A former Al Queda dude who is leading a diverse coalition of armed groups with very different ideas about what should come next, with opposing international backers are surely going to form a stable rule.

The fighting isn’t going to stop. Syria will likely continue to be a bloody proxy battlefield for at least the next decade. Assad fucked off on a jet, and I get why some are glad that he’s out of the picture for now, but any notion of lasting stability and peace in Syria in wake of this is completely delusional.

Depending on how the details turn out, this could help speed rush a future peace with Israel like so many of their arab neighbors. I mean it's a long shot in the short term if it did happen, but it is something Israel should at least consider. A friendly and stable syria helps them a whole of a lot more.
