5 years ago now there was that epic fail that was "CHAZ" in Seattle. And all the while, coronapanic was still in full force. And 5 years after all that, there was moreAnd next month 5 years ago is when the endless George Floyd riots started.
(this post was from back on Aug 24, 2020)The local haircut place re-opened, but they caution-taped off every seat in the small waiting area save 3. Another restaurant taped off every other table. Outdoors. Also the local 7-Eleven has this advert: "Get close to a slurpee, not other customers".
Meanwhile at Target, this reminder is said over the intercom every so often that "our first priority is the health and safety of you, your families, and our team members... blah blah face mask is required blah blah 6 feet... [repetir en español]".
To combat the spread of COVID-19, the local apartment complex shut down one of the 2 pools (so everyone crowds in one), permanently locked one of the gates (so everyone has to touch the same gate), requires face masks when not swimming (why?), and you have to sign in to use the pool (with a time and occupancy limit). Almost no one follows those guidelines though. The moment you enter the school building, you have to sign some sort of sheet with your temperature and shit
And of course, everyone wears masks around here. Even before they were mandatory. Peak 2020 are the ones with logos or advertising.
