Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

Going through the replies/quotes and seeing universal cheering is depressing. I was hoping enough people turned on her recently that she'd get a ton of hate, but apparently I'm too optimistic. How does this unlikable cunt still have so many fans?
Marchi has a massive block list of people that call her out and hate her from Weeb Wars. You are looking at her hug box of orbiters that are still allowed to post on her Twitter. Hope she drowns in that champagne.

She will have a heart attack from all of that fat.

As in-line as it is for her type to go on a blocking spree, I saw her repeatedly go on long debates with people that clearly hate her, so I assumed she wasn't quite as block-happy.

She is more block happy than Movie Bob. Just recently she went on a block spree of anybody who followed Asmongold as Zach buck broke her fat ass and handed her the biggest L of her pathetic career. Her ego has been wounded since. As such she only wants her worshipers to post on her Twitter. This woman is in her 40's by the way but acts like a high school queen bee.

Hopefully Ty is only just a retard and not a pussy. If he pays out Vic's judgment, at least gay pants man is no worse off economically, and only slightly worse off socially.
We don't know how much he actually billed. Could be he took the whole iolta, could be there was still most of it left, but we don't know and he didn't give us any clue. I suspect a significant amount of the money was still left, so Vic would be personally on the hook for a lot less than the final judgment. Beard, if he has any sense of honour, should definitely make up the difference.

Almost hate to admit it, but she's got a point with that last sentence.

Johnson straight up out-lawyered Ty. I think we all know it. Fair is fair.

Ty, and therefore Vic, was destroyed by a strip mall lawyer who noticed the notary shenanigans. Good job, you fat incompetent dumbass.

Congratulations to the most insufferable defendant in the Vic case getting the best lawyer. If I were going into a death penalty case where I was the one looking at the death penalty, I would pick this fucking guy over any other lawyer in the Vic case.

Every other lawyer in the case was a fucking idiot.

This is inspiring me to fedpost with extreme contempt. How is this justice? They lied about him, he proved it, and now he owes them MORE because actual armchair lawyers screwing Vic over in actual courtrooms.
I am curious how much, if any, Ty is actually putting into this. It's possible he is helping with the payments. The only way this would be redeemable in my eyes is if Ty just paid the fees for Vic, but if I was Vic and was left footing almost a million dollars for someone else's fuck-up, I would straight-up fucking murder Ty and Nick.
He's too much a bleeding heart christian to snap and go postal. All the other charity and good Samaritan crap he's done is evidence of, if nothing else, his naivety to human corruption and how little his efforts have actually gone in making the world a better place. "Here is a good person, watch as we destroy him."
I still firmly believe he's too proud to tell people he's gay.
Honestly, if that was his defense, it might have actually worked. Especially with more and more laws nullifying the consequences of DIE types regularly committing the most heinous and deplorable acts this godless rock has seen. If he said he was a closeted homosexual, they'd flounder with the bad PR. Bubba a few months back was abhorred online just for being a white male preacher before he trooned out and speedran the 41% category. Suddenly, this bigoted white christian male they never knew anything more about or cared for was "one of us." Tiara, the axe wound that twerked on stage in Colorado this week, it has it's own law in the works called Tiara's law that separates your name and criminal record, making the general public and relaxed employers much less likely to find your criminal record without your "deadname" or "social security number."
Seems plausible, it seems very likely to me that he molested all those poor women as some kind of cope to convince himself he's not queer, but because he didn't have the suave, pussy-moistening rizz of a redblooded heterosexual they all got creeped out by his homoerotic undertones and complained.
She's not going to fuck you bro. If anything, you'd get a similar lawsuit.

I hope the likes of Monica,Ron and all those who slighted an innocent person die in justifying horrific ways to show that the parable of Job still applies and evil people will always need to watch their back.

Even Jesus told his followers to grab a sword even if they have to sell their coats to do so.

The only thing I'll agree with is Johnson was pretty badass.

It was Ty's case to lose, but it was Sam who saw the notary fuckery and brought it to the court's attention.

If he hadn't it's quite possible it would have skated by and eventually found to be moot in the future.

Wasn't it even better than that in that he noticed the fuck up, then instead brought it to Lemwaah's attention and let him do the motion, increasing MoRon's billable instead of Jamie's?

If nothing, at least Ty got enough to buy himself a luxury cruiser and name it the SS Broly.
If anything, I’m getting a lot of mileage out of music.

He should never have agreed to that deposition. It was unnecessary and arguably against the provisions of the TCPA to begin with. In retrospect, it doomed the entire case.
It's naive to act like he could have just not agreed to the deposition. He was the plaintiff. He didn't have the privilege of just not agreeing to let himself be deposed. He had no way to stay discovery or block a deposition; he could try to delay it maybe, but if the defendants were set on getting him deposed, he had no way to force them to file their TCPA motion before that occurred.

It was improper to even engage in discovery before a dispositive motion that would have eliminated any need for it. It should never have been agreed to and should have been quashed if one side tried to get it over the other. All it did was pad the billables for all parties (and provide some expensive entertainment for the Internet.

The whole POINT of the TCPA is to bypass a lengthy litigation process and dispose of the case quickly, at least on places other than Planet Chupp.

And actually yes, if you blow off filing a TCPA you can very well snooze and lose because dicking around with dilatory bullshit instead of just filing it is the opposite of the whole intention of the law. So if you sit on a TCPA and only file it after you get some decision you don't like you can quite easily be told to fuck off with that nonsense.

All of this is assuming that Chupp isn't Chupp.

As with many lolsuits, retardation abounded in this case. The judge is an insufferable, stupid nitwit. Ty was cocky, either about his own abilities or those of his team's. (Note, his firm shrank a lot during the case and COVID.)

Parties agreed to stupid shit like depos before a tcpa motion, agreed to allow the depos to be videod and then published, didn't fill their paperwork out correctly, the ty-lephone notary, filed shit at the last second (or past the last second)... We could go on.

As mentioned before, Sam Johnson was the rock star, and maybe the only non-lolcow outside of Martinez, who came on way too late to course-correct for Vic.

The only vindication Ty has, in my eyes, is that Vic hasn't pursued any action against him. I know Vic is a goodie two-shoes, but to me, facing down combined payments north of half a million to the various accused parties, plus his own fees for Ty... that says to me that Ty quietly reached an arrangement with Vic, one we'll never hear about unless Vic opts to share it.

I don't believe they had any choice in these. Chupp wasn't going to tell the defendants that they'd forfeit their right to file a TCPA motion if they engaged in discovery first. And once you take a deposition you have the full right to leak any or all of it, if you want.

You could, I guess, try to delay the depositions, and get them all pushed beyond the defendants' 60 day deadline to file their TCPA motions. You'd even have a pretty decent argument: the TCPA is intended to avoid costly discovery; allowing discovery before the TCPA motion deadline goes against the spirit of the law. But it's not in the letter of the law, and it all relies on Chupp not being Chupp.

IANAL and it's easy to Monday morning armchair quarterback, but this is 100% what I'd try to do. Call their bluff, have a busy calendar, keep things to paperwork and motions until you're past the TCPA window. Because both sides thought the depos would make the other side look bad. However, because it was a lolsuit, Ty had to promise to Vic's mom that "he would save Vic's reputation". And he claims to have done so. That was the cope after Chupp threw the case out.

I guess you can argue that wouldn't have happened without the depositions, and releasing them as they did.

I don't remember how much of the itemization went to the depositions (and don't care to look now, it's academic), but I'd guess it substantial, especially in Lemon-man's case. Was the depositions gamble worth probably north of $700k, to save Vic's career? Of signings at comic book shops and TurtlesCon?
