Pretty much. DSP is also a perfect example of a pseudo-intellectual. I don’t think he’s autistic. He’s just a loser with an inflated ego and no friends to keep him in check.
Also, we are talking about someone who, in the past, when confronted, would cry about how he’s an alcoholic and he doesn’t mean what he says. There is actual audio evidence of people calling him out for doing this. He’s not autistic he’s just an incredible faggot.
I'd agree. I don't think Phil is autistic even though he has a lot of the symptoms. When you encounter someone autistic you can usually tell pretty quick. Chris Chan, King Cobra, Cyraxx, you can just always tell from the manner of speaking. Phil had friends and a social community in the FGC for a short while, even if it hated him generally. Based on seeing him with John Rambo and Howard in a lot of old videos, I just don't think he's missing the social skills necessarily. I think he was probably a lonely kid throughout school and high school then came out of his shell in the FGC, so he was unpracticed socially, but not socially retarded.
I lean more towards NPD and some severe emotional issues. John talked about it, and Phil admitted that he was insecure to Rambo, since Rambo was funnier and more popular. He would drunk text his friends late night emotional screeds. I think his narcissism rules his life, but he's prone to occasional moments of clarity when drunk and his narcissistic defenses are down.
As a slight power level, I've interacted with many people with personality disorders for my work, and I really don't buy the autism or avoidant personality disorder theories. Avoidant people are generally very nice and don't have a bad word to say about anyone, even when they should. The autism idea is more compelling, but I think almost all of the traits of Phil's possible autism manifested as an effect of his total isolation from people, rather than being the cause.
Everyone on the internet now calls most people they don't like narcissists, i.e. the whole reddit obsession with being "raised by narcissists" and so on. It's become a bit uncool to chalk something up to someone just being narcissistic, but Phil is just the poster child for the actual personality disorder. I was going to post examples of how, but honestly just go read the "Signs and Symptoms" section for the Wikipedia page on NPD. There isn't one word in there that isn't Phil, besides maybe getting plastic surgery.
