South Park + Its Political Sperging (?) Thread - Season 26 ongoing!

South Park has always been kind of political-ish but I think the difference is the main characters' reaction to it. That hate crime episode from season 4 was trying to get a message across race-based laws, but Stan and Kyle clearly didn't care much about that stuff. They were just trying to get Cartman out of prison so that they could win a sledge race against the girls. Nowadays the boys' actively get involved in political stuff themselves and actively comment on race-related politics (usually with Kyle being the good side and Cartman being the bad side)

Damn, South Park episodes have become so stale and predictable AI is literally generating episodes superior to the real deal.

Let me rephrase this. Paramount paid one blllion dollars for something thats literally worse than what people can create with AI slop for peanuts (the suscription money).

Whoever made this did a really good job because almost forgot I was watching AI halfway through.

I apologise because I'm a tourist from the featured thread, but I have to type this because the mental dissonance in the "anti-AI" crowd is absolutely infuriating. AI is apparently soulless and can't create "art" like a real human, but at the same time everyone in the industry is going to be replaced by AI because it can create "art" like a real human? There's a lot more to be said about the concept of piracy and plagiarism, and these people defending anti-competitive practices only when it suits them, but I'll leave the sperging at that.

If this is the best AI could come up with then nobody should be afraid of it, I'm not impressed but I don't have a chip on my shoulder about them making fun of daddy Trump so I actually like the recent episodes.

it's some cute enough "sensible chuckle" stuff like Randy Gets A Blockbuster or the crack baby basketball

They're paying for the brand. Subscription services have thrown media business models, and the analysis there of, for a loop. A big flagship name attracts users to try their subscription service where in theory the endless content mill sucks them in and keeps them paying. In the heads of Paramount execs that could very well be worth a billion dollars. A paramount+ subscription is ~8$, ~13 if you get premium. If South park nets them 2-4 million loyal subscribers then the deal pays for itself over the course of 5 years.

Of course there's plenty of caveats to that math but the angle is absolutely there. Matt and Trey are already hard at work trying to market their show by being controversial, which is why you saw all those astroturfed posts around the time of premiere about how mad Trump and Kirk were definitely going to be big mad about South Park making fun of them. Unfortunately for them they didn't really take the bait (Kirk sort of did, albeit affectionately).

You can tell sora is an openai product just on the fact that it was incapable of making the chinks chinky. It's cool but sora will never be able to make a good sp episode just because it's ran by trannies and will never say anything bad about anyone other than a white man.

I'm honestly growing sick of the faggy character drama
>Liane growing annoyed with Cartman
>Sharon growing tired of Randy
>Stan becoming depressed
Does anyone other than fags like this shit? It'd be one thing if it was actually deep and well written, but half of these are written like tumblrina fanfics. If you can't even write character arcs well, then why even bother? Just stick to making fun character gags instead of melodrama retardation.

The issue is that there is no god damn pay off for the first and third and the second always gets reversed as far as Sharon finally leaving Randy getting undone and their split memory holed.

Lianne and Cartman having a come to Jesus moment where they have it out or Stan's depression from his shitty father and his parents marriage being a sham at this point coming to a head via suicide attempt or the other three realizing how fucked up Stan has become because of his home life will never happen.

All of those events did happen (in ways far less extreme than suicide, but still). The problem is that they have happened several times and nothing has come of it. Its endlessly repeating the same "arc" for these characters, but nothing of actual consequence happens and that always leads them back to the same "arc" with different underpants to do it all over again.

Which is more a meta commentary on how creatively bankrupt and thoroughly done Matt and Trey are with South park than anything else.

I do like that Lianne is finally calling Cartman out on his shit, Tsst is an old favorite of mine because we finally see Cartman getting some pushback, but the other stuff gets annoying after a while. At least they're finally done with Tegridy Farms, that got old years ago. I wish they'd kept the ending of Streaming Wars where Randy goes back to being a scientist, but better late than never.

Ngl, some of my friends who liked the first two episodes are now starting to get sick of this whole Trump arc. Mind you they aren't even fans of his and are mostly neutral on politics. They even admitted some of the a.i slop that people are posting are more entertaining episode ideas than what were really getting. They also stated that they're starting to believe that this whole Satan baby arc is going to be a let down with whatever the child is going to be. Some have predicted the baby will be a "non binary" baby which I'm sure Trump is going to pissed! /sneed . Others have said that the baby will be a random politician which will be a huge let down. Honestly, unless this baby will bring about the return of an old character, this whole Trump and Satan baby plot is going to be a let down.
