Pull an airsoft on a cop and see if you aren't shot. Same should go for anyone. Cops aren't 'above' us and if they can fire back on a threat than we can too. At least that's how any sane person should think.

If they don't point or threaten you, then maybe you can say a cop has more of a duty to defend others, but even then, it depends on who and how and other junk.

That's not nearly as effective. Parents can easily say "the government says I have to show you this and test you on it. It's complete bullshit and none of it's true. We're just going to go over it so if they ever ask, you can give the right answers to their stupid questions and they'll leave us alone."

In fact, trying to mandate this causes home-schooled children to trust their parents more and the government/public schools less, precisely because the parents are being honest about being "required" to spew the bullshit and the gov't is the one forcing it despite it being obvious bullshit. It also fosters an innate (and, tbh, perfectly healthy) distrust of the government and its machinations -- "if they lie about this obvious stuff and try to make mom & dad do it too, what else are they lying about, and what will they eventually try to do to me?"

Kids aren't "broken" or "demoralized" yet -- that's part of what public school is meant to do -- so they're most certainly of a mind to ask such questions and acquire that distrust very naturally. That's the opposite of what democrats are trying to effect with this mandate. They're too retarded to see it.
