Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

What specific tariffs are you referring to? I'm finding the "Smoot-Hawley" tariff act, but that was signed in 1930, after the depression had already started, so maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing.
That's the one. The great depression had already started but it had been largely isolated to the stock market and banks. Most ordinary people didn't feel it until the Smoot-Hawley tariffs came in and locked in a 30% drop in GDP by 1932 by completely killing American exports.

Secondly, weren't political affiliations inverted among the parties that far back then, so that 60 years of unshakeable democratic domination was conservative domination?
It created the New Deal Democrats. "Inverted affiliations" are a bit of an oversimplification - while the Democrats did have a deeply socially conservative wing in the south (which Nixon eventually coopted to win), the Democratic party was on the whole quite progressive. They were often slandered as the party of, "Rum, Romanism (aka Catholicism), and Rebellion" due to their anti-prohibition and pro-immigrant stances (the rebellion bit is a nod to their support in the south).

At best you can say there were two democratic parties in a loose alliance but the main party since the Progressive era has always been fairly... well, progressive. And certainly the party that went on to dominate the New Deal, WW2, and post-war eras up until the 1980s conservative resurgence was most definitely closer to the Democrats we have today (in fact it might even be more left-leaning than current dems because the dems themselves moderated a lot of their positions after getting BTFO by Reagan and Bush Sr. during the 80s).

If that's true, was the great depression isolated to American share holders, or were banks already freaking out in places like Germany, where it's economy experienced massive inflation, or did these tariffs directly led to economic fallout across the globe?

Yes

or did these tariffs directly led to economic fallout across the globe?
The US was a net exporter in this era but its export portfolio was dominated by primary products like grain/produce and fuel. On the other hand, it was a massive importer of finished manufactured goods that represented high value-added industries in the originating countries, which meant the tariffs immediately chopped off the legs of the most valuable part of many of the partner economies. Adding to this was the bank crash and the fact that US banks had been underwriting a large number of foreign banks since the end of WW1. This led to a series of economic implosions that decimated private industry in large swathes of Europe, necessitating direct government intervention.

Americans are not used to truly awful economic conditions.
Theres not an amerimutt left alive who went thru the great depression, just people who were babies and shit. The rest have no idea what bad times are, when was the last time you had shantytowns there? real slums like favelas in brazil not hobos in tents but entire families living in a shack made out of trash wood planks with no water or power, when? 80 years ago? thats what bad times look like

I never knew what it felt like to be in the shoes of a levelheaded left-leaning person who had their side of the aisle completely tarnished by the absolutely retarded minority.

Now, I do, and it sucks.

I swear these people would rationalize rape of their loved ones if Trump was the one to do it.

I think the market will go back to "normal" in some weeks (with the exception of China maybe) and then the majority will forget about this or move on to the next outrage.
The next outrage will be related to Iran or some shit.
Israel wants to make a deal, Japan wants to talk, I think things will go back to "normal".
Still a dumb foreign policy strategy imo.
Seeing some people like Tim Pool being an "eat the rich" guy now is funny

You are willing to become homeless and sucking strange's dick for spare change in order to stop "globohomo" (which your simpleton brain doesn't even know what this is) all because your simpleton brain has consumed Russian botfarm slop on social media so much that now it's become your entire personality. This is why you're an incel and women find you repulsive, little guy
This is your turf so I I'll be very polite, but please don't misunderstand me.

I am not American. My country does little trade with the US. Sanctions on Russia didn't make me homeless (somehow, Euros need Russian gas to live like an basketball american needs kfc), US great depression sure as hell won't. Neither of my jobs depend on the west, in fact they may get improved if US/Eropean union fails all around.

For years now, we had the MAGA gloat about europoors going bankrupt because they are too cozy with Russia and China, it is just nice to have the shoe drop on the other side of the fence for once. To be Hindoodoo, this feels like a big heaping of cow needful karma.
-US pushes poz and economic ruin on its allies as well as itself.
-US fools all the hohol far right into dying for (((Zelensky))), gives Europe the bag to hold.
-This gets Tangerine Tyrant elected because this doesn't work.
-Trump decides to fuck over every ally save Isreal to the point that he normalises China/Japan/Worst Korea relations. As well as endless H1 visas, saar. Oh lawdy!
-My face when keking.
More like making conservatism into such a massive joke there's going to be bashing of it for years.

(:_(
Haven't they been a joke since Bush got ousted? Principled defeat meme. I'm a nationalist who never had anything more than ildle contempt for conservaties. The are like the diet coke of the right. Plus their Jesus larp impacts my video games badly, which is unforgivable. When we kick the SJWs out, fundies creep back in. Sad, man, sad.

I guarantee these people only saw themselves as the World's ATM because Trump said so but TRUST THE PLAN

Why the fuck is he holding his rifle like a toddler would hold a toy gun? You're supposed to ALWAYS hold your palm around the handle, so your fingers would be ready to press the trigger at the moments notice. WTF would this guy do in a sudden confrontation? He would need to bring his second hand to hold the rifle, so that he could move the his left arm (left handed?) to the handle, then readjust his right arm to hold the rifle from the bottom and then aim. After a million years pass of him swindling with his arms to get his rifle into position (if he doesn't drop it out of panic) he'd already be turned to Swiss cheese.

This dude never had any military training (although his lard sticking out from under his hoodie should've been an obvious enough sign already). Thank god he at least had common sense to hold his weapon downwards, so in the event of accidental discharge, it wouldn't hit anybody.

I didnt know this but Biden didnt remove Trump's tariff (China) during his period on the White House.
It seems that if Dems win in 2028 not all tariffs will go away, apparently protectionism will present one way or another.
Hopefully im wrong.

"Back to normal" yea sure, the only ones offering a deal right now is the EU for a mutual 0% tariff but then all the jerbs you guys expected are gonna go to moldova and the like which have wages that make mexico look like monaco

No, Biden kept most of the Trump era tariffs. The only ones he backed down on were those on Europe due to the Ukraine situation.

This is probably partly why the current tariff policy is so unhinged - Biden was already keeping the old tariffs around so Trump had to make them retarded to look like he's doing something.

EDIT: Oh, I misread your post as you asking if Biden had removed the tariffs. Yeah, protectionism is in vogue across the political spectrum in the US. It's just a matter of how retarded.

Yeah, it was a mistake by Biden, too. Tariffs are stupid for the most part. There's a few cases where they make sense but just blanket tariffs are beyond retarded

Once tariffs go up its almost impossible to remove them because its free money for politicians of all parties who then get to steal it with schemes, they dont give a fuck if it craters an entire sector of the economy in the process
