2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

they only entered the UN buffer zone
Was Hermon part of that? I doubt they'll leave that anytime soon, if ever.

Edit: I finally found a map, looks like it was.

Not sure how to best format this, but there is a video going around of speech by a Syrian Druze leader from Hader where he says 6 Druze villages in the Quneitra region have voted to ask Israel to annex them. They want to stay under IDF protection, as they are afraid of jihadists in an unpredictable Syria.

Totally understandable as well as reasonable.

But expect this to be one of the cases of self determination that the west and international order refuses to support. Especially from the people who bitch most about how the UK divided up the ME.

is it really colonalism/settlerism if the people ASK to join? lmao. How will the Jew-haters spin this now?

But in all honesty it is probably the best thing for them. They know for a fact their brothers on the Israeli side are treated well and with respect, are part of a major western nation, having the backing of the government and the military who have and will hunt down those who harm them (see rocket attack on the soccer field for my example) AND I don't need to leave my house? If I were them I would 1000% take it.

I don't get why Israel doesn't just do the deal, release a bunch of mega terrorists and then proceed to bomb them to oblivion while re-entering Gaza once the last hostage has crossed back to Israel.

If you ask me, Israel shouldn't give a fuck about the international community's feelings when they dupe a literal terrorist organization into submission.

Better yet, just shove a bunch of explosives up their arse and detonate them when the hostages are returned.

too much disinformation for anyone who doesn't have relatives in the area (or is able to speak to some locals somehow) to actually know the reality of what's going on.

to put it another way. If you asked anyone in the american/canadian media about inflation, they would tell you it's increased. If you ask any normal person, they'll tell you it's INSANE and everyone is suffering.

This canadian journalist has been covering palestine since 2007.

is it me or it looks like the idf is cleaning house in gaza before announcing deal before christmas?
theyve been going quite hard on so so target(school with <<militants>> ) etc last few days.

one big last clean up before ceasefire it feels like to me.

These people would die of shock if they saw an actual carpet bombing campaign.
And the lesbians who then come in to eat said carpet
They will always exist but how powerful will they be? Look at the KKK (third gen) they were lynching negros now they're barely a group.
When was the last time the KKK actually did something relevent?

I don't see what's wrong with this.

That's exactly why I used them as an example.

As a national political force? idk 1926-1932 maybe?

As a general violent threat with local support? I'd say maybe the early 1970s. There is good evidence that white nationals were involved in the Oklahoma City bombing of the 1990s and that mcvay didn't act alone.

trump hostage specialist is coming to israel on wednesday, we could likely see a conclusion to the deal talks before end of next week so that biden and trump can look good on christmas.
from what I understand, trump team is offering the best deal possible to hamas right now,if they dont take it now,its only gonna get worse for them.

You can’t just annex parts of other countries, even if the residents ask for it. In the same way, parts of countries can’t just claim independence, even if the residents ask for it. If these things were considered acceptable then it would cause pandemonium as borders would change every year and migration would explicitly be weaponized like never before.
Though obviously the Druze have legitimate reasons to not want to be in Syria right now and I would have no moral problems with them seceding or joining Israel, though the latter option would make Israel-Syria relations even worse.
