I just thought that since a lot of early internet memes and trends were rather repetitive that his would have gone viral had they been more prominent during that era. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think if he had been more prominent on YouTube or something in 2005 or so, then he might of had some sort of success. In regards to him focusing on his ministry, I was simply referring to the message he gives at the end of his performances. Would he be a revered preacher? Probably not, but he woukd probably have more success as a preacher than with the Jolly Cat.
Not trying to defend him at all but just giving my thoughts.
