Morally speaking the bad deal is the one where thousands of people die every day so I'll agree on that. I'm more talking about Russia's insistence on what a post deal Ukraine can do.
I mean that’s just geopolitical reality.

How would the US react if Cuba set up nuclear missiles on their own soil? We’ve been there already.

The US would react exactly the same if Mexico entered a military alliance with say Russia and China.
Russia wants the land it claims and to ensure Ukraine can never rebuild or make strong partnerships with NATO or the EU.
First of all Russia has no real problem with Ukraine joining the EU. (Not that they’ll ever let them in, but hypothetically.)

It’s NATO that’s the problem, since it means American missiles a few minutes of flight time from Moscow.

Secondly: Russia has plenty of land. It doesn’t need any more. The original Russian demands said nothing about border changes.

Obviously they do now, since the longer it goes on, the higher the price will be for Ukraine.

That makes Trump look weak because it's simply a bad deal for Ukraine.
And continuing the war till Russian tanks roll into Kiev will somehow look BETTER?

It won’t make Trump looking weak to say: “Sorry, the previous administration screwed the pooch. We have no interest in Ukraine. We will send them zero arms, zero money, but would gladly mediate a possible peace treaty.

All this “It makes the US look weak” is just neocon bullshit. Plenty of things “make the US look weak”. Afghanistan… Having Israel walk all over the Biden administration.

The problem isn’t “looking weak” the problem is getting involved in overseas bullshit that isn’t vital to American interests.

The war on terror made the “US look weak” since it costs a trillion dollars and ended in a wet fart. Yet somehow you don’t hear neocons cry about that one.

Earlier you said the federal government shouldn't be allowed to make nationwide election rules even if half the states decided to have no electoral security whatsoever and even made it legal for illegal immigrants to vote. So which is it?
Rules about elections and literally enslaving other humans are different issues and a sufficient number of Americans at the time, and before, abhorred the practice. Slavery is wrong.

Taurus is the pinnacle of Brazilian gunsmithing, forged from the finest reclaimed sheet metal stolen from your neighbor Ignacio's favela shack.
Taurus began by buying used Beretta tooling in the 70s-1990s and making quality clones of their pistols and smgs.
They also unfortunately bought Rossi (which made quality shotguns and revolvers) and then gutted the company.

I think their issue began in the late 90s when they wanted to leave their Beretta 92 legacy and start designing their own pistols which they started with the 24/7 line of Glock clones, which were so bad and dangerous that they killed dozens of officer or civilians because it either had failed sears allowing for run off full auto or firing if you shook them, like pulling them from a holster.

It was so bad they forced the government and the army to allow the local state polices to import firearms for the first time in history.
You think you get shitty Taurus guns? Imagine in a country where they are the monopoly and they basically have immunity from lawsuits until it killed enough cops to make the federal government stop covering their asses.

David Pakman said you need to pay him.
He's a faggot. The fact that he mentioned that a group of white young Trump voters were "uninformed" about inflation and gas prices since inflation is down since pre-pandemic levels shows that there's no introspection and self-assessment. Gas prices have risen since the pandemic. But he bitches over losing 5,000 subscribers.

So only the state is allowed slaves? So communism then?
Kind of yes.

If a nigger is convicted of a crime they are imprisoned and made legal slaves. Government (ostensibly) represents the people. So you are a negro owner by association.
I mean, don't do the crime, don't do the time. Don't like it, don't steal shit. Want rights? Don't be a nigger gangbanger that steals and kills people. Prison is supposed to be harsh. Be a slave bish, i don't care, you killed 27 childeren and crippled 5.
A DMZ only kicks the can down the road and potentially makes a true peace more expensive in the long run. A timeline like 20 years is honestly way too bad for Ukraine, it's an empty platitude because Russia can regenerate it's military on that time scale. Maybe they're hoping Russia implodes before then but that's not only more dangerous for global peace, it's also probably not going to happen. A DMZ is probably a realistic outcome but fuck me if it doesn't feel like a shit show waiting to happen.
Its only what ive heard. It will likely evolve over time.
Same is true of the UK. I was never taught of the House of Lords/Commons, nor was I taught about the Left/Right Auth/Lib axes.

Though personally. I probably wouldn't even go into politics until you cover a few other key concepts first.

If I ever somehow got called up and they went "yeah we saw you on Kiwifarms and want you to rewrite the curriculum", I would say "okay, don't even fucking teach a single lesson of politics until you've done lessons on cognitive biases, logical fallacies, ethical frameworks and some very basic philosophy".

