Why doesn't every image on Kiwifarms use webp?

That is 150 megabytes less than the Orange Book standard for a CD-R, and we're at a point of time when even a 48x CD-ROM drive copies data slower than downloading it over a typical residential internet connection from another residential connection on the other side of the world.

Even those faggots that bang on about how GIF (which is pronounced like "gift") should be replaced with embedded, auto-looping MP4s have a point. JPGs and PNGs though, they're just fine. I am willing to sacrifice megabytes of space for compatibility.

Maybe WebP compatibility isn't the greatest, I can agree on that. But there's always the next generation of image compression formats! I for one look forwards to JPEG XL, which will be ever more efficient than WebP!

Looked it up, and yeah, I'm an avif supporter now. But it's too late to convert all of my images into avif. As I've already converted them into WebP and don't want more compression degradation.

WebP offers a lossless mode. Good for gooning to your zoophilia or whatever you furry fuzzbutts do in your endless amounts of NEET free time.
