Yeah I would say this is less an issue with the pardon nullifying the search, and more with the way the law can sometimes cause frustrating issues with whether evidence is admissible or not. Watch enough true crime and you're sure to find amazing evidence being inadmissible, or simply being barred from being talked about in court. This is how the system works, and its sometimes inconvenient.