We have people lecturing you about politics who can't even tell you why burden of proof lies on the person making the claim rather than the person refuting it. Teaching people how to think and reason out new ideas just isn't on the curriculum most of the time.
Well there is a reason the Federal government likes this situation and doesn't like the states teaching civics. Niggercattle are easy to control. If you don't know your rights the system can use and abuse you, because that also means they have blunted your critical thinking skills from a early age. Thing is I actually was taught civics in my state. My teacher was great. I miss that class. It wasn't really even about the politics in there, it was about "this is the system, here is your rights, this is how you make a informed decision and not just be a brainlet when it comes time to vote". It was actually a unbiased class I appreciate quite a lot the older i get.

Liberals live in this bizarro world where they can have a rightfully elected president thrown in prison and no one would have an issue with it.
These are the exact same people who claim to believe that the SC decision on executive privilege means that Trump could order Seal Team 6 to kill them in their homes. Of course, that "belief" and this one don't need to be reconciled since they can't hold more than one thought in their heads at a time.

First of all Russia has no real problem with Ukraine joining the EU. (Not that they’ll ever let them in, but hypothetically.)

They absolutely didn't want Ukraine in the EU. They had free trade with Ukraine and tariffs on the EU. If Ukraine had joined the EU back in 2014, it would have created a lot of headaches with goods being dumped on their market. Economic alliances are pretty complicated..

Merchan is simply gonna toss the case. Even he isn't dumb enough to ignore the fact that it completely backfired, sentencing Trump now is pointless, delaying sentencing 4 years is pointless, and it's gonna get tossed on appeal anyway if he doesn't toss it

Trump has not been convicted until Merchan declares the jury's verdict offishul and final. He has the power to reject the verdict and either dismiss the case or give a directed verdict of acquittal. He will reject the verdict and then dismiss the case

I am genuinely convinced these people are incapable of asking the question "and then what"
Scenario 1 Trump goes to prison this a minor inconvenience but he's still president in prison, a prison which let's face it, he will have all to himself, and really the hell of prison is the sort of people who go there.
Scenario 2 Trump goes to prison and is declared unfit for office this is a "Moral victory" but you've given Vance a term and a massive head start on 2028.
Scenario 3 Trump goes directly to jail, does not pass go, does not collect 200$. Neither he nor anyone in his administration becomes president the civil war starts here which brings us to another "And then what"

In case of a civil war everyone will lose something but most Department of defense war games show the blue team losing everything.

The funny thing is, they probably can't even if they wanted to (they don't) and tried (they can't). I'm going to crosspost myself with the extant of the current legal clusterfuck.

IANAL, but a Judge has the authority to set aside a jury verdict of guilty, and if he hasnt been sentenced yet, that might still be on the table.
What I think he could do is just sentence him and give him no time. That way they'd still have their 'convicted felon' talking point without the logistics and headache of actually sending him to prison

Judge Merchan is in a real fix here. Either choice is going to look bad and lead to issues at the appeal stage.

I'm not familiar with New York law in specific, but under common law the standard for setting aside the jury verdict is based on a"no reasonable jury with the law and facts presented could have found them guilty" standard which is almost never used because cases that meet that kind of high standard get felted well before deliberation. So the question becomes why the fuck would the judge have allowed it to get to a verdict in the first place - and Merchan would have to explain his reasoning for all the very slanted rulings he made. (Like his jury instructions that ignored the Supreme Court's instruction and basically command the jury find Trump guilty.) If he doesn't walk a very fine line and turn his tongue silver, he could actually end up facing consequences beyond just the bad press. This is not the end, though, because BOTH sides can appeal this decision, and would be motivated to do so - Bragg would like to keep his conviction, and Trump would like to show the whole thing was unlawful. More on that below.

Option two, he tries to sentence Trump. If he gives Trump no time, then it again confirms this was a political hit job and fuels future purges, while probably setting Merchan up to get whacked by some insane Antifa loon. If he tries to sentence Trump to jail, that unleashes a shitstorm that will keep Trump from being incarcerated - at the very least pending appeal, because:
1. Trump will ask for, and be granted a stay when the defendant is likely to succeed at appeal and also
2. Trump would further move for a suspension of his sentence or outright quash as being in prison would interfere with the Federal office to which he has ascended. Due to the hierarchical structure of the government, the Federal level interests trumps State authority, and in this case a State's interest in keeping the now President locked up for paperwork crimes cannot possibly outweigh the national, Federal interest in having a President that can freely travel and execute the duties of the office to which they have been elected by the nation. This is the basic underlying logic behind such ideas as 'you can't indict a sitting president' you might have heard before.

