The trailer wasn't repulsive like the last 2 JW movies were, but the plot sounds more or less like a modified Lost World. That 'other island' shit again, blah.

Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived.
Reminder that the dinosaurs were off the island in Dominion because some dumbass clone little girl freed them all because "they're just like me!"

Wonder how the little shit would feel that they all fucking died and also caused ecological terrorism, easily the worst Jurassic character in that entire franchise

I would love to see the human-dinosaur supersoldier/weapon become a reality because it makes sense governments/armies are going to want near-indestructable war machines if just to lessen the number of boots on the ground, although it would still bring in the dumbass dino activists that cannot be written well in this day-and-age.

The problem is this is modern Hollywood and they had their shot to be this experimental decades ago. I don't know who the fuck is in charge of the Jurassic franchise in Universal right now, but they're going in way over their heads with this. Just do a story on little Timmy and his dumbass parents learning the hard way his pygmy dinosaur pet is a terrible pet choice, I wanna see that storyline.

Just fucking why. I saw it randomly on a feed thinking "this isn't possible" after Dominion was a fucking embarrassment. Turns out it is real, now I want a film industry crash.

Why the hell is there a "When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth" bannner falling down? Like obviously I know this is a painfully stupid membaberry but what is the excuse in-universe?
They've become self aware that they are movie characters in a long running franchise and put that banner up because they are nostalgic for a park they never had a chance to step foot in and because Universal told them to.

I maintain my point of this shit indicating the movie is going to be phenomenally bad because for fuck sake a pack of swimming spinosauruses teaming up with a mosasaur is so fucking stupid.
Is it any less stupid than a Velociraptor teaming up with a T-Rex? The Jurassic World movies were all made by people with absolutely no understanding of genetics, animal behaviour, animal intelligence, ecosystems or the military. It's no surprise this is likely going to be given the same braindead treatment the others were.

Why're you complaining about cloned extinct animals not having the instincts to stick to their own kind? Even in the book, the Raptors didn't have the instinct to know not to tear apart their own babies for the evulz.

Because two carnivores deciding to go WWE Superslam on Tranny RexRaptorJellyfish was retarded. Animals don't behave that way. You might find predators opportunistically attacking the same weakened animal, but not in tandem, and not in a situation where one leaps off the other to get in their acrobatics. I pointed it out to illustrate that it wouldn't be the first time a Jurassic film had two completely different species of dinosaurs working together when they very likely wouldn't. Hell, they did the exact same thing at the end of Dominion for the Giganotosaurus iirc.

As for Raptors killing their own babies - it's not so ridiculous. Cannibalism is certainly something animals will do - to kill off rival young, to alleviate stress, etc. Obviously the book got things wrong like the Tyrannosaurus's vision being based off movement, but I'll take it over some of the blatantly dumb shit that happened in later installments.

Rebirth looks terrible.
Did some digging around and found that on Faggit, there was an alleged plot leak for this movie. This leak happened on Sunday, December 29th last year, and it's been surprisingly accurate so far. Gonna post it here without spoilering it, I don't want to give reddit traffic, and if you get upset about a trash movie being spoiled than you're gay.

Jurassic World: Rebirth - Plot Leak (Updated)

This is an update to this post from about a week ago. Since then some more info has come out from a Reddit post that was deleted (account as well). Could be a bunch of lies but merchandise leaks should be coming soon, as well as a trailer, so we will find out soon enough!
Before we get started, some minor addendums to the previous post,
  • No mention of the Purrusaurus. However, there is a dinosaur whose generic base is from an unspecified species so there may be some hope.
  • Adding on to the above, it’s the Spinosaurus that attacks the family on the boating expedition.
  • More additional returning dinosaurs and design change additions. Details will be below!

Returning, New, And Redesigned, Dinosaurs

Returning

  • Compsognathus, Apatasaurus, Ankylosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Pteranodon.

Redesigned

  • Triceratops: Looks like a mix between the JP / JW Designs with a focus on its osteoderms.
  • T-Rex: Looks like a mix between Buck and Rex’s with a bit of a stockier face. It’s brown with dark stripes.
  • Velociraptor: Will be more gray in color but it has a colorful face and quills similar to the JP3 designs.
  • Quetzalcoatlus: Similar to the previous design but smaller and with a colorful hornbill inspired beak / face.
  • Mososaurus: Slimmer / torpedo shapes and greener. It looks more like an actual Mososarus with some of its more crocodilian features taken away.
  • Spinosaurus: Looks like a mix between fallen kingdom’s Baryonix and the modern rendition of a Spinosaurus. It has an M shaped sail, paddle like tail, and a bit stockier. Its color scheme is similar to fallen kingdom’s Allosaurus.

