Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

No, the electoral college worked exactly as it was meant to, both now and for the past 240+ years.

Seriously, I keep saying this but these people are sore fucking losers. She lost and nothing can change that. This so-called Russian connection and saying the electoral college is broken isn't going to make her suddenly win.

Saying "Hillary won the popular vote, therefore the electoral college didn't work and needs to be abandoned" is literally saying "I think it's okay if Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago can decide the election for the entire country." Because that's how Hillary "won", she got the three most populus areas to go blue and outweigh, by a very thin margin, the rest of the country who said FUCK OFF to her.

Now, if you're actually okay with that, that's your prerogative, but that's the position you have to defend. If you honestly think Hillary should have won, you're giving the power to elect the president to three cities.

As whipped as Comey is, his move with reopening the email investigation right before Hillary could recover was a beautiful work of art. Too bad he cucked himself about it.

Anyone else kind of tired with Media's need to make Trump the punchline? It's old now and was never funny. He's been our president for over 7 months now, maybe its time to put on big boy panties and accept that.
Anyways, forgive me if this was posted but Comedy Central's new show caught my eye:

Someone was so salty they paid for a whole show where someone pretends to be him and do stupid shit because "lol drumph"
At least the reactions to the impersonator are funny, "You're a disgrace...Where's your taxes"

I'll devils advocate a bit and say that's what we already do with swing states. Instead of New York and LA deciding the election, it's Miami and Concord. Certainly not to the same degree as if we just went by popular vote, but it's the same kind of effect.
It is, and that is absolutely a flaw in the system. However, state populations and demographics do change over time, so the possibility exists of increasing or decreasing the influence of a swing state.

By doing it on a state-by-state level, as we do now, the unbalanced influence is diluted to a point where it's at least tolerable, if not ideal. On the other hand, if you want to say you think the Electoral College is more equitable model than the popular vote, but that the distribution of influence needs to be adjusted, I think that's absolutely an argument worth having.

You're allowed to not like trump, and make fun of the president all you want. No one can/should stop you. There were plenty of jokes about dubbya and obeme, but most of them were ACTUALLY FUNNY.

The shit w/ trump has passed the border of "unfunny and juvenile" a long time ago.

Yes he calls people names. Yes his hands are small. Yes he talks funny. Yes he's not "presidential." Yes we know you believe in the Russia conspiracy theory. Yes we know you think there's another reason he's going to start WW3 this week.

At this point I'm waiting for someone to come up w/ original trump joke that won't get them fined by the FCC.

These things aren't funny to me for two reasons: they come from a source of butthurt and they rely on old, often disproven and forgotten, smears from the campaign (Russia, taxes, hands, whatever).

And to prove it's not because I'm biased, it would be just as unfunny if someone from /r/The_Donald deflected with something like "Hillary e-mails" when told the president has backtracked on many of his campaign promises already.

Not really unsurprising. CC did their whole slew of Bush-related shows back during that presidency and they were just as destined for internet '10 shows you forgot existed' lists as this one is

"Thats my Bush" had potential, mostly because it was Matt and Trey shitting all over both sides reactions to Gore's loss, but the biggest issue it has was their love of terrible sitcom laugh tracks and people on both sides not getting the joke

Newt Gingrich was asked about Colbert in an interview recently and this is what he said.

The reason a lot of this anti Trump comedy stuff isn't funny is because the goal isn't to be funny but to hurt and demean Trump and his supporters, it's angry propaganda not comedy.

You know you fucked up when Newt Gingrich of all people is making more sense than you.

These shows all tend to make at least one fuckup where they bully the abused and physically ill without realizing it. Foot in mouth doesn't register.

One of the things I find most bizarre about the current US administration is how you have a guy who has enough lolcow characteristics to be a goldmine for comedians and the media alike, but instead they keep on A-logging so hard that Trump ends up m.ilking them instead.

For comedy you need to be detached, because in order to be funny you have to be objective enough to see what works and what doesn't. If you hate someone so much that literally everything they do is THE WORST and you're just constantly reeing about them then you won't write jokes, you're gonna write livejournal rants

Same things also happens in reverse, see: the daily show and all of those people when Obama was President for 8 years and they couldn't wait to line up to lick his taint on a daily basis.

If i thought Trump was going to start World War 3, I'd just start making Good Omens references. At least that book is fucking great.

So Trump just fired Comey.

By all accounts (and we're learning more every few minutes) this seems like it was coming for a while, but it will be interesting to see the reaction to whoever Trump decides should be the next director.
