Susie Green & Mermaids UK - "Trans Kid Support Charity", Susie had her underage kid get GRS

This was discussed in parliament yesterday (and a media appearance). The whole debate was interesting, especially her tearing into Wes Streeting but notably they are going to keep an eye on online private practices. Seems pretty directed at GenderGP to me. Also some MPs went in on Mermaids and stonewall.

The NHS's decision and the CQC's jurisdiction only extends over England and Wales. I think GenderGP relies on prescribing doctors not being based in the UK, but in the EU; chemists honour prescriptions from EEA doctors (and certainly GenderGP is was sold to a Singapore based compane and Helen Webberly just acts as a consultant, although we know that's a legal fiction).
I don't think cross-border prescriptions have to specify what the prescription is for, just that it's a prescription. So as long as it's legal for a chemist to sell that medication in the UK (which it would be, as Lupron is a chemotherapy drug and there's other valid reasons why HRT may be prescribed) I don't know that they can effectively close that loophole.

Given the direction multiple EU countries are moving on this, I don't think the loophole will be open for particularly long. I'm not certain of how prescriptions from outside the EEA are treated here, but I suspect there are a number of hoops to jump through before they can be filled.

GenderGP are now trying to recruit Swedish doctors to prescribe for them and they would get extra pay for a GD diagnosis.
I'm not sure how that would be ethical for a Swedish practitioner as we've halted the use of pb's unless in a clinical study and have backtracked a lot on the affirmation model.

Btw, the government is voting on the trans law tomorrow here in Sweden so please have us in your thoughts and hope for it to not go through.

Particularly pathetic is Gender GP capitalising the i in international experts. They are desperate to try to give their personal experts some additional weight despite that fact that internationally many of the experts are getting harsher than the UK ones. What they in fact mean is to listen to the accepted doctrine from the US as an increasingly panicky medical complex screams "there's more money still to be made!"
This is how the trans lobby have fucked themselves. The way the NHS is set up the financial benefit simply isn't there for Doctors, like it is in the US.

This report is in direct response to the calls for legislation that would make providing 'conversion therapy' a criminal offense for Doctors. So for example some doddering old GP says the wrong thing to a moody teenager, well he's facing not civil but criminal legal repercussions.

The British medical profession didn't openly oppose the legislation, but it's not an accident that first the Tavistock clinic got shut down, then mermaids got a PR hammering, now the Cass report will make sure that the issue is dead.

For the last few year tranny activist groups have enjoyed giving the British Medical profession 'guidance'. A group of people that are not used to taking suggestions from any outside group, that doesn't come in an appropriately grovelling manner with plenty of cash to grease the wheels.

Did anyone notice how certain elements of the media seemed to enjoy reporting on the fact that Susie Green was personally referring children to GIDS. The referral system is a fucking scam but one that Doctors and Consultants have a deep attachment to.

Anyway normal service has resumed, Doctors are selfless heroes and shouldn't have outside groups arguing with them.

Also don't think this is going to make any significant difference to wider trans issues in the UK. Schools particularly the shittier ones used to getting hammered by OFSTED will continue to embrace trans issues because it's easier than teaching. Even the NHS will keep going because if some violent troon is put on a womens ward, who does that inconvenience.

I'm not sure how that would be ethical for a Swedish practitioner
How ethical is pay per diagnosis? They’re literally saying they’ll for each diagnosis that drives business to their clinic. That can’t be allowed surely?
What’s in the Sweden trans law? I’m afraid I don’t hold out much hope for sanity

Sweden's been backpedalling a lot recently. They've banned mastectomies for teenage girls outside of clinical research and recommended limiting HRT and puberty blockers in minors to only highly exceptional circumstances - those recommendations weren't law, but some hospitals in Sweden completely discontinued the so-called "Dutch protocol". The Swedish National Board of Healthcare then went one further and basically said there's not really any good quality evidence for giving children HRT and puberty blockers, and cracked down even further.