New

  • Titanosaurus: Similar to the brachiosaurus but bigger than a Dreadnoughtus. It has a smooth / shiny dome on its head as well as small fin spines on the top of its neck and hips. It also has a long thin tail. It’s a dark color with orange highlights.
  • Aquilops: The “marketing dinosaur”. About the size of a cat, they tag along with the group (who gives them a nickname). It’s orangish with black stripes down its tail with quills.
  • Maiasaurus: Nothing too crazy. Similar but better than its JWE design.
  • D——— Rex: The mutant dinosaur (full name wasn’t given), made by accident by trying to clone a different species. Smaller than the Rex it has 6 limbs (4 arms and 2 legs) and is apparently based on real science examples of imperfect replication. We will refer to it as D.Rex below.
  • TBD: Another failed clone based on a new species (maybe this is the Purrusaurus). It’s smaller than the D.Rex and is apparently Xenomorph inspired.

Plot Outline

  • 5 Years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planets ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those who wandered away from the equator developed a disease that carries the risk of spreading to humans. The dinosaurs that remain exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the ones they once thrived in.
  • Zora Bennett and her team is sent out to retrieve genetic samples from the Titanosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, and Mososaurus in order to create a vaccine. They are after these specific dinosaurs because the bigger ones are more resilient and by targeting land, sea, and air, they can make a more flexible vaccine.
  • Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition (by an illegal island) is capsized by a Spinosaurus. It’s possible that the crew crashed here after their boat was attacked by a Mososaurus (it does get attacked but the leak didn’t mention whether it’s before or after they end up on the island).
  • The island they end up on is an old Ingen testing ground. It was abandoned due to failed “company ending” mistakes. So they swept it under the rug leaving everything to die. However, this became a dumping ground for misplaced species.
  • There is some character drama, Duncan has brotherly love for Zora but doesn’t trust Loomis who does fall for Zora. They both think they are in charge of the crew. Martin they don’t trust, and there is a traitor in their crew who wants to give the samples to another company.
  • The final fight is at night. The crew is trying to escape the island but are being hunted by the mutant D.Rex. At the docks, the Spinosaurus and the D.rex fight it out. Said to be one of the best fights in the franchise.

Should probably suggest it be taken with a grain of salt, but it did predict the mutant dinosaur. Given that the world movies have all ended with a big dinosaur fight, the "Hero Spino" is something I can believe. Scarlett Johansson looks like she's seen better days. She's pretty ugly in this movie.

Also
Two-headed Raptor.jpg
the folks here don't seem to have noticed yet, but the raptor in this shot has two heads. So this confirms that there are multiple mutant dinosaurs in this. Looks like this is the new gimmick the tards in charge of this franchise are going with to try and shake things up. Instead of hybrid dinosaurs that combine a bunch of different animals together, they're now going with mutant dinosaurs and failed clones. How original.

Similar to what Holden said, this movie is shaping up to be such a dumpster fire that I kind of want to see it. I'll probably pirate it and watch a torrent once a quality one shows up.

Why the hell is there a "When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth" bannner falling down? Like obviously I know this is a painfully stupid membaberry but what is the excuse in-universe? Like I get that it looks like the area is being set up/taken down by the crew there but.....fuck it who cares. We all know what this shit is and what quality we can expect
This reminds me of that one scene in the first Jurassic World, where those 2 kids come across the old visitor's centre. Maybe it's cuz of the piano in the background, but that scene really stuck out to me. I mean yeah it's nostalgiabait, but I feel it's one of those instances where nostalgiabait was done right, regardless of how you feel about the movie as a whole.

Though from the looks of it, the new movie probably isn't gonna be able to pull it off anywhere nearly as well and will probably fuck it up big time.

Y'know, this isn't a bad set-up to explore disease-bourne dinosaurs. Again, more consequences of humans playing God in bringing in unknown deadly diseases.

The island they end up on is an old Ingen testing ground. It was abandoned due to failed “company ending” mistakes. So they swept it under the rug leaving everything to die. However, this became a dumping ground for misplaced species.
Wasn't this what Isla Sorna essentially is to begin with? I guess if they have to retread old ground, might as well be Lost World.

The final fight is at night. The crew is trying to escape the island but are being hunted by the mutant D.Rex. At the docks, the Spinosaurus and the D.rex fight it out. Said to be one of the best fights in the franchise.
I want my Spino-boi to be redeemed more than anyone, but this remains to be seen due to build-up. If it's already a mess coming out of the gate, it wouldn't matter how the final battle goes even if this is all fans want at the end of the day. Supposedly Dominion was to have one of the best dino confrontations in the series, and look how that turned out.