Which brings us to the shitshow that will be the appeal to the New York Court, which will be a brutal filing that is going to tear the trial judge apart for massive amounts of reversible error. (Not just on immunity, there are a lot of other issues but immunity is the biggest one since the SC made a ruling about it.) Its going to bring an incredible amount of scrutiny down on the judge, and put the appeals court in a real Morton's Fork. None of their options are good.
1. They dismiss the case as being improperly brought due to immunity issues, which is going to make them and Merchan look like fucking morons for not staying proceedings until the Supreme Court gave guidance. The Appeals Court even had the chance to intervene, and declined, so its egg on their face as well.
2. They send it back to be retried and in the course make the trial judge look like a total dipshit asshole as well as themselves since they denied all interlocutory appeals. Trying to actually move this case forward under the Supreme Court's guidance would be practically impossible, but if they order it be done its going to be another shitshow that will generate tons of political capital....for Trump.
3. Or they rubber stamp the entire affair and send to the Supreme Court, who will be extremely pissed off that they have to waste their time dealing with the bullshit caused by multiple lower judges ignoring the SC's opinion.

There may be a way, theoretically, to thread the needle and somehow charge a President for a set of criminal actions that started before his Presidency and continued into it. (Hard to say, because the issue is so legally convoluted because the Supremes were trying to deal with the sheer idiot levels involved.) I use the word theoretically with optimism, because even imagining the most brilliant legal mind presented with the clearest set of legal facts, would likely decide to simply not pursue any post-election charges just to avoid the issue as cleanly as possible. Why walk blindfolded into a yard full of rakes when you can just....not do that?

Instead of doing that, Bragg decided that he was going to charge for all the checks cut while Trump was in office. A risky move, but potentially salvageable if he just refused to touch anything close to the White House or the actual Presidency. The only problem is that at every stage he used White House material to make the case move forward. He brought official White House communications and depositions from staff to the Grand Jury just to get the indictments. At trial he called as witnesses more White House personnel to grill them about conversations in the White House during the Trump Presidential term. All kinds of testimony, documents, and other evidence that is absolutely verboten (by the Supreme's Opinion) is woven into the fabric of this entire case from start to present.

On top of that, the judge in the case was so eager to railroad Trump that he also ignored and actively downplayed the potential issues. At every step of the way, Trump's legal team was filing their objections and making the very reasonable request to delay proceedings until they had guidance from the Supreme Court. Not only did the judge deny these requests, he went so far as to scold the lawyers for making the objections - as if they were frivolous. The judge could have just put everything on hold until a framework was defined, but he barreled on through regardless and now is in a real shitty situation.

What about all the innocent White people in prison? Or people who are only "guilty" because they're political prisoners, like Douglas Mackey who was sent to jail for posting a Hillary meme on Twitter?

It makes the US look weak
What does make the US look weak, however, is a president that can't align words together during a basic debate, fucks up policies left and right, has a limpdick VP that can't be bothered to run a campaign, and having zero border security.

Anybody saying Trump would look weak by enforcing his will is retarded.

in the USPG thread that was a 1 week thread ban, probably not a terrible idea to bring that back since this thread seems to be the replacement for now
glowies are annoying and borderline disruptive in the USPG thread because it’s not publicly visible and most people who spend time in A&N at least have some inoculation to the brain worms that make them susceptible to globohomo and feminism

in this public facing thread they at least serve the purpose of showing people how to laugh at obvious government operatives and how easily their doom faggotry is argued against

What about Nick Bate? He's White? He also raped his niece and had a mountain of CSAM. He's in for 40 years. Be legally a slave and make license plates for free, i don't fucking care.

Don't believe the "Joe did it to fuck over the democrats" fanfic bullshit. Pelosi is the de facto democratic party leader and her own state had a dramatic shift in numbers. She's worried that next time it won't be someone shitting on her driveway.

Kamala was everything, absolutely everything, that the democrats wanted in a candidate: female, not-whtie, already in a position of power, weird ass family, and already knows how to get down on both knees to the real string pullers (Pelosi, Schumer).

Falling for this level of bullshit gives the dems an official way out for explaining away why they got bent over this election by the american people who were tired of: Parents convincing their children that they were trannies for internet hugs, faggot everything, and 'moden audience' bullshit.
I don’t understand how Joe fucking them over stops the country from hating identity politics. Kamala was the worst candidate imaginable and in a fair world where the media isn’t spouting propaganda, there’s no cheating, and Trump isn’t being persecuted, she would’ve won California only.

