Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

Based on what? You literally have no reason to believe this. Your entire argument is farcical.

Judges don't rule based on how a person looks, dumbass, they rule based on the facts of the case. Competent ones, anyway. The incompetent ones, like Chupp, simply rule in whatever way gets the case off their docket the fastest.
Even if Chumpp was an idiot, he could have still been tard wrangled by the appellate courts if not for the fact Ty gave the appellate court every reason to kick Vic's lawsuit as well.

Oh you are one of those trust the system types. That will change with experience. He lost. Hard. By order of the judge. He is a creep on trail for creepy shit. I put two and two together. I think personal bias played a role. Judges can be like that. In my western European country rule of law and all we have an actual cliche describing that. D66 rechter. It's a political party that somehow got lots of their affiliates installed as judges and if you get one of those handling a case the outcome is predictable and usually reeks of ideology. Wake up.
powerlevel
I had to go to court for something very punishable where I was actually guilty af. Got one of those D66 judges. Got off free. This is to be expected from those judges. I very much broke the law and it was known. No special circumstances nothing.
A cliche becomes a cliche because it is true and happens again and again.
edit
Describing a judge as being incompetent does not differ from describing him as biased. Incompetence is just the forum opinion where we turned out wrong about he case and it's likely outcome. God we cheered nick and ty. I'm saying it's bias stemming from experience. Mine and his probably. That and the complete fuck up of the handlers but I'm saying there is more.

Also the money angle they were all showered in it.

Your angle is he is not a creep. Well he is. Nothing about this nice guy persona is real. He acts. I dgaf but it did not help him. It was easy to set him up for the fall. That's not on incompetence.

He lost because the Judge is lazy and his lawyer was a moron playing moronic games. None of those things had anything to do with Vic as a person. Vic never got to really deal with the judge directly, so the judge never had a chance to form a direct opinion of him. All the arguments in court were made by his lawyer and the opposing team's lawyers. Your trying to argue some bullshit explanation for why Vic lost, when the reason he lost is obvious just from reading the available court documents and direct appraisals of the case from people who were there.

Your angle is he is not a creep. Well he is. Nothing about this nice guy persona is real.
Once again, you have no reason to think this. You've simply decided to form a shitty opinion on a man you've never met and don't even know. Therefore, everyone else is free to discard your opinion for the full on bullshit that it is.

mostly this thread should been locked payments were made but, the only optics that happened to stay open was last week which was.

While I think Vic acquitted himself admirably and I had a better opinion of him after the deposition, it was still six figures blown on something maybe a few dozen Internet nerds actually read, or watched on Nick's stream
I think you're underselling the impact of the depositions on public opinion. There are over 20 videos with over 100k views on the depositions. It put faces and attitudes towards Vic's accusers and really endeared Vic to the public. It was a massive cudgel to wield against Monica and Ron, with comparatively little non-financial damage to Vic. I can see why Ty let it happen.

That isn't to say I think it was the best move, but when you consider what the 2019-2020 period was like PR wise for Vic, the depositions could be considered reasonable from that point of view alone, not to mention their status as eternal records of how slimy Monica and Ron are. They were really powerful weapons.

Vic still shouldn't have had to pay for attorney fees for a series of depositions that were completely irrelevant to a TCPA motion. I guess it is what it is, though. In retrospect, it seems like the over a million dollars spent on this bullshit was just scummy lawyers milking it for every dollar they could get, including Ty.

That'd be nice if it literally meant anything. Yeah, like a lot more people hate Monica now, but she's still getting a steady stream of work anyway, and that probably won't change in the near future. Revealing people as being pieces of shit is entirely pointless these days because it's very rare they face any punishment more than a slap on the wrist or some fanhate.

I see Ty as misguided, out of his depth and reckless. I don't think he intentionally ran the numbers up. You're right though, Vic shouldn't have to pay as they were irrelevant to TCPA.

It does matter. No matter how "good" things are now, when someone wants to stick a knife in her back or get her "canceled" there is one more weapon out there. The truth itself is a worthwhile pursuit if only to rebel against this world of lies. There are more reasonable people who saw this for what it was than you think. Don't look at what she's getting, but what she could have gotten if not for her being exposed for what she is.

Yes this sadly. Even if his accusers were shown to be horrible people and a spotlight shone on their awful behaviour. They'll just claim its all lies, spread by misogynists/incels/nazis etc. because of current times. Vic's detractors will point to the fact he lost the case and paid damages to his accusers. The details will be irrelevant.

The hope was that Vic would have gotten a result like Depp did, but alas everything went wrong and here we are.

I honestly don't buy that losing on appeals had anything to do with Ty. The notary issue gave them an easy out to get rid of the case, but the fact was: The appeals court was looking for an out to toss the case. If it wasn't the notary, it would've been something else. You know why?

COVID. That fucked Vic's chance of a successful appeal harder than anything else. When these guys returned from COVID lockdowns they looked at that massive pile of paper and said "Fuck no". They procrastinated this case for a long time and when everyone started to ask for the appeals court to give a ruling, COVID hit. By the time the appeals court got to this, almost two and a half to 3 years have gone by since the ruling. Vic was never getting a fair review by that point. This was the very last pre-covid case they handled and they still procrastinated, and did current cases before they finally wanted these papers off their docket. Lemoyne shit-flingings strategy did work but I doubt even he realized it would work as well as it did. Vic was never going to have Justice and it's all the fault of the staff at Tarrant county court. And that's from the appeals board, to Judge Chupp, and everyone else involved.

So what? Prisoners get room and board and food for free. What's the difference between these people's lives and a prisoner's? Prestige. Take away their prestige and they're basically just living in a nice part of Hell