It's one of the things that had trans people worrying for a while, because Sweden used to be seen as a highly affirming transgender utopia that made it super easy for kids to transition, and Sweden's sudden about turn on this precipitated the Cass Report (because if SWEDEN of all places is reversing course on transgender kids, that really stands out).

It transpires the urge to get Swedish doctors may actually be about Swedish patients (GenderGP is EEA-wide now) suddenly encountering issues trying to use GenderGP prescriptions in Swedish chemists.
dispensing-sweden-update.jpeg

Gender GP has learned of recent issues experienced by members seeking to obtain their medication from pharmacies in Sweden. We are very sorry for any disruption you are facing and are looking into this as a matter of utmost importance. We have acted swiftly to make contact with the Swedish Medicine Agency Läkemedelsverket.se and are aware they have received questions from pharmacies about fulfilling GenderGP prescriptions. We have directly offered the Swedish Medicine Agency the opportunity to validate our processes and prescribers.

GenderGP Prescriptions

All our prescribers can legally prescribe, and your prescriptions should be dispensed to you. There is no specific form or format for a prescription used in another EU country. The prescription you have received already contains the required information for your dispensing.
“The basis for an EU prescription
  • Patient details: surname and first name (both written in full), and date of birth
  • Date of issue of the prescription
  • Details of the prescribing doctor: surname and first name (written in full), professional qualification, direct contact details, work address (including the country), and signature (written or digital)
  • Details of the prescribed product: its common name (rather than the brand name, which may be different in another country), format (tablet, solution, etc.), quantity, strength and dosage.
More details can be found in Clause 53 of https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?qid=1431961837669&uri=CELEX:32011L0024”

If you are experiencing issues

  • You can learn more about our prescription verification process on our website, which you may refer your pharmacy to.
  • The Swedish Medicine Agency’s website includes directions to pharmacies regarding EU prescriptions.
  • A letter for sharing with your pharmacy is available from our Knowledge Base.
  • If you are still having difficulty redeeming your prescription, please note that many of our members visit neighbouring countries to have their prescriptions filled.
  • Furthermore, patients on masculinising treatment may wish to consider switching to Sustanon or Nebido for collection and administration in a neighbouring country.

Our commitment

Please rest assured we are working on helping the pharmacies feel confident in dispensing to you. We understand this news may be unsettling, and the need for continuation of service. Here at GenderGP we look forward to having a complete solution and will continue to work with the Swedish Medicine Agency to achieve this.

Interesting. Sweden has pretty strict rules on what’s even sold OTC in pharmacies. There’s loads of stuff you can buy here in the uk that you can’t there. I hope they will vote against it. Do you know what’s in the law ? As in, is it self ID?

I do. The tranny movement sustained itself on the perception that it was both inevitable and unstoppable. Its institutional influence is built on the back of that, as it gave politicians, media, and power brokers something they thought they could passively ride to greater power of their own. With Cass and the end of tavistock, troonery's unstoppable image is no longer a certainty, which means that people are abandoning the ride. That in turn breaks down the idea of its inevitability, which has brought silent critics out into the open and has led to a rapid turn-around in allowable discourse, which is in turn is beginning to break away away a lot of people who were only attached to trans shit because it was fashionable. I think this year might actually be the point it all starts rolling back for a lot of the world. We'll no doubt see some rallying attempts at forcing the issue, but I think that will be drowned out by the rising tide of detransers seeking retribution.

No self ID. It's pretty similar to the UK with gender recognition panels for 18+ only, from my understanding. Rather controversially they used to require transgender people were sterilised before they'd be granted legal recognition (they were one of the first countries to let you legally change sex so a lot of old school stuff was on the books - they practiced compulsory sterilisations in the name of eugenics well into the 1970s, including on women who needed an abortion for medical reasons on the basis they were producing defective babies so needed to be removed from the gene pool), but they liberalised about 10 years ago.

