I finally got around to watching season 3 of Ted Lasso - really bad. Modern writers seem completely incapable of making any plot element pay off or feel like it had a point.

A fun comedy is "Short Time" (1990). The film tells the story of an overly cautious cop who finds out he has a terminal illness (I know a bummer way to start a comedy). The cop soon finds out his family isn't eligible for his life insurance payout. However if he is killed in the line of duty the city will pay out big on death benefits. As such he forgoes his usually cautious ways and becomes an extremely reckless cop trying to get killed in the line of duty by any means necessary. It is also memorable for this scene.

Blast From the Past.

Kid who was born in raised in a fallout shelter after his parents thought the bombs dropped in 162 when a plane crashed on the home while in the shelter comes out in the 90’s to resupply and find a non-mutant girl to marry. Starting Brendan Fraiser back before Hollywood sent him through the wringer.

It’s a romantic comedy but is also just pretty enjoyable and funny to watch. Also actually kinda wholesome rather than going for a “raunchy parody” sort of thing.

It’s actually currently free on YouTube right now too.

I am watching Luther because I watched Kill List again recently and I wanted to see more Michael Smiley. The first two seasons are good, but it goes swiftly downhill from there. I'm not sure I want to bother watching the movie, since the trend implies it will be the worst yet.

Luthor started really really good, but after the Detective finds out he really is the devil the show becomes a Netflix one and the writing is horrible. I should delete the last season from my server

Murdoch Mysteries sounds like it's going to be interesting. It's set in the late 1800's/early 1900's and follows a detective that uses steampunk versions of modern investigation technologies to solve crimes and mysteries.

And Agatha Christie's Marple should be a classic

I really liked the first season of Ted Lasso, but then season two felt like it was a noticeable step down, so I didn't bother with anything after that. Seems like I made the right decision.

I watched The Crow 2 and 3 and the less said about these utter shitfests the better. Truly terrible.

The Crow 2 should’ve had a proper director’s cut. It had most of the creative team from The Crow & had a good director. Then that turd Harvey Weinstein started interfering with the production & did to it what he tried to do to the actress in it, Mia Kirshner. He ordered reshoots & edits that turned it into a nonsensical retread of the Brandon Lee movie. If the Weinsteins hadn’t meddled so much it would’ve been better.

Did you confuse Luther with Idris Elba with Lucifer with Tom Ellis?
One is about an obsessive detective and the other is about the Devil helping with solving crimes.