So we get it, humans are monsters for just doubling down on cloning and experimentation in creating literal affronts to nature when that was already established in the first series. Whoever was in charge of these particular hybrid experiments obviously deserves the cruelest, goriest death in this movie, and Dr. Wu for some reason lived last movie. Maybe this time for sure he can get what he deserves, unless they're just going to chicken out with another big bad corpo dude so Wu can continue to not face the music.

Goddamn it they might as well have just gone with the human-dino supersoldier idea.

Yeah right. I'm sure it'll involve the D.Rex using its arms Goro style and beating on the Spino with a dino-sized chair.

As someone mentioned earlier, the Mosasaurus isn't a dinosaur, and neither are pterosaurs (i,e.: Quetzalcotlus), so in reality they're only getting the sample of ONE dinosaur and two other prehistoric animals. It remains to be seen if they're aware of that.

I hope that at least the next JW Evolution game is good, so something positive may come out of this.

This is the same fucking climax as the last film and the first Jurassic World. Can these writers think of a proper climax besides a big stupid fight scene between two theropods? At least The Lost World had something unique with the T. rex rampaging through San Diego.

The member berries had not overstayed their welcome at the time and collin knew how to really get you in the feels with jurassic world. The scene of the big reveal of the whole park will forever one of the happiest memories in my life.
Wu can continue to not face the music.
I still don't get why of all the legacy characters they turned into villians was dr wu one of them? He had a bigger role (and died) in the original book so I'd say it's compensating for how downplayed he was in the first movie, but unrepentantly evil was not his personality in the book. Hell book wu wanted to try making new Dinosaurs that would be even more docile and tame than the ones they had but book Hammond wanted his park open as soon as possible, ethics and safety be damned.

There is only one good Jurassic film in the franchise (the original). The others are just exercises in mental retardation.
Lost World could have been just as good IMO were it not for the retarded fucking script and character writing. The visuals/sets/effects and acting were all on point but the barebones concept needed tweaking and the scripting entirely rewritten. Also the annoying kid needed to be ditched.

Jurassic Park 3 could have been ok if.....ya know.....it was not twice as retarded as the previous movie script/character wise and half of the actors were either removed or recast. Also the annoying kid needed to be ditched.

Honestly Jurassic World would be near unsalvageable from being enjoyable trash at best without massively rewriting and restructuring everything and nipping the fucking Hybrid plot in the bud. Also the annoying kids needed.....well you get my point.

From the consensus of dinospergs it seems having the movies be more gritty and horror focused like the darker parts of the first movie and Lost World is the most popular concept for unshitting things in the franchise, which is fair given how the franchise went down the toilet when it ditched the last trappings of dino-horror to become crappy dino-action.

I reaaaaaaally hate to say it but I think the only hypothetical future the franchise has is a more accurate re-adaptation of the original book, specifically as a straight horror and probably in the format of a miniseries. I know if this was optioned it would have a 90% chance of being absolute fucking shit but at this point I would take those odds

Eh, I can cut them some slack over that since at the end of the day, these movies are, at their core, just Hollywood monster flicks. When watching a Jurassic Park movie, most people typically expect something that resembles a cross between Godzilla, Jaws and Pokemon. Though a TV series that focuses on the dinosaurs' more animal side while being raised captivity might be pretty interesting.

it's the name/ad of an exhibition. the first "gimmick" of the OG park was that it's basically a museum of natural sciences but instead of skeletons and fossils it's actual dinosaurs. which made the pun in the very first movie that much better.
sure it's a hard memberberry, but in a museum where the dude is apparently working it's not uncommon.

Lost World could have been just as good IMO were it not for the retarded fucking script and character writing. The visuals/sets/effects and acting were all on point but the barebones concept needed tweaking and the scripting entirely rewritten. Also the annoying kid needed to be ditched.
majority of jurassic movies in a nutshell

tbh at least in 3 the kid had "some" relevance instead of being a walking plot device, and being stuck there for months was a neat background.

because BD Wong ended up being a huge actor, this was one of his first roles ever and he became a very huge tv star in the years since JP, him being a legacy character is just the icing on the cake. its not like the star wars cast where if you don't know the franchise you don't really care about carrie fisher, BD Wong being on some fairly big tv shows while also doing these films means plenty of Wong fans might end up seeing him in the ads and go to the film because of him.

Its like how that Harry Potter sequel includes cedric because the guy playing him became an alist star.

Beyond that it also sort of fits into the whole "story" of JP as well. if the IT guy was getting fucked over on pay to the point of selling out to rivals, i'm sure the scientists were also similarly fucked over and immoral. Its like how every villian in Resident evil seems to have worked for umbrella for awhile there.
