaming Hell, Sarah S. Sowertty, is more likely than not a troon. One only needs to watch his Twitch streams to hear his voice.

"Sarah" was originally just the site's mascot with the author (The obviously male editor, in the style of UK gaming mags) being treated as a different character.
A tale as old as time!
Sidenote: Apparently Taito was fucking HUGE in the UK at some point which completely boggles my mind but I'm not exactly complaining.
Although this is all lore from the parallel UK retro games community - sites like worldofstuart and rllmuk.

To further add to this - there used to be a whole cottage industry of "complaining about dudebros"; The people who played CoD, Halo, EA Sports etc.
I'm not a fan of those games (Playing Halo right now and it's actually OK!) but I can guarantee that I'd have a far better time hanging out with someone like that than dipshit mcmoustache who makes twines about his friends.

This reminds me when someone did a "shitty flash games" for Vincent Palmieri/Vinny, from Vinesauce, and one of them was NOT a shitty game, which was a quite a cute looking one which was a blue & pink one which the player got to control the male and female characters - and the objective was get them together. You also controlled the physical world, so you had to be careful to not kill these characters.
I don't remember it, however, because I can't find the specific video. Do you have any ideas which game it is? It was on Newgrounds, but I can't find merely by description. It has nothing to do with Tumblr, it's just a nice enough concept.

It makes sense that Undertale would get cues from Treasure in some form or another. There always existed this strange cult-like fascination for the company on the internet, going all the way back to the late 2000s. It's not undeserved by any means, but I dunno, a lot of the cultists were/are about as unlikable as online smugfags are concerned. It's comparable to how insufferably obsessive and unfunny YouChewers are with spamming "inside jokes" related to the Metal Gear/Devil May Cry franchises at every unrelated topic imaginable. A lot of normal people got turned off of checking out the games because of that tryhard shit, and the same holds true with Treasure's output, unfortunate as that is.

SuperYoshi in particular has always been weirdly elitist/smug with his Treasure worship, as his own tumblr/twitter etc shows, and he's not even that particularly competent at articulating his affinity for the developer, or much of anything for that matter. Normally it would be a 'whatever who cares let him be an insecure loser' thing, but I dunno, every now and then I still see weirdos here and there parading SY around as this "mighty gaming expert" on top of the "Youtube Poop creator" hogwash, which is goofy considering his inability to convey thoughts without being offputting and narcissistic.

Also note that none of SY's ballwashers can explain what is so special about him. They just expect others to worship him as a demigod without asking questions, lest you get lambasted for being "hateful." Also note that not once SY has shown any empathy to any person ever, let alone ability to feign it.
In this post, you are treated to (Self-Proclaimed) Daddy Of YouTube Poop SuperYoshi gushing uncontrollably for Undertale/Deltarune.
https://bsky.app/profile/superyoshi.bsky.social/search?q=undertale

Fun fact, for years that guy liked to act smug and proud about being a "gaming industry insider" or whatever.

In reality he was only a GameStop manager, and he got unceremoniously fired from that.

Youtube Poop really doesn't pay the bills.
