He's probably always had those delusions of grandeur, but the people around him changed. The twitch ban probably had a lot to do with it. He couldn't show up on streams with a bunch of nobodies anymore because they weren't allowed to have him on their shows. Once he got involved with Lauren, he started getting the idea that he should build an empire. And then he was being surrounded by people who were encouraging him to build a media empire like the Daily Wire. I think that idea predates the Vyvanse and the Vyvanse was just a tool to make it happen.

I will say that I do kind of respect that he didn't really go all in on the grift. He very easily could have towed the line and made a lot of money by playing nice with those guys. Joe Rogan knows who he is and Joe Rogan will platform anyone who can convince him that they're smart. I don't really think he backed away out of principle, though. I think it's because he can't handle being second banana, and he was definitely getting treated like a bitch in those debates. The burning bridges stuff has been going on for a while. The delusions of grandeur has as well. The vyvanse has amplified these traits, but they've always been there. He's mentioned the media company/ running for office all the way back in 2018.

There's a reason Destiny doesn't seem to maintain long term friendships. Destiny is so socially and emotionally stunted, he can't form genuine bonds with people. He can mask some aspects, and some people overlook this for a while for various reasons.
