It is interesting how he did have a real upward trajectory. He was booking more and more serious gigs, and actual important people were talking to him. He was on the threshold of breaking out as a serious person, then something happened and it all came crumbling down. I unironically think it was the Vyvanse. It was enough to give him the motivation to prepare for these debates and events, but it feels like somewhere along the way he started to have serious delusions of grandeur. He doesn't seem to understand that no one cares about the opinion of an amphetamine-addicted former failed pro gamer with zero charisma on matters of constitutional law or any other serious political or social issues. Ironically, if he were a rightoid, he would have had a better chance of rising up to become a valued and respected voice, but he chose to hedge his bets with the party of credentialism.
I don’t think anyone could have predicted this. It was almost divine how it played out. The real powder keg was the leaks from Solo, not even the Rose being 17 thing. That's just icing on the fucking cake now.
Let me preface this by saying I hate Lauren Southern, but this shit-show started with her. She slithered her way onto Destiny's stream completely uncontested. He was clearly supporting her, he attacked people like Mafia Jinx for her, flew out to collab, and any dissent in chat got the ban hammer. As this cozy little relationship grew, he kept boosting her, promoting her "The Whole Truth" video, trolling Rollo Tomassi for her, and even platforming her cringe prank shit. He even tried to whitewash her past to Nick Fuentes, who, to his credit, wanted nothing to do with her. Eventually, she gains some traction and links up with Tenant Media.
Around this same time, Melina, a devout DGGer, dips out. This woman was an incredible asset, not just offering up her pussy, but acting as an emissary to Twitch and as bait for Destiny's sexual conquests. And her leaving was because of Lauren Southern. We'll come back to that.
Before the leaks, Destiny was trying to grow his community by picking fights with everyone: Aiden Ross, No Jumper, Fresh and Fit. A double-edged sword that got him some clout but made a shit ton of enemies. Then he mocked the death of a civilian, Corey Comperatore, which burned bridges with right wing guntubers like Donut Operator and Brandon Herrera. He even had that documentary from Turkey Tom, which lets be honest was a homo glaze session. Even then Turkey tom stayed loyal until the leaks nuked his "commentary cartel."
Then October 7th happens. His deep dive into Israel and his "Israel right, everyone else wrong" stance became a massive catalyst. As the conflict went on, it became undeniable that Israel was committing a genocide. Here, he antagonizes Dr. Norman Finkelstein and eventually debates him. Huge fucking mistake. It was clear he was scared shitless before the debate, he was on every podcast under the sun, building up his position like some PR campaign. Then the debate happens, and he gets absolutely humiliated and exposed as the pseudo intellectual hack he is. While this is going down, DGG is in overdrive doxing and harassing Finkelstein. He then goes on the Adam Friendland Show and continues to get trolled and exposed.
This all makes him look like a massive hypocrite, especially since not long before this, he was palling around with Nick Fuentes.
If I remember right, Tenant Media then gets exposed as a Russian front. No comment from Destiny. Shortly after, the leaks drop. This is where the real fallout begins. People find out he had a secret relationship with Lauren Southern. Suddenly, every simping, white knighting thing he did for her looks a thousand times worse because he was hiding it. The image of him as some paragon of ethics is shattered. He just looks fake and disingenuous. The cost of that lie was huge: it cost him loyal followers and it cost him Melina.
The leaks themselves didn't blow up until President Sunday made his video. Ironically another individual destiny tried to humilate for his cult. That gave Pixie another devout DGG follower the final push to launch her lawsuit. Chaiery followed with her own legal action (which I believe was her own choice). Pretty sure Pisco bails too. Eventually, most of his so called "commentary cartel" disavows him. Then Rose's identity is discovered, and whatever infrastructure he had left H3, WillyMac completely evaporated.
Somewhere in the middle of all this, he also has a falling out with Lauren Delaguna. The whole house of cards just collapsed.
He's probably always had those delusions of grandeur, but the people around him changed. The twitch ban probably had a lot to do with it. He couldn't show up on streams with a bunch of nobodies anymore because they weren't allowed to have him on their shows. Once he got involved with Lauren, he started getting the idea that he should build an empire. And then he was being surrounded by people who were encouraging him to build a media empire like the Daily Wire. I think that idea predates the Vyvanse and the Vyvanse was just a tool to make it happen.
I think this wasn't even his idea but something from Lauren Southern. When she linked up with Tenant, she likely got it into her pea sized brain that this was something she could do. Being the leech that she is she probably floated the idea to Destiny.
Asides from that in this clip with Adam Friendland I think Taylor Lorenz is throwing some subtle shade at NSE
