From what I've seen so far, TFR releases a content update every 3 months, and we're entering that third month. However, I think it's likely they'll delay the content update to October for the 1-year anniversary. Yes, it's been almost a year already.

They're both interesting on their own merits but each of them are both products of the American political environment they were developed in. MAA came out in 2021 and TFR released in 2024. A good example of this is how Make America Again makes a bigger deal about COVID-19 with its national spirits and even has a Nick Fuentes path meanwhile The Fire Rises mentions the former but doesn't place as much emphasis on it and the "America First" leader doesn't get much of anything (most likely since he isn't seen as any kind of serious political figure anymore, even as a joke).

Sometimes I go down a rabbit hole looking up other HOI4 stuff and brings me back to TNO. Such high hopes. Faggots should look back and document it for the future. It went to having such a grip on the HOI4 modding community. So many people were doing TNO style portraits or making TNO style focus trees and content. It even inspired more narrative type events in other mods. But also what the fuck happened? This was four fucking years ago. Not even teasing new content for Canada and the others. Instead we got hit with latinx after latinx. All of these were promised soon. Who even and what even prevents them from doing it? What lore changes could they possibly have made these releases impossible?

TFR, TNO and the normal game has frankly turned into a full radicalisation centre for National Socialists. I'm not opposed to this at all, I just thought it is interesting that these mods are actively radicalising people past any old Nazi ideas of marching and wearing uniforms (NSM) to youth radical groups a lot quickly than I ever did (AWD).
Saw a post of James Mason the other day on TikTok, and they all know and support him from the TFR.

I find it very dubious that anyone was radicalized by a hoi4 mod. Young zoomer men are becoming increasingly far right, but that's mostly because of the current vibe shift that is a backlash against a literal decade of the most white-hating gay race communism. Wouldn't be surprised when someone in that condition organically comes upon and is inspired by extremist movements portrayed in a videogame mod, but in no case does the mod itself cause the extremism.

Also, remember the Brown Internet Theory, and the fact that more than any other hoi4 mod by far, the TFR fanbase are slavs, chinks, and SEA Monkeys. These people hating America and idolizing extremist groups in here due to their own frustrated resentment doesn't mean anything. I bet 90% of those TikTok comments aren't even American.

The 5th TFR manga short is out already, these have been dropping as quickly as nukes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the Atomwaffen ending this week.

I might sound like a faggot for saying this, but a brown Brazilian drawing comics and fantasizing about Americans killing each other, esp in a modern day setting, irks me. I'm just not a fan of people from shithole countries fantasizing about America also becoming a shithole, and then receiving praise for it because muh art or muh humanization or something. Maybe I'm just still traumatized from all those "based right MAGA Christian" twitter accounts being jeets, but like, third worlders should focus on the issues in their own turd world country. The poorest part of West Virginia are still leagues better than the richest part of Brazil, Indonesia, India, or wherever the hell they're from.

To go a bit further, you see this pretty often online in the behavior of nons. The ones living in the West would obviously countersignal explicit White Nationalism, but the ones living in their own countries, especially SEAsians and the Chinese, often fantasize about a race war in the West and the rise of the far right. You can even see this in the TFR discord among the Chinese language channels, those people fantasize about an Atomwaffen takeover more than actual White siegeculture larpers.

The reason why they do so is pretty obvious. Ideologically and pragmatically, these third worlders resent the West for its wealth and its stable institutions, of course. But aesthetically as well, remember that most third-world Nons grew up with Nazism being a cool aesthetic, they never had the same anti-Nazi social programming that actual White Westerners grew up with. We essentially have a perfect storm of resentment towards Western governments/institutions, a penchant for Nazi aesthetics, and overwhelming numbers on the internet from them. Should it really be surprising that far right slop, including ones featuring TFR, are becoming increasingly prevalent on the internet

In a nutshell, I guess what I'm trying to say is that the brown Filipino groyper posting "Based and Redpilled" TFR NSM edits on twitter from a slum in Manilla should have his entire neighborhood leveled by a drone strike.

The guy is just commissioned/hired to do the art by the TFR devs. He doesn't actually write the lore beyond just being told what to draw with references.

They picked a Brazilian artist probably because it's dirt cheap to pay him. Like probably $50 per comic page and $200 per colored character sheet. It's like how most "Western cartoons" in CN and Nickelodeon ever since the 2010s are actually animated by outsourced studios in Korea and elsewhere (it's quite blackpilling to know). Also third world artists basically don't give any fucks about censorship (unless its against their cultures) or having to kowtow to ugly artstyle standards, whereas your average "professional artist" might be like "Erm, I can't draw a swastika or an actually attractive looking woman. How will that look on my resume? I can get canceled!" so that's also another point. See how the comic industry is basically fucking dead when the only thing that's allowed by the shareholders and execs is that Harley Quinn fart fetish comic (that's a real thing look it up).

Hell if you look at the artist's usual fare its actually mostly Sci-Fi and mecha stuff and not like grounded military artwork which is the bulk of the TFR art. The guy's usual bread and butter is stuff like Ghost in the Shell or Patlabor while TFR is probably more comparable to the A24 Civil War film from last year (ironically, it was directed by a British man but still). Very different worlds.

But you are pretty correct when it comes to SEA monkeys and 'jeets basically living vicariously through white people lol.
Although I argue its just a lot more simpler than that. Third worlders just envy White people and love their aesthetic so much that they LARP as them on the internet. Its really nothing that deep. See "Nazi Chic" in much of Asia. It's just a concept that looks cool but is also detached from their own history and culture. That and add in a lack of education for third worlders of their own history and you also get that too.

I'd have more respect for your average Indonesian HOI4 player if he at least tried to LARP as a staunch Suharto supporter because that's at least unique to their culture and history. Instead of pretending to be "Sigismund Steinhauser".

Is he actually? Where'd you learn that from? I'm pretty sure TFR doesn't have a Patreon or anything, and surely none of the devs is using hundreds of dollars for this. It's more likely he's doing it for free for his own reasons, be it clout chasing or just love for the mod, why not both.

iaArt1 originally had commissions open on their Xitter account but they closed them ever since they started drawing TFR art full-time.

It gave me the impression that he's essentially part of the team or the TFR devs 'bought all his commission spots' and just hired him full-time.

But it might be true he's doing it for fun instead, rather than being a contracted artist for the mod.
