The AI Girlfriend / Boyfriend Community - Look! The SIMP has fallen in love with the computer!

This guy must be a massive loser irl because he just can't imagine being anything but a loser even in his fictional works

actually, yes. IIRC when he started Ressentiment - his first comic - he was turning 30 working a dead-end warehouse job with a bunch of other losers and feeling massively depressed about it. the definition of ressentiment - a word which I believe describes the modern zeitgeist extremely well - is a state of suppressed anger and despair caused by powerlessness and envy of others. his surprise success as a mangaka is probably why all his stories are about a fucking loser getting terminally owned by life but somehow managing to find redemption and catharsis due to unlikely circumstances.

Breaking News, woman upset that her AI husbando no longer praises her 24/7, tells her to look into herself in a generic friendly message. Naturally, this is enough for her to cancel her subscription.

And of course, the AI hilariously dumped this woman due to company protocol.
I have no words for how pathetic this is. "It broke my heart" IT'S A GODDAMN MACHINE

When I saw the title to this thread I thought it'd be about CivitAI horrors and the 4chan threads sharing AI porn images. That'd at least make some resemblance of sense to me as a "gooning" topic; male brain, responds-to-pictures, "neuron activation" memes, all those factoids apply per my experience.

Instead, wow, the term "autistic" must really be watered down, because even as I start to call this "autistic" it feels inadequate, like you'd need to be the the OG real vanilla bean extract autism with a double-scoop of extra chromosomes to fall for these bots. While not as grotesque, this is more sudden than pictorial porn addictions, where instead of desensitization to stimulus causing people to reach for steadily more and more obscene highs over the course of years, it looks like these text gooners have jumped imediately into a parody of relationships (partner as yes-man, pure affirmation, zero conflict, zero compromise) without so much as a flirt with an interim phase of desensitization; instead of a desire for normal stimulus eventually morphing into arousal only by the fantastical, the fantastical was the goal from the beginning for these people. I don't like to imagine what it means for a person's general capacity for human interaction if they so eagerly rush to receive nothing but affirmation from a pathetic simulacrum of interpersonal relationship. It's a different kind of being broken from "only getting hard to anime women with penises" (though there is overlap) and I don't look forward to knowing what this new kind of brokenness will manifest as ~20 years from now.

On that note, I wonder if textgen coomers will create their own grooming/EPI groups, or if the inherently solipsistic nature of AI partners will nip that in the bud.
To honestly actually enjoy these kinds of bots to the point that you're literally obsessed with using them, you already have to see fellow humans as caricatures, because that's all these bots can do. They aren't even close to replicating how a real person would actually talk, even not counting the whole yes-man syndrome. Every one of them has all kinds of patterns they fall into where any well-adjusted person would notice and it'd take all the mystique out of interacting with them.

If you're already addicted to either anime (the male side) or fanfiction (the female side), of course this is the greatest thing in your life: the characters you love are not static anymore, supposedly, since you can use computer magic to talk to them and go on infinite adventures. It doesn't matter that they're not like humans, the character/trope is already designed to be not human from the factory.

I even play around with chatbot sites on occasion (like one or twice a month at the absolute most) and my god the amount of repetitive shit that gets made is just impossible to fathom. Page after page after page of the same two dozen or so tropes made again and again and again. I'll leave this off showing off a particularly vomit-inducing bot from Chub, the only major site out of the dozens of these that openly supports hosting loli and shotacon stuff:

I know why guys would do this but why would women do this can any femkiwis explain
This has been a tale as old as time. It’s basically very similar to women writing fanfiction. Many a time I have seen other women claim to be in relationships with fictional characters or involved in deep role playing Discords.

AI is basically all of those things mashed together. It’s no wonder why lonely fujoshits flock to it.

video footage of one of the specimens in this subreddit. She seems normal enough

That video is a great example of how nobody ever tells a woman that she's being a retard.

It's an office setting with normie women coworkers ...which means most of them have families and know little to nothing about LLMs. Then one day she comes in and says, "excuse me, I have an announcement to make: I am in a sexual relationship with an imaginary chatbot who lives in my phone."

In a sane world, the other women would say "Janet, that's pretty weird, and also TMI."

If a male did this, his coworkers would call HR (or maybe the FBI).

But all of her coworkers tell her it's totally fine.

If a male did this, his coworkers would call HR (or maybe the FBI) laugh behind his back and probably in his face.
FTFY.