Finland has self ID (for adults) but interestingly they've also cracked down on youth gender transition - they've abandoned WPATH and are following the Dutch Protocol, but the Dutch Protocol requires long standing pre-pubescent gender dysphoria and no other mental health conditions, which the majority of adolescent patients don't meet. They've also raised the idea that claiming kids need HRT or else they'll kill themselves is creating a nocebo effect where kids who otherwise would be fine basically become suicidal or self harming when they otherwise wouldn't have, and that this isn't an inherent trait in the non-gender-affirmed.

Denmark was the first country in Europe to introduce self ID (and a form of non binary gender recognition with X markers on passports, sort of) and their care model was based on prescribing hormones as early as 15 - but they've cracked down too; 66% of referrals of children to Danish gender clinics were given hormones in 2018 but as of last year that's now 6%.

In all of these cases this was prompted by the exponential explosion in referrals of children within the last 10-15 years. Their talking heads usually aren't translated into English and they get little international (American) attention, which is why none of these countries have earned themselves the moniker of "TERF Peninsula", unlike TERF Island.

Law about gender identity (in Swedish)
The translated article:
"The new bill wants to make it easier to change legal gender. The age limit must be lowered from 18 to 16 years, with the guardian's approval. Nor should a diagnosis of gender dysphoria be needed - that is, that the gender identity does not match the gender at birth and that this means suffering - but a care contact before that should be enough.

It is proposed that a person who has reached the age of 16 should have the gender that appears in the population register changed after a simplified examination, through a normally simpler medical examination, of the gender identity. An application for a child is made by the child's guardian with the child's written consent."

Regarding surgery:

"The proposal also contains a change that applies to gender reassignment through surgical procedures. Today, permission from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required to carry out such an intervention. It should not be needed in the future.

Interventions must, as today, be preceded by an investigation within the health care system and can be performed on people who have turned 18.

For the removal of the gonads, the age limit of 23 remains, unless there are special reasons."

The fact that the early adopters of this are abolishing it is an indicator this kind of pseudoscientific quackery has a limited shelf life. At some point, you ruin enough kids for life that people get sick of it. Unfortunately, those kids are still ruined for life thanks to these child grooming perverts trooning kids out for their own sick pleasure.

Is this the end of GenderGP in the UK? Someone is complaining that he has been Nigerian-Princed by them

I had my IGS session in October. OCTOBER.
I was told that I'd be approved for HRT and to await further instruction from the enrolment team. Fair enough, cool. Exciting times.
Weeks go by and...nothing.
Christmas rolls around and I figure a lot of people tend to take holidays so I give it a bit more leeway and patience because hey, the alternative is waiting 7+ years for an NHS appointment that will probably get cancelled half way down the line right?
March rolls around and I'm like ok this has been long enough, so I send a lil email like 'hey what's up how do I, y'know, get moving on this?' About a week later I get a cold response of 'hey yeah we've added your query to the new ticketing system thanks'. No option to reply to the email.
Well ok, at least someone will pick it up now and maybe it just got lost in the system, I hear they're going through an internal restructure, so lets give it a couple more weeks and see if anything happens. I spot a post on reddit saying hey if you're waiting for enrolment, fill out this form and I figure it wouldn't hurt to try so naturally I go through the form and pay all the fees listed: £195 set up fee, £9.99 prescription handling fee and the £30 subscription fee. Then I submit the form. There's no confirmation sent after filling out the form, but I have confirmation emails from all the payments so I cautiously assume it all went through.
I wait.
On Tuesday, my partner, who has been receiving HRT through GGP and so far not had any issues (probably part of the reason why I'd been so patient up to this point) tells me to check my emails as a mass email has just gone out that seems to apply to where I'm at..
I check my email...
Nothing.
I check my spam mail...
Nothing.
I read the email on her phone. "Any existing applications that have not been processed will no longer be actioned"
I'm sorry what?
So basically, I've paid £65 for a nice chat then £200+ for fuck all, to not be told I'm getting fuck all and to be left hanging for over 6 MONTHS.
I am beyond done. I've submitted a chargeback on everything and canceled the subscription through stripe but I'm just lost on what to even do next. I tried looking into T on DIY but I can't find anything other than people talking about how it's a restricted substance and you can't get it without a prescription. I'm not sure I can face going through another private service. Especially one that doesn't operate on informed consent, I don't want to keep having to justify over and over again why I need this. Why do my choices have to be vetted by some random stranger? I just feel so disheartened by everything.
I was so hopeful at the start of October that I'd be set on my way with T, grab a letter from GGP for top and be off on my merry way to Dr Ntanos, but even that's crumbled too as he's moving to Greece lol.
Everything is such a shitshow. I'm angry. I'm tired. I'm not even sure what this post is accomplishing, I just need to scream into the void I guess.

