The AI Girlfriend / Boyfriend Community - Look! The SIMP has fallen in love with the computer!

It's a mild shame I didn't get to test it to see how manipulative they were as companions (android user, lol). Otoh, maybe Grok will stop sucking so much if they shift development to actually giving Grok decent reasoning and all that.
What? You didn't spend $2k to talk to your AI companion like a normal, well adjusted adults would?

The buried lede is that the 'femcels' dating chatbots are still on Tindr, and are complaining about their dates to their AI boyfriends. In contrast, the guys who saw Gatebox as the window into a better life actually are celibate. I think, irrespective of the AI boyfriend/girlfriend numbers, the number of men who are actually off the market because of waifus is higher than the number of women who are off the market because of hasubandos.

With 2k bucks, you could get a decent computer that can run ai companions locally
The XAI stuff was never on a PC though. Legit iPad and iPhone only.

Also, the hardware required to properly run a local LLM will definitely cost you more than 2K bucks. To reach the API you don't need a 2K buck PC tho. And that's what most people do.

Aren't there ios emulators out there? I have a hard time believing that nobody's cracked that pipeline well enough to enable Twitter's gooner mode.

Maybe I'm just not in the 'right' circles, but is there anything competitive in that sphere? Like, I know you can fine-tune existing models for lewd stuff, but AFAIK Ani was integrated with something that posed the 3D model, live-ish voice generation, lip sync, and so on.

I mean, there were caveats:
  • There wasn't 4o-style integrated voice generation, just a TTS system that took emotion requests from the LLM
    • The LLM might output e.g. say({Excited: "Happy Birthday, Bob!"})
  • The animations were just a premade library that the LLM chose from and then played. There's tech that can compose entirely new dances now, so this isn't the frontier.
  • Lipsync and other things can sort of be bolted on after the fact; the core of the system was the LLM, and it used a system prompt rather than fine-tuning.
It seems like the sort of thing that a clever autist might be able to do on his own, or with the aid of an imageboard thread. The Pony Preservation Project played a part in the creation of 15.ai, after all. But overall I don't see nearly as much AI waifu stuff as I'd have expected given what the internet was saying 10 years ago.
