Achievement Hunters Club - Wasted 300 hours of my life just for a platinum gang

I barely ever really hunt for achievement completion any more but for this game I made the exception.

I'm almost done with XDefiant. Somehow, my weapon level drastically increased on its own which granted me the Weapon Master achievement. (Level a weapon up to 50.) All I need to do is to rank up to 50 and finish a match in a party. I despise achievements that require leveling up.

Gears of War: E-Day has been announced, which means there are supposedly more people playing Gears: UE. That means I could replay the Gears campaign (on Insane) again. Unlike the original Gears, I don't need to play as Dom for the co-op achievements, just play co-op. But, I want to double my progress for the Insane playthrough AND the co-op achievements.

I LOVE when you unlock multiple achievements at once.

Finished Gears: UE on Insane, which unlocked all the difficulty achievements all on co-op. All those notifications popping up in succession was bliss.

Got the South Park cheevies 3 weeks ago, it was pretty simple. I think the only hard part there was the ghost bird fight in Slave's asshole since I was somewhat reliant on status effects, but other than that it was relatively easy. You just had to make sure you didn't miss a single missable.

I also finished this bad boy a few days ago. If you guys haven't played Octopath II, I highly recommend doing so. It's a JRPG, so it's one of those games where if you want a challenge, you have to try to not overlevel your characters. Thing is though, there's so many content in the game that it's kinda hard to avoid that. For a majority of the boss, I was able to one shot all of them, and I was only 5 levels higher than what was recommended. The only boss I wasn't able to one shot was the final boss and the secret one (which is cheesable btw with the right strategy). Man, I can't wait for another sale and get the 1st one, it's one of those rare games that made me care about the story.

Congratulations! South Park: TSoT wasn't a HARD completion, just annoying with the missable collectibles.

My next new title is Rocket League: a soccer game where you use RC cars. I've unlocked many achievement on my first day. However, some of them require items, which are randomly unlocked through progression. Luckily, there isn't anything related to rank, but I will need to win online tournaments for 100%.

Appreciate it. Just checked the cheevies over there and yeah lots of 'em are somewhat specific and grindy (but that's to be expected lol). Good luck, hope you have a friend or two to carry you in there.

Some can be boosted. Use an exhibition match with easy AI or a second controller.

I'm finally done with this game, lol

The achievement "The Family You Choose" was a pain in the ass to get. It didn't unlock in a previous universe or with another character.
Reaching the level 100 was a chore. There's a universe that served no purpose, I couldn't replay the story, I could only go pick up the artifacts to jump to the next universe.

Why is it in Spanish?

I'll throw up some somewhat recent 100%'s

Into the Breach

A game from the developers of FTL, tile-based strategy game with a focus on unit positioning and using your units tools to manipulate it therein. Pretty fun imo, and it's definitely easier than FTL both in terms of the general gameplay and in achievement hunting. In terms of procedural generation it is a bit lacking in terms of variety compared to others in the roguelite genre albeit comparable to the previous entry FTL.

Chrono Ark
Recently officially released (V1.0, after being in early access since 2019 I believe) is Chrono Ark a member of the deckbuilder-roguelite subgenre. Taking after the progenitor of the subgenre, slay the spire, most of these games (sans Inscryption) are visually unappealing/unpolished; Fortunately, Chrono Ark doesn't suffer this problem with much effort placed in the art, music, and general presentation - typical of many korean developers who tend to produce art of good quality and with rather thorough attention to detail (although often lacking in originality). In terms of gameplay Chrono Ark is a mixture of darkest dungeon and slay the spire, alongside having VN elements in the general style and storytelling. I quite enjoyed the story, it kept me sufficiently intrigued throughout the runtime. The gameplay mechanics feel well utilized, and I find you feel in much greater control of your runs compared to games like Slay the Spire which is one of many things which has made Chrono Ark my favorite deckbuilder-roguelite and one of my favorite roguelites overall - even after 100% the achievements I still find myself returning for a new run. Regarding the achievements, as long as you're decent at this type of game it's not particularly difficult merely taking a fair amount of time.

Also, I was almost done with MH Rise but got a bit bored crown hunting, seeing the trailer for the upcoming MH game has got me itching to return and finish it up though.

Since we're doing a little show and tell...

Here's one for the Niohsisters. I also have the 100% on PS4 (plat is just the base game in that one so it's not as impressive as on PC) and unlike on the PS4 I was REALLY lucky with the three Japanese Imperial Regalia cheevo. The Yata Mirror only starts spawning on NG+++ and it can be a pain in the ass to get it because Nioh has random Diablo-style loot, but one of the enhanced enemies in the first mission dropped it.

I used to 100% collectathons for fun but lately Ive just found it so much easier to unlock achievements. Like I've played through this game 4 times and miss one achievement which isn't hard and it's the last one I need. Unlock it, move on with my life. It kinda ruins the completionist feeling but that shit has been locked away on consoles where cheating is difficult for ages.

I'm the same way. I cannot commit to 100%'ing titles because of lack of time. I end up giving myself a full time job. It's easier to do an daily achievement streak over committing to one game.

That said, I'm now boosting for Call of Duty 3's multiplayer achievements. Another one of those grindy achievements that requires nonstop commitment and farming to reach an arbitrary number on a dead game.

COD-MW-REMAKE.png \
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (2017)

I'll add one I just finished recently COD MW Remastered, besides the occasional crashes it's a pretty good remake. I suppose it's a mixture of being an adult now and being able to use m+kb but beating everything on veteran was much easier than I remembered. Even the infamous Mile High Club only took me a couple hours to do. I know these games were lowest common denominator console-kiddie fps's but I still love the old COD campaigns (sidenote: MW3 was the last good sp campaign, it's surprising how bad BO2's was after BO's series high). It's a shame the corridor shooter fps market is so surprisingly threadbare these days - surely I'm not the only one who wants another one. Also regarding Call of Duty, wtf have they been doing recently with the naming!?! I stopped paying attention when it turned into ADHD zoom-zoom cancer and looking now I can't tell WTF the newest title even is, why did they reuse the modern warfare naming?

My proudest rare achievement unlocked today.
