I wouldn't count them as stand-up, on account of them actually humoring me - so what was it? well it was PERFORMANCE ART

stand-up, in contrast, is gay by definition, it's going on a stage and being really gay and not funny
it's the gayest act one can engage in right after gay sex, though one might argue it comes before it
so when I'm saying he's getting better at stand-up, I'm saying he's getting really good at being a not funny gay guy

Yes Sam's "stand up" routines have always been for shock value and performance art, which is what makes them funny. I don't think he even enjoys stand up comedy and is doing this tour for other reasons. The stand up is just an excuse to bring the MDE gang back together, get them on the road making money and connecting with their fanbse for the first time ever. It's also to build hype for WP2, which was a relatively expensive production that cost at least 2 mill iirc. The tour is very cheap and requires minimal effort so it's perfect for Sam and his crew.

That new clip about fat girls and negging wasn't funny and was even somewhat cringe but it really doesn't matter because the point is to be offensive and piss people off. Sam is pretty much the king of that these days and people think he's a genius for it. All he has to do is say controversial stuff and people will love it. His new fans don't even know his old material and think that his new stuff is groundbreaking and cutting edge. "He's saying things in real life that my friends and I joke about online."
 
Sam's just trying to get in good with LOS so he can rake in some of their shekels. That or he's really dumb and doesn't realize the only reason his old stand up was so funny is because every single person in the audience wanted to put a bullet in his head. Doesn't hit the same when the audience is try hard LOS fans that expect shit like that.

despite utilising internet for his own comedy, I think his inclination is to chase after what the "prestige" thing to be doing is in comedy, which is TV, stand-up, stand-ups doing TV, stand-ups on TV writing sketches, sketch writer on TV doing stand-up etc etc

his fans, the generations right after, aren't about that broadway SNL televitzer bullshit and are perfectly happy to consoom a live-stream, but doing live-streams makes Sam feel like one of those sort of people who would do livestreams, like some sort of puppet, like some sort of puppet Sammy

Puppet Sam really rubbed Puerto Rican Rattlesnake's fluffer Sam wrong in a way I've never seent him being rubbed wrong.

I think now that Sam has paypigs that will throw money at him no matter what he feels like he doesn't need to try. He's just been phoning it in for the past few years with occasional funny moments like the Candy man. Jet being in this doesn't help either he's just not funny.

Maybe I'm getting too old but I do not understand the point of this video, or the Funko Pop one before it. I mean, ok he's talking shit about Jewish people which is based but not particularly funny and he's throwing a bunch of food in the sand and lighting it on fire with a broken flamethrower while comparing it to various war crimes committed by our greatest ally in the Middle East.

I know that the concept was "I just got a flamethrower, let's riff and have some fun while recording" but still. Is it a parody of some current trend because Epic Meal Time was popular over a decade ago??

I agree with everything you said but i think the Funk one is more about just being goofy and making fun of those ~le epic youtubers ! :D
I really like their stuff, and i want to see more of those "medium level" effort videos, even tho i think this flamethrower one was not really funny and it's him just saying stuff about le jews (based tho) just because he needs something to shock.

The Funko Pop Fry Up was halfway decent, the wanton lack of safety around that deep fryer and smoke inhalation had a certain charm to it. The lol random Jew name dropping in this just doesn't do anything
