Log cabin Republicans are a real group. This isn't Reagan's Republican party anymore, Trump has made it abundantly clear many times that people from the gay community are more than welcome to be a part of the party.
My healthcare experiences are similar. To try to keep it brief, the days of having local physicians that knew all their patients and medical histories are long gone and the medical field has become more of an assembly line process that incentivizes doctors to see as many patients as possible and prescribe Big Pharma-endorsed pills with little personal interaction. I actually get better care and more personal attention when I go to the nearby urgent care facility than I do my regular doctor(s), and it seems like the opposite should be true in an ideal world.
If anything, it seems the right is killing the left with kindness in response to recent acts of violence against the former.
The only ace the Dems might have up their sleeves is pointing out to a court that unionized workers have to be laid off according to least seniority or some other formula spelled out in the contract and rehired based on the opposite of that.
Vance is definitely more relatable to the average person because of his background compared to most politicians who live or grew up with a privileged lifestyle where they never faced any true adversity in their lives. Vance had a shitty lifestyle, but he somehow managed to overcome it and make himself into a decent person nevertheless.
