Hes miserable, doing the same thing everyday and talking to people he doesnt like or respect and he will do this until he dies. I too would be depressed at this realization. The realization has to be hitting him that he has wasted 15 years of his life. Not making lasting friendships, raising a real family, travelling the country/world, building an actual career, etc. He has pretty much nothing to show for it either. A falling apart Condo, some microphones, and RGB signs. He is pretty much universally hated on the internet, and can only survive by begging strangers for money. That would be enough for me to blow my brains out.

I don't think so. Phil has never had any choice in the matter. He's an ugly narcissistic useless lump that is repellent to everyone. He doesn't respect anyone either. The closest Phil could come to a friend is John Rambo who is a fellow shyster like him, but better at it.

Phil's main mistake was not cutting his losses once Youtube fell apart. He could have escaped without being a huge lolcow that will now have detractor retards tracking his every move. But, if Phil did that, he'd probably be forced to live with his parents again because he can't maintain a real job, so he'd still probably take this route.

Depression is lack of self-worth. Phil genuinely believes that if TIHYDP never happened, people would still love him. He thinks that if ALT and RawPhil didn't restream, he'd get all their views and money. He's not blaming himself for his failures; he blames everyone else. Phil's ego and sense of entitlement are pathological.

What DSP feels is self-pity, which is not the same thing as depression. Phil plays the victim so he can get sympathy and have someone else to blame for all his problems. He deflects criticism and doesn't accept responsibility for his own actions. The "sad boy" act is all about getting attention and making people feel sorry for him. It's also a shield that keeps him from having to accept the fact that his failures are a result of his own actions. Not the detractors, not his parents, not Twitch. He has only himself to blame, which is not a fact Phil will ever acknowledge.

Just because Phil is sad, doesn't mean he is depressed. Don't confuse self-pity with depression.

The only part I can agree with Phil on concerning blaming detractors is they utterly destroyed the algorithm for him. Unless you specifically search DSPGaming or Darksydephil, you'll never find his channel. It's 100% other channels shitting on Phil.

If I was him and doing the same content, I'd be in far cheaper countries. Could easily save 100k a year. He could come back here.. Or retire in a different country in a couple years. Plenty of people do it.

Or just stop spending so much on champions
