First glad to have you back. Think I saw you earlier on the thread but you haven't been here for a while. Second that's a thunk. A character sheet for the TFR webcomic's next chapter has been posted to their Discord, looks like the original main trio will be getting a Humvee and joined by a bunch of Southerners - a black Georgian veteran, a white Texan veteran, a Latina soldier also from Texas, and a Virginian weeb. Maybe it means the action will be moved southward from Springfield, IL? St. Louis usually turns into the American Stalingrad in most playthroughs it seems, after all (including mine).

I am a huge advocate for any mod that explores another established fictional world. Like a HOI4 mod based on The Domination of the Draka would be unbelievably kino especially if they kept the lore 100% accurate to S. M. Sterling's novels.
Specifically an adaption of Marching Through Georgia. But The Stone Dogs would also work

Tbh I'm surprised nobody's gotten around to making a Draka mod for HOI4 yet. There were already existing, functional Draka mods released for both HOI2 and Darkest Hour years back. And while I definitely have issues with S. M. (or rather S&M) Sterling's lore in places, like how everyone is made too retarded to do anything about the Draka's ridiculously massive landgrabs until it's too late or his overindulgence in pointless war crime & lesbian BDSM scenes, based on what I remember of my own experiences with those old mods I can say his work unquestionably makes for fun wargame scenarios.

Since this thread has basically turned into a general Paradox modding thread on top of its original purpose, I think it's the best place to post the beginnings of that Elder Kings 1 racial & cultural submod I was talking about a few pages back. As I said then, I wanted to bring the Keptu (native humans of Hammerfell, which they called the Deathlands, and who canonically got genocided by invading Yokudans/Redguards ~3,000 years before the mainline games, though apparently some remnants survived longer than others) in from EK2, where they're a very minor presence that usually gets finished off by the surrounding Redguards without player intervention (so that, at least, is lore-accurate).
There's hardly any description of what the Keptu looked like in any of the games' lore, and even in Elder Scrolls Online no living Keptu (as opposed to their ghosts) can actually be seen, at most you can fight some of their descendants among the Reachmen and obtain sets of their armor. Bigshot ex-TES writer Kirkbride described them as being 'men with tan brown skin', which I guess makes sense since their homeland is one of the two big desert regions of Tamriel other than Elsweyr. So, building off both base EK and the Elder Kings Enhancement Suite's integrated Nedic portrait overhaul, I gave them a combined Egyptian & DLC-Arabic physical base (still brown-skinned, but lighter than the Redguards and without African lips); a modified mix of Egyptian & DLC-Arabic hairs; the modified Muslim clothes used by EKES Redguards; and Outremer (modified French) headgear from the CK2 DLC. The results are as follows:
That sole starting ruler of theirs, Erushir Lahk, is also the only Keptu ruler in EK2. As you can see, he's a tribal chief with a grand total of two provinces and is completely surrounded by various Redguards, and he follows the Old Gods faith (as I've not been successful in coding a Celestial religion purely for the Keptu, and in any case they were said to have turned to other gods - Aedra & Daedra alike - as the Redguards genocided them in the First Era, with Daedric-aligned Keptu presumably marrying into the Reachmen and siring clans like ESO's Dreadhorns; the Old Gods faith lets you choose from a mix of both Aedra and Daedra for your patron deity). Fortunately for him, said Redguards are still fractured into their own duchies & chiefdoms, so his situation is merely very difficult instead of impossible.
I only gave Erushir the Desert Leader trait & a Fennec Fox pet in the code so far, but I'll probably change that to further improve his extremely slim odds of survival, the loadout he spawned with in those screenshots seems good enough. Anyway, for names, the Keptu use a modified mixture of Redguard & Reachman namelists. I purged most of the Redguards' modern ghetto-sounding names when compiling the Keptu namelist, leaving only the Arabic-sounding ones, plus I sprinkled in the very few canonical Keptu names from the lore that I've been able to find through UESP, such as Zuathas and Haakon.

If that goes well I'd also like to take a crack at overhauling the Marukhati/Alessian religion (the Alessian Order was one of the very few monotheistic religions on Tamriel alongside the Skaal's All-Maker, they used to be Cyrodiil's dominant religion in the First Era but are nearly dead by the Second, which is when the game's bookmarks are set), which was still pretty undercooked by the time development on EK1 more or less ceased. Let's see how that goes in a couple of months...

ngl I'd wish we had more Patriot Front members IRL over groyperfags. At least PF have a cooler aesthetic and a coherent ideology (even if their 1776 LARP kind of conflicts with Fascism, I mean the Founding Fathers were literally Freemasons its kind of hard to bounce back from that, I can kind of get that they're only the doing the 1776 LARP purely for aesthetic reasons).
Also they seem to do occasional charity work?
