Unpopular opinions about food

I've seen Italians in Italy shitting on videos of Italian-American pizzerias and sandwich shops in NOO YAHWK. Lots of complaining about putting a bunch of Italian deli meats on a grinder or calling mozzerella "mootz" or fucking shaming a pizza with, for lack of a better description, cheese and stripes of pesto, red sauce, and vodka sauce because it's not authentic. Just the most petty Europoor bullshit
Do they ever sperg about the pronunciation of 'prosciutto'? I've dealt with that once or twice.

Not that I've seen personally, but wouldn't surprise me. Or sperging about prosciutto style ham like Null's cheese sperging. Which, yeah it's not as good as actual Prosciutto di Parma, but most of it's still pretty good

Italians are worse food snobs then the French. Every youtube vid about some Italian-American restaurant or sandwich shop, or Americans making Italian/Americanized Italian food, a bunch of dagos show up either complaining about how it's not proper/they don't put all those meats together in Italy/Italian-Americans aren't real Italians and their pronunciation is double plus ungood/etc. Or they glaze their nuts for being super autistic and doing it the Perfect Italian Way
This sentiment is why I support people who crack spaghetti in half, and in fact demand they do it one more time just to make them seethe. Fuck it, boil it in ketchup too while you're at it. Fuck that shit, and fuck claiming credit from about five generations ago; your bootleg Chinese noodles ain't shit. Ain't no difference in between the tube vs. the cowrie shell vs. Spongebob vs. the spiral in what it do if your purpose is to spoon cheese sauce or thick ketchup essentially into your piehole.

If it works, then it fucking works. That's my sentiment on food and in showing culinary traditions, and it's not a sin to modify or edit based on what you have and what you can be fucked with. I'm not for example going to bother with snagging their fancy pork belly version for carbonera if I can just use any high fatty pork.

By their dicktarded logic of it must be 100% traditional, they're not real italians since they don't guzzle fucking garum or use asafoetida on their chicken all day either.

They pretty much still have garum. It's called colatura di alici. It's not entirely the same but they use a lot of it.

trying to mince the clove into small enough cubes that they would melt and be imperceptible in the final product. It was largely futile in the end as I'd often still be able to perceive garlic pieces after cooking.
You were supposed to crush the garlic with the flat of your blade.

Anyway: curry is peak cuisine, particularly the Pakistani and Mughlai style dishes.

It's okay to eat pizza with a knife and fork. I don't understand what people find so appealing about getting your hands soaked in grease, it's disgusting.

I avoid jarlic for the fear of botulism alone. I never needed to conserve garlic but if I did, the frozen cubes would probably be my go-to choice. I use that for basil pesto and it works great.
I just make those myself to have ingredients for winter, but then I grow basil. I usually just press garlic fresh or use one of these on it:

Or a microplane if for some reason I'm feeling masochistic.

If I really want to get involved I roast the whole head. Just get rid of the papery stuff, don't peel, cut a bit from the top of the cloves with a sharp knife, exposing the insides, pour olive oil into it, wrap in foil, 400 degrees F for 30-40 minutes.

When it's done you can just squeeze out the garlic as a toasty slightly browned paste. Keeps for a week or so. It's delicious, sweet, and about the consistency of butter.

Most of the restaurant food portions are too big. Most times I eat in a restaurant I feel so full I can hardly move afterwards.
Yes, there are times where I just want to shovel slop down my mouth-hole, but most days I'd be fine with something maybe two thirds the usual restaurant portion size.

Outside food is expensive as hell. Call me poor, but I'm not paying 15$ for a latte when I can make one at home with 2$. Fast food uses to be cheap and "fast". Now, it's expensive and cooked with a billion chemicals. A happy meal was about 7$ in my area a few years back, currently it's 11$ and rising.

If we’re doing fruits, I do not like cantaloupe at all. It tastes bitter, sour, and slimy. I like the smell, and there’s a hint of that in the taste, but overall it’s unpleasant. I try it again every year or so because there’s very few things I don’t like.

I was going to say, isn't that how you culture botulism?

It should be legal to punch someone (even if they're a complete stranger) in the mouth if they say this. Same goes for calling it "pep" instead of "pepper".
Who does either of these things? - Fake Italians from New Jersey? The kind who can't speak a word of Dago?
