2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

You can’t just annex parts of other countries, even if the residents ask for it. In the same way, parts of countries can’t just claim independence, even if the residents ask for it. If these things were considered acceptable then it would cause pandemonium as borders would change every year and migration would explicitly be weaponized like never before.
Though obviously the Druze have legitimate reasons to not want to be in Syria right now and I would have no moral problems with them seceding or joining Israel, though the latter option would make Israel-Syria relations even worse.
There's no real state in Syria atm and also yes you fucking can. We did it with texas

That was before the UN, and Geneva, defined taking land as an official Act of Aggression, effectively freezing international borders without the permission of the Security Council.
It's a legacy of the Cold War, aka The Great War part 3.

The annexation of Texas was a hot debate for decades, was preceded by Texas’ independence for a decade, and still led to a war with Mexico and was a prime example of the weaponization of immigration (which we would see repeated in California, Alaska, and Hawaii). I think it just proves my point, annexing parts of neighboring countries (even if they are nonfunctional) causes big problems, even if the people want to be annexed

biden just pardonned hamas leader brother from us jail.
israel security cabinet has a special meeting tmr at 4 pm(israel time) last time they had that we got the hezb ceasefire.

Leftist activist arrested after vandalizing a monument for a soldier fallen on October 7th By Asaf Pozailov, December 13th 2024

Andrey Karchanovski, a Russian Oleh and leftist activist, filmed himself sticking a “Free Palestine” sticker on the monument a week and an half ago. Father of Captain Shiloh who is immortalized by the monument: “the word ‘blasphemy’ is too big, the right word is villainy”

Andrey Karchanovski, a far left activist, was arrested yesterday (Thursday) following footage he filmed of himself sticking a “Free Palestine” sticker on a monument in Sderot for the memory of Captain Shiloh Cohen, who was killed on October 7th fighting in Kibbutz Be’eri. Karchanovski spent the night in jail.

Karchanovski, a Russian Oleh, filmed himself sticking the sticker on the monument at the lookout 10 days ago. Following the release of the footage, a complaint against him was filed to the police and yesterday he was arrested, while sitting at a cafe in Tel Aviv.
He spent the night in jail, and was released earlier today on the condition he would not visit the monument for the next month, and on bail of 15 thousand NIS (4180 USD). This is after the HaShalom courthouse in Ashkelon ruled that contrary to police claims, he is not dangerous.

His lawyer claimed this is a matter of freedom of speech, which includes things that might be unpleasant to hear, but this is not a criminal matter. He added the sticker disappeared from the location and therefore cannot be labeled vandalism. The police is supposed to announce later today whether they will choose to appeal the court’s decision.

Captain Shiloh Cohen Z”L, killed at Kibbutz Be’eri at age 24

Arye, father of Captain Shiloh told our journalist: “the word ‘blasphemy’ is too big, the right word is villainy. When someone can take a place meant to tell the story of the heroes who fell in this war, and turn it into a place that enables extremism, ridiculous, it’s not welcome. It’s essentially exploitation of the true democracy of Israel. Abusing freedom of speech to say such vile things, if there’s justice - this guy needs to get his punishment, to be judged, so everyone will see and hear that you cannot do something like this to the IDF soldiers”.

Captain Shiloh Cohen Z”L, 24 years old from Sderot, served in Shaldag. On October 7th he was armed with his personal pistol when he realized terrorists infiltrated the area. He left his home in a hurry with his brother’s weapon. At Sderot junction he met by chance fighters of Sayeret Matkal and with them a friend who was with him in officer training, he asked to join them. With these fighters he didn’t know, he cleared a few houses and fought in Kibbutz Be’eri. At 17:20 he was killed in Kibbutz Be’eri. The forces successfully rescued a teen of the family who lived in that house, and the fighters got him into the bathroom and secured him, but his father and mother were murdered. His father’s body was not found.

Yeah, of course, he's gay. What'd you expect? his partner:

Why are faggots all the same. Why must the bite the hand that feeds them?

Former Leader of Hayʼat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and now Leader of the Syrian Transitional Government, Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, who currently leads the new Administration in parts of Syria, has declared that Syrian Territory will not be used for attacks against Israel. This follows Israel's decision to expand Settlements in the Golan Heights and ongoing Strikes on Syrian Targets. al-Jolani also reaffirmed his commitment to the 1974 Syria-Israel Agreement, highlighting ongoing Diplomatic Efforts amid Regional Tensions.

If this is true, then Israel won everything, Bibi won everything, and Iran's nuclear program is on overdrive.

If this is true then I'm really impressed by how much Jolani has moderated in the last decade. He actually has some real grievances with Israel, his family is from the Golan heights and fled when Israel conquered it, he chose his name based on the Golan (Jawlan) heights. If he's willing to not fight a pointless (and unwindable) war to get the Golan heights back to Syria that shows he's actually committed to making Syria better and not jihad. I really, really want to be optimistic about this new Syrian government

A good leader is one who can moderate himself. Radicals tend to get killed, mainly through their own actions.

Not sure how to best format this, but there is a video going around of speech by a Syrian Druze leader from Hader where he says 6 Druze villages in the Quneitra region have voted to ask Israel to annex them. They want to stay under IDF protection, as they are afraid of jihadists in an unpredictable Syria.

The caption says basically what I said above.
Yea can't do that lol

You'd need to do a referendum and have Syria agree to it and sign it off, which they won't