I bet you that half of the people who voted blue don’t care about identity politics, they just didn’t want the scary Orange Man to win again.

Bullet button has been banned for many years now. Last I checked you had to go featureless or have a thing that popped open your receiver to release the mag.
Hahahahaha imagine living in a shit hole that finds the bullet button to dangerous. I don't keep up on California but I thought that was peak retardation, I didn't know they double downed

justice is blind. you should be put into prison when you commit a crime whether you’re poor or normal

I'd like to go to the inauguration but the toddler electorate is likely going to commit acts of violence and vandalism.
Do it. I went to his first one and it was pretty great and memorable. For anyone who's planning on going, here's some tips on what to do based on my experience last time:

-If you're willing to bite the bullet and pay price gougers, rent an airbnb in the DC area; this includes the district itself, Arlington, Bethesda, Alexandria, you get the idea

-If you're not willing to pay price gougers (understandable, obviously) then you should get a hotel near one of the main rail/metro lines that lead into DC.

-If you're travelling from the midwest, west, or somewhere else that 100% requires a flight then your best bet is to either get a hotel room near Dulles, or fly to another airport (JFK, BWI, LaGuardia, Philly Intl') 2-3 days before the ceremony, then do my previous suggestion

-It's going to be a long day. A very long day. You're going to have to get up early. Like, really really early
oh boy.gif

I can almost guarantee that if you aren't out the door and on your way to the National Mall by 2-3 AM then you aren't getting a spot anywhere near the Capitol; you'll be back by the Washington Monument. Trump was popular last time and the crowds/lines to get in were big, but this time? Yeah, its going to be a madhouse. Traffic and congestion up the ass.

-Eat a full breakfast and make sure you go to the bathroom before you leave, because you're not going to get a chance to use a toilet until you get to either the Mall's perimeter or the restroom right next to the Washington Monument; all the buildings surrounding the Mall will be closed so you won't be able to go in and use their restrooms. So stay hydrated, but not so hydrated you need to take a piss.

-You'll have to take some initiative in moving forward through the crowds. When I went last time I'd look down the street for gaps and if I didn't see any obvious roadblock or feds/soldiers blocking the way, I went for it. It's probably the only reason I managed to not be stuck out in the perimeter with thousands of others. Don't believe those old "haha look how empty his ceremony was" bullshit images that faggot lefties were coping with, the streets around the mall were wall to wall packed with people waiting to get in; don't be one of them.

-You're going to be doing a lot of walking and a lot of standing around. If you're not in shape or your cardio isn't so good, you need to be getting on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes every day for the next 2 and a half months. I'm quite serious.

-Dress appropriately for the weather. D.C. in January can be fucking cold. Last time it was actually pretty mild despite the light rain that fell, but don't bank on warm weather. Last time I wore a big heavy coat that kept me warm, but it was just heavy enough that by the time I got to the mall my shoulders were starting to bother me; I had to sit down for a while even when Donald was giving his speech. So assuming it'll be cold, dress warm, but dress light if that makes any sense.

-If you're one of the people who contacted your congressman/senator and actually got a ticket to the very front row then congratulations you lucky son of a bitch, you'll be able to just walk in and sit down.

All of that comes from my experience last time, so story time for how it went:
Last time I went I got into DC around 6 AM after taking one of the metro lines into the city. I actually got off at the metro station that's right next to the Capitol. Like literally, walk up out of the metro, look right, and there's the Capitol building right there down the block. But since I didn't have tickets or anything, I had to walk 3 miles through the streets to get to the mall; 3 miles to get to my final spot which ended up being less than one mile from where I started. I didn't stay for Donald's walk down the avenue to the White House but I wasn't planning to anyway. If you're planning on going from the main ceremony to him walking down the street, you'll have to haul ass there.
but the toddler electorate is likely going to commit acts of violence and vandalism.
One last funny anecdote to put your mind at ease: When I was leaving the mall to get back to the train station I passed some dumb faggot protestors with a sign chanting some dumb faggot slogans. So anyway I walk past them and turn the corner, and right there in front of me are like 7 fully decked out metro cops with a K-9 all side-eyeing the dumb faggot protestors. It's always nice when you walk past these protestor types and look at them because you realize "I could legitimately beat the shit out of all of them with one hand if they get uppity." Even my geriatric pa could've laid them out. There will be so many cops, soldiers, horseback cops, and plainclothes glowies watching for anyone to start shit, you can breathe just a bit easy. Yeah you should keep your head on a swivel and eyes front, but still.