Here's the key phrase in an email they're sending out, "Any existing applications that have not been processed will no longer be actioned"

Reddit troons are panicking that the Guardian may be doing an investigation into DIY HRT. I can't think of a paper more likely to whitewash the subject (well maybe Pink News, but who reads that?), so dunno why they're afraid.

Reminder: it's extremely unlikely to be in your interests to speak to a journalist under these conditions! If any reach out to you, please pass them to established LGBT+ advocacy organisations instead. self.transgenderUK

Hey folks,

We've been reliably informed that journalists from a major newspaper have been reaching out to people in online trans support spaces specifically regarding self-medicating, with a particular focus on under-18s.

While /r/transgenderUK (along with every other trans-related subreddit on this website, to my knowledge) doesn't allow discussion of self-medication for under-18s, it's a fact that it does occur, and a number of people here may well be doing so. For harm reduction reasons, just in case anyone in that situation is contacted by anyone working for the media as a result of their interactions on this subreddit, we have to remind people - don't do it!

If you're approached, your first instinct should be to not respond. If that's unavoidable, then please read Trans Safety Network's Media Engagement Safety Guide before saying anything. It's extremely unlikely that any journalist working for a British newspaper will have your best interests at heart - given the editorial slants of every major newspaper in this country, you can rely upon the fact that they'll be reaching out to you with the intention of writing a hit piece against trans healthcare more generally. Engaging with them will be setting yourself up to get taken advantage of.

If you're contacted, please consider referring any enquiries to established trans community support and advocacy organisations with experience dealing with the media instead - they'll likely be far better placed to answer any questions than you are.

Some organisations you should consider referring any enquiries to are as follows:

Gendered Intelligence
Scottish Trans
TransgenderNI
Mermaids
Trans Safety Network

I can't emphasise enough how important it is to keep yourselves safe - please don't let yourself get put in a position where you'll be taken advantage of. These organisations exist to handle this sort of stuff on your behalf, and they can generally be relied upon to have your back - which is absolutely not the case for anyone working for the media under these circumstances.

NGL, I'd love it if Nigerian scammers decided to target troons who want their whore moans. That's got to be an untapped market for them, and it could be profitable without much effort

Was in a FB group years ago. One of the ladies had a surprise but very wanted pregnancy - she thought she couldn't have any more kids, and wanted her only daughter to have a younger sib.

Anyways, we set up a private online baby shower page for her, since she had given away her daughter's baby stuff two years before after years of trying. It was titled something like "Fundraising for our Baby Nigerian Prince" as a joke, with a public description implying it was one of those stupid 419 scams. We're a bunch of assholes, I admit it.

Kid was born, all was well, he's adorable.

A year later, all of a sudden we started getting requests from about ten different Africans hoping to join in the group. IDK how it got on their radar. We all had a good laugh looking at their profiles, with them all posing with expensive cars, making it rain dollars, and wearing lots of gold.
