South Park + Its Political Sperging (?) Thread - Season 26 ongoing!

It's worse than that as the last episode pretty much paid off the punch line of having Trump/Satan by having characters scream and proclaim "Trump IS Fucking Satan", with fucking being and adjective not a verb.

Also it's Wednesday morning and still ZERO preview or description of the episode. Does this mean Trey and Matt are pulling a Jared Got Aides and plan on giving the episode to Comedy Central at the last possible moment so no changes can be made/it aired sight unseen to dare them to spike the episode? Or have they basically going full breach of contract and refusing to make any further episodes after possibly being told they can't bash Trump and his supporters anymore?

Maybe they're doing a last minute rewrite?
Honestly I'm expecting them to double down even if that gets their show cancelled. They're probably aiming for a breach of contract payout

Another reason Family Guy is so good is that its not just being led by one dictator like South Park or a cabal of writers who've been there since the 90s like the simpsons. Seth is pretty good about giving people shots and all of his tv shows allow for endless experimentation.

Because the shows aren't tied down, it doesn't matter how long ago the show came out someone will find the jokes funny. Meanwhile a majority of south park episodes become stale within the month, the silly kid adventures of the 90s and 2000s replaced by shitty "reference humor" on par with the worst of the Epic Movie/Disaster movie era.

its crazy seeing a family guy clip online and finding out its 20+ years old but gets millions of views and likes.
Honestly, Family Guy and American Dad were always at their best during the times McFarlane wasn't involved in the writing process.

It was probably an incredibly bad decision to base all of your season's jokes on the existence of two individuals considering how fragile and fleeting the human existence is. They're going to have to hastily retcon all the Charlie Kirk shit.

Plus Trump is 80 and could easily just fade away in his sleep at any time.

If that happened they would be rightfully and truly fucked. Despite half the country outright despising Trump I don't think Paramount would allow them to do a gravedancing episode immediately after someone's death and thet literally have no other jokes to fall back on.

Or worse, they refused to rewrite/make a replacement episode.

At this point, CC needs to just pull a John K and fire Trey and Matt. Even Rebecca Sugar by way of Games Animation relaunching of the series at this point might be the only way to save it, which says something about how bad shit is.

So they changed their system to one episode every 2 weeks, and then couldn't even make that deadline? It's pretty clear their passion is lost
And this new episode is the last one for a month
They really don't give a shit

I hope someday someone working there leaks what was originally planned. Whether it's unfinished animation, line recordings, or just the script. Because if they have to delay it like this, it must have been really fucking bad for them.
I want to see the rejected draft so bad. Did they choose to delay themselves or did Paramount force them to? Are they going to try doubling down over the next two weeks?

Depends; Trey and Matt caved on 201 but followed it up with Crippled Summer, which saw them having Nathan (a special needs kid) be graphically raped by a shark on screen. Even if they do cave and stop bashing Trump and conservatives, I can see them doing something taboo breaking to spite Comedy Central. Like having Butters be permanently maimed or PC Principal revealing Strong Woman and their kids all died off screen in horrific fashion to explain the reason he's now a Christian.

Or worse, they bring back Tegridy Farms and once again make it the focal point of the show and have Randy give a cryptic threat to fans by saying "you should have just let Trey and Matt call Trump Satan and shit all over him and his supporters; now you have to deal with the second coming of Tegridy...."

Tegridy Farms was bland but not that bad, I wouldn't mind another season. The Japanese toilet episode was funny. Didn't they have the one where everyone was completely useless and the repairmen were getting rich as fuck?

We only got the Tegridy Farms season because they absolutely refused to make fun of the Biden Administration and without Trump in the news they had no jokes.

I am caught up on the season now. In-between there are still some nuggets of gold like
- Cartman Charlie Kirk segments
- ChatGPT conversations
- City Wok owner scamming children
Is this enough to carry the show? Hell no, the rest is just too gay.

“Apparently when you do everything at the last minute sometimes you don’t get it done,” they said. “This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and ‘South Park’ fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week!”

Translation: "We're all out of ideas and the only thing were doing is Trump 24/7 this season" This is what happens when you rely too much on current topics you hacks. Give us the fucking boys doing something. Yet fans tell people that these two are such geniuses that they can come up with an episode in a day.
