that doesn't mean it's wrong to criticise them for how autistic they behave.
This.
Every time someone says that the kiwifarm users are autistic stalkers needlessly following people who aren't important enough to warrant the attention, my response is "...yes?" Because it's true. None of this is important, it doesn't really matter, and we should absolutely be using our time more productively. We try to make excuses, like the fact that occasionally the light we shine ends up on someone like Nick Bate and they go to jail, but that's not really something to take pride in, it's a side effect and deep down we all know it. We're autistic stalkers (both in that we're autistic people who are stalking, and that we stalk people who are autistic). But it just doesn't matter. Because no one is productive and beneficial all the time, and it's okay to stop and indulge in some good old fashioned feeling-better-than-the-village-idiot.
People try to use "<blank> is worse than <X> so <X> is really okay" argument, and it just doesn't hold up. Phil sucks. The Sons of Kojima suck. Ardnas sucks. Null sucks. WE suck. Everyone signed up here sucks, and we know it. But we try to suck less, and the first step in that process is identifying the things that suck the most and not doing that.
Loudly highlighting someone else's flaws doesn't fix your own, and it could turn out that every single one of DSP's detractors are institutionalized mentally ill pedophiles, but it wouldn't change the fact that DSP sucks at video games (and everything else he does) and it's fun to point and laugh at him.
