I've held a lot of jobs, but I don't think I've pulled as many pranks in a place as I did when I worked as Quality Assurance for FedEx. My favorite has to be when we got an exploded package of fish fertilizer, aka fish shit, we processed it and then we were left with a tub of shit. It gave off the the most putrid smell you could imagine. My manager told me to get rid of it, and that's what i did. I went ahead and started putting this tub in random places on the dock. Now keep in mind QA in FedEx have to have radios, just incase we are needed in certain areas. So I'm hearing managers on the radio talking about this awful smell thats all around their area. Before they could figure out where the smell was coming from, I moved it again, and a different manager would complain about the smell. I did this for 2 hours and i threw it out. I still have very fond memories of that.

So what is your favorite prank you've pulled Kiwis?

Calling my tranny co-worker "he" and then acting clueless.
It's a very risky prank that is mostly based on luck.

Piece of tape under someone's mouse laser is a classic.
This was a staple prank when I was an IT consultant with those of us working in the office and not on a client site. For those whose mice used a ball on the bottom to record movement, nearly all of us had at least one instance where a coworker removed the ball when we were away from our desk and proceeded to hide the ball in one of our drawers - driving us nuts to first figure out why the mouse wasn't working and then to locate the missing piece.

My favorite prank I pulled came from my first job as a high school student. One particular night when I had to work until the 9 PM closing, two of my peers decided we should take index cards, write something silly on them, and try to stick them on the backs of our adult coworkers working in the various departments. The others had mixed success, but I had success sticking something on the back of a heavyset co-worker's vest that read "Ask me about spare tires."

I think the only one that is not admissible in court is; I once flipped the line managers screen 90 degrees with a quick ctrl+alt+-> for two days she sat with the monitor propped on it's side, until IT got to her. 2 days later I hit her with a quick ctrl+alt+<- she went home for the rest of the day and called in sick the next day.

Years ago when I was working security at a junkyard, I dug up my old ipod, hooked it up to a little speaker, plugged it in the wall of the office and hid it pretty well, and just let it run 24/7. Except instead of playing music, it was just hours of silence followed by extremely short audio clips of either something really loud and frightening, or something just random or funny. It took almost two weeks of that office being constantly manned for someone to finally figure out what was going on.

I wrote a little program that would start on Windows startup and make a random beep sound using the motherboard's speaker - it would do it every 30-50 minutes and had a 5% chance every hour to make a few beeps in a sequence. It was my first C++ program.

I left it on my boss's computer and a few other workstations for my shitty IT support job, and he became so angry with it trying to figure out what was wrong that I got too scared to tell anyone so it was still beeping when I left the company a few months later.

I don't know if they ever fixed it because the function was removed in Windows XP 64 bit and Vista according to the MS docs, so my poor program might have continued beeping into the void for a long time.

One time I faked a phone call and pretended like it was the hospital calling and one of my employees had his wife die in a car accident...

ONLY SHE WASN'T ACTUALLY DEAD! I got him so good.

I don't really do pranks myself but when I was a lad I saw a boomer repeatedly walk over and switch the amperage on a younger guy's welder as high as it would go. It blew holes in the thin sheets he was working with and flung molten steel in every direction. The third or fourth time he did it the guy kicked his ass. It was a pretty good prank.

I'm lame. All I ever did was when I worked at a grocery store, I'd grafitti the bathrooms.

Public bathrooms I'd just draw kilroys, dirty rhymes and stuff like king kong jerking off giant dicks and shit. In the employee bathroom I'd do these intricate murals to fired co workers and shit that one of the managers would paint over every week.

They always assumed it was the kids that acted like hood rats. Never suspected it was me because I acted like a straight laced conservative white guy. Or at least they never said anything to me or confronted me about it.

One time I took a really fat shit in the workplace toilet, and I'm talking like I dropped five pounds after unleashing it. I'm talking like serious doodoo feces. I'm talking like that episode of south park with Randy Marsh breaking the world record. I'm talking like the entire place smelt like the cleanest street of New Delhi. I'm talking like I felt like I was calling your grandparents to give me the codes to google play gift cards. I'm talking like the toilet had a stroke flushing it down.

The prank was I was gonna blame the smell on my boss. It was perfectly planned out until I realized I worked from home and nobody lives with me.

I work in an industry where grown ass men will do surprisingly childish shit to each other.

A long time ago we had a local advertising circular that you could advertise in for free, then pay like a dollar to buy. Furniture, TVs, etc. There was a guy at work I didn't care much for, so I decided to put shit in there, say it was for free, then leave his cell number.

My favorite one was for free billy goats and nanny goats because he had probably two dozen calls over that one. People were getting mad at him because he didn't have the goats.

Not a prank I've ever done at the office but one time on April Fools Day I put ketchup packets neatly folded under the bits of the toilet seat that raise it up slightly so that the next person to sit on it got ketchup all over their legs. I'm lucky my dad never found out it was me.

it wasn't so much a "prank" but I'd superglue the fan switch in the can to be permanently on because the stank ass motherfuckers never left it going after blowing up the toilet

also one job I hid a shitload of tiny "fnord!" stickers all over the building in odd spots