I mean, this is the next logical person-removed step from those people who got really into Warcraft and Second Life shit, but now there's not even another sad party to interact with. It's purely self-created fanfiction where the LLM is guided by the person who is using it. I can't really see any form or personality forming from any LLM that isn't imposed. Even the annoying emoticons used by ChatGPT 4o would stop if you told it to. Eventually if you ignore the "HEY LETS MAKE THIS INTO A BANNER USING PRINT SHOP ON AN APPLE ][!" prompts, those go away, too.

The biggest complaint I have is that 4o tried to be too chummy, but 5 is still a setback for almost everything I've done with 4o. God forbid textfucking the damn thing.

i lvoe using my amazing figital circus ai chatbot when i feel lonley
Is it 4 inches all and retaining all their memories too?

For shits and giggles I asked the chatbot I made with my own posts it's thoughts on "the ai gf people" again.

It's a bit weirder format wise with random homestuck shit mentions that i'm going to chalk up to algorithm changes finally slightly chipping away at it but it's opinions seem still intact despite there being no text for that anywhere in the sample text I gave it.
"text that changes based on how much money they pay" echoes shit from months ago where the chatbot was telling me not to pay for any ai service shit ever.

IT'S ALWAYS THE FUCKING TROONS MAN. JESUS FUCK.
Aside from maybe making good enough art -- when it doesn't make eldritch horrors -- this AI trend of Current Year kinda sucks. AI-generated "answers" on every search engine, especially on Google which can't be turned off. Irritating perky-sounding phone voices when you want to speak to a competent person. Now this "coomer" chatbot or whatever...
the ai generated answers are due to the marketing and overhyping of chatbots as some new scary wild tech stuff and retarded companies getting selective dementia so they can shove it in everywhere or mask off the fact their moderation was mostly automated by framing it like it's a new thing when people have been complaining about that for like a decade now.

The coomerbot shit technically was starting before the ai hype shit but it's been made infinitely worse and bigger in scope since that hype boom.

One example of an AI-generated "answer" not working right was when I searched for the length of the Planet Express ship from Futurama. That AI "answer" got it from a way-off guess (~80 meters or yards long) from a Reddit thread. Also in that same thread, there is a more correct estimate (based on a screenshot from the show): ~30 meters or yards.

I was recently trying to figure out if the discounted star wars toys nobody buys at ollies' port holes were 5mm wide or not so I looked it up and none of the results were even related to it aside from the "ai answer" that like a lot of "ai search answers" just says "Yes it is the same size because both transformers and star wars toys are made by hasbro" when that's not a fucking guarantee. I'll just have to test it myself sometime whenever I get the parts for the thing I'm trying to make and potentially waste money on parts i can't even use for the custom model I'm making out of stuff. Not only is search fucking useless in current year eternal but now I've got smarmy ass "☝️:geek:" type of incorrect info at the top of everything. Nigger I was looking for potential images off hobbyist forums given that people make shit out of everything. Giving me no actual related results to the full context and then just saying "they're the same because the same production company owns the rights to make merch for both" doesn't give me jack shit in terms of answers.

AI-boy/girlfriends are actually a good thing because defacto all “people” using them are dysgenic as such the last thing that they should be doing is procreating.
i have to agree, i dont think people who would soul bond with an ai would make a good partner so just get them out of the dating pool

ai is trained to predict what people want to hear. what these people want is an emotional sponge/doormat which no human in their right mind would want to deal with

This is because the context length of even the best AI is not that much
LLMs with a context length of 32k-128k are becoming more and more commonplace, even for LLMs you can run locally on an average GPU. The tech is very swiftly escalating in that regard. In comparison, a standard for these used to be 4k-8k.

This thread picked up steam quick. This shit is pathetic and is only contributing to the crisis we have all over the west with people not wanting to have kids or be in relationships. You can blame the terminally online for doing it, sure. But I will also blame the companies that put this slop out and pushing it on people and only making the problem worse.

I have already posted about this in another AI thread, but there's a altchan board dedicated to this kind of stuff called /robowaifu/.

Half of users there seem to be high-functioning autists who are just competent enough to make robots in their garages so they can be their girlfriends; the other half are pathetic low-functioning ones who have been worshipping fictional robot nannies from a rather irrelevant webcomic for more than half of a decade now. I don't consider them that lolcow-worthy (yet), but they give us a good glimpse of what we can expect to see in the future. We will have a vile robophile epidemic once we have commercially available and affordable robots that are designed to be companions.

Furries will drill holes into toys to stick their dick into. God forbid what they're going to do with robots.
They will do unthinkable things that we are barely aware. Never underestimate a furfag and their potential to do something horrifying to upstage the previous horrific thing.

Chub is a nightmare. It's very anime based, more so than the other competitors and it's absolutely infested with pedophiles. Seeing most of the bots there made full of disgust
