Apparently, the radical faction of the Dems is driving for this shutdown. Schumer is afraid that he'll lose his position if he doesn't play ball with the radicals.

Further proof these people really are just dumb. If crafty Jews like Schumer actually understood how destructive niggers & women are, they wouldn't have invited them to come take over the party.

I didn't used to be so racist, but I've realized that if you're not white, you simply don't have any kind of emotional and moral investment in this country. I have ancestors who fought in the Revolution, Civil War, WWI, WWII, and Korean War. American English is my language. They cut civilization out of forests in the east and settled the plains further west. The dynamism and spirit of America is my heritage. Not only that, but that heritage comes by way of England, Christian Europe, and even to some degree, the Romans and Greeks. At least European migrants can see echoes of their own civilization here, some goodness their own fake & gay governments are now repressing and trying to drown in a sea of swarthy barbarians.

To Asians, Latinos, Indians, Africans, and Arabs, all this means nothing. Everything that makes America what it is can be nothing more to them than a resource to exploit. To them, George Washington is at best just some white-haired dude from the old days who did some stuff. Sir Francis Drake was just some guy. Aristotle just wrote a bunch of shit nobody should care about. There is nothing tragic to them about Notre Dame's roof burning, of the annual company Christmas gala being shut down by atheist kikes, or a quaint town in Ohio being overrun with illiterate cat-eaters. If somebody bulldozed the Dayton Aerospace Museum to build a mosque, or shredded the Apollo 11 capsule for scrap, or turned the Gettysburg battlefield into a dump, they wouldn't care.

I don't want them here. They don't belong here. They don't make my country better. I don't care if they add to GDP or file patents or build houses or invent the next piano-key necktie.

We want this shutdown to go as long as possible so we can gut all the excessive waste and size of government. The ball is in Trump's court to do just that and he's already started with the cutting. Trump has absolutely no reason to cave, he is winning bigly right now. No one has ever won this bigly some would say. The Democrats are absolute idiots for falling for this and shutting down the government, the only way to save themselves now is to cave to Trump. They are in a lose - lose situation, it's wonderful. If Trump actually succeeds in draining a significant portion of the swamp from this shutdown situation then I'll concede that Trump is one of the very best Presidents in all of history because this whole thing seems to have been a 50D chess move from Trump.

I've had some thoughts on this: When Europeans came over in the 1800s, most were poor and had to eek out a living with hard labor and horrible living conditions. But they put their nose to the grindstone and were rewarded, even if it took a generation or two(and they still were ahead of where they would be in Europe). Now, I don't know if the government was throwing around incentives back then(they certainly had laws keeping people out) but making it easy for people to come over has lead to the issues of integration we have now, at least in part.

Dems are really having a bad time coming to terms with being in the minority. No rino snakes to bail them out.

The Democrats probably could of easily argued for a "Less of what they want" from the Republicans instead "More of what they hate" and prevented the shut down. Overall it was a lose lose situation, the Senators individually lose by crossing the aisle, or the party loses big time. They chose to lose big time because, well;

Funding health care for illegal aliens is extremely unpopular, so the Dems do really own this.

I think AOC is gunning for it, she's already bitched out Pelosi and Schumer and basically stated that they suck shit and they don't know what they're doing. Yeah, we'll see. We're aways away from the race. All the Dem players will be trying to jockey for position in these next couple of years. I still think Gavin Newsom might be a contender. Maybe Tim Walz? They could run a white guy as long as it's clear that he's an ally to all the special interest groups. They did run Biden, after all. But right now the field of candidates is pretty weak.

But you might be right, they might just punt and go with an AOC or a Crockett if they're hell bent on branding the Dem party as the party of radicals. Depends on how strong the radicals' grips remain on the party. We'll see if the Dem donor base is willing to keep funding radicals or whether they push for more moderate candidates.

I'm behind in the thread, but I've realized that the dems haven't actually learned anything from the Trump era of politics. I remember in 2016, voting for Bernie and buying into the "Trump is a wildcard and cannot be trusted" narrative, but then slowly coming around to him when his choices seemed far more reasonable, and the people hating him seeming far more unreasonable.

While that seems to be something that happened to a lot of people (JD Vance being an example of someone who was swayed to Trump's camp after having bought into the narrative previously), the main thing that got him in was how memeable Trump was.
