No, I think Destiny is a narcissist. As in, I think he has a genuine personality disorder. They're not dissimilar, but one of the biggest differences is that narcissists are constantly trying to feed their egos to protect against their feelings of worthlessness. It actually drives me crazy when people call him a sociopath because I think he wants people to think he's a sociopath. To young and dumb women, sociopath is probably more enticing than narcissist. I also don't think Destiny is malicious by default. I think he starts off self centered and therefore negligent or even willfully negligent, but he doesn't usually get malicious until he perceives that someone has done something to him, usually as a result of something he did.
