My dad of all people is the one person I know who is most affected by Charlie's death. My dad has been watching Fox and Friends for 15 years, and has watched Charlie on TV since he was a teenager. I could tell he was associating his death to the idea of me dying, and it was very hard to take.

Same thing, I'm around Charlie's age, talked to my mother yesterday and she was really distraught, said "I just felt like that was my kid there". These gravedancing ghouls have absolutely no idea how humans have been taking the whole thing, I'm repeating what everyone has been saying, but the last time it's felt this way was the 2016 election, even 2024 and the Trump assassination attempts didn't feel this way again. Recently I was talking to my mother about someone involved in politics and I'd said that the politician seemed ok on some stuff but how could she still be so off on trans-shit. My mother pointed out that anyone who was at that level of politics and hadn't figured out the reality of trans and the damage it does yet, just wasn't going to - they weren't in a protective bubble that kept them unaware, they knew the truth and didn't care. And it was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me, because I'm used to seeing people go from 'be kind to the poor minority' to 'ok but that's a bit far' to 'Jesus Christ, they are perverts and attention seekers and kids are being butchered.' So I've always expected that over time, more and more people will experience that, and eventually it will all be like a fever dream that we'd struggle to believe had ever happened.

But it's not like that for some people. They aren't stupid, they do know and they don't care. They've actually had their normal human feelings switched off. This last day and a half, I've watched not just the callus things they've said about Charlie Kirk's murder, the lies used to justify it. But the active evil of going on his grieving wife's social media within hours of his death to gloat and mock her. So very, very many people are completely without any moral core. So they won't ever look at kids who have had their bodies destroyed by puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and Mengele style surgeries and feel horror and grief at that. They are utterly fucking incapable of caring.
