So why is it that libtards are saying that Trump being president will affect the whole world? What, is he gonna go to every country out there to round up muslims or something (Germany will be grateful for that I suppose).
Trump has promised to block planned free trade agreements and dismantle existing ones. Effectively it means that food and raw materials from overseas will stop. In theory it means that the severely economically depressed areas that backed Trump after having to listen to years of screaming that they deserved poverty because whitey has karma coming, will suddenly have money coming into the rural and mining sector because without cheap overseas produce coming in, there will be no choice but for consumers to start buying local again. In theory.
If this works the way Trump promises, it means that the countries providing these cheaper foods and materials will no longer have anyone they can sell it too. And while the USA's political star began to slowly dim twenty years ago, it's still a fuck huge country with a fuck huge appetite. And not only the exports market will crash, it'll also crash the internal markets. A huge glut of the excess product that America decided they didn't want after all will swish backwards and severely devalue both the local market for that product, but also peripheral products that rely on the export or manufacture of the major one. Employment will crash, many businesses will be unviable, recession will raise its ugly head once more, and we're all fucked.
As an added bonus, Australia is placed in a very awkward position as the US moves further into hostilities with Islam. America is our biggest trading partner and the one most likely to come and help us if we get picked on by a bully, but our closest neighbour is Indonesia, which looks small on the map but has a massive population, the vast majority of which are Muslim. We're also trading a fair amount with them as well; so if Trump does indeed scrap the trade agreements, we're going to be in serious financial trouble and relations with Indonesia will get weirder than ever.
With all this in mind, I really shouldn't be laughing at the US and the rest of the world flipping their shit because life will become rather difficult for quite a number of other countries under Trump. On the other hand, it's another one of those watershed moments that Australian politicians have been desperately pretending hasn't happened. The free trade market brings in money and jobs, but it comes at the cost of highly marginal primary food production as the international market is never, ever stable, and it's inevitable that someone always loses out. The fact is, however, Australian politicians are hell bent on business as usual, when the business they're conducting is becoming rapidly unviable. Financial strife is ahead and a fuckload of people are going to be in trouble, but at this stage it might be the thing that finally forces the changes in government focus and method that the electorate has been screaming for since before King Johnny started throwing children overboard.
At this stage, if nothing else there's going to be some serious economic damage to a number of different countries. And on top of that will come global repercussions as countries whose financial markets have been fucked over tell the US and its allies to go fuck themselves, and with Russia and China squirming about the repercussions could be downright catastrophic. The brutal fact, however, is that a politically chaotic country cannot maintain its global standing. Even if the promises to end free trade are broken, the US is still paralysed by some fucked up internal politics and it's made a lot of enemies over the years.

The problem that keeps going around and around, however, is that the nature of politics has changed, and globalisation doesn't just mean the trade routes, it means that even the bloody air is scrutinised, tracked, utilised and monetised. Pretty much no western country invests in itself anymore; it's always cheaper to buy it from someone else. This why countries like India should be watched very carefully. It's still a country full of psychopaths effectively exterminating themselves by destroying their own breeding females, but some of them are catching on and there's likely more innovation going on in any one Indian call centre than there is in an entire country like, say, Australia.
So yeah. A lot of people are fucked. But they were fucked to begin with. Trump's just speeding up something that's already been in motion for a long time. And in the long term there's a pretty decent chance that it's going to be a good thing because it'll force action on things that desperately need action but no one wants to do something about because it's too hard./.
