Food you want to try

a Juicy Lucy
I've tried to make one a few times but the cheese always breaks loose from containment
Use less cheese and make sure it's kept in the center. I make something similar to those sometimes and I kinda crimp the edges of the patty. It can also be useful to pierce the patty through the middlet so, if the cheese does try to escape, it just vents onto the top of the patty instead of going into the pan/grill.

From small craft beer breweries
Grand Rapids, Michigan is known for their brewery’s if you ever go on a local brewery hunt.
The only juce Lucy I know of it the 70s “real greasy Ricky” band
My mom used to make lasagna all the time when I was a kid. It’s not too hard to make with store bought items, but the real shit! You have to try it with legit noodles and sauce. I home make thoes things (all ingredients) because you can control how much you put in and I LOAD it with cheese

Kimchi. I just don't want to buy a whole jar in case I don't like it, there's no Korean restaurants around me, and none of my friends or family would want to eat it either.
Failing being able to find it locally alot of asian grocery stores sell large packages of the spice powder they use in making it, lots of brands have instructions for how to make it on the package. That way all you'd need is a pack of the spice and a head of cabbage

Theres also lots of different instant soups that are kimchi flavored in asian sections of grocery stores. I've tried a few of them and holy shit are some of them ever spicy as hell

I've had it a couple times visiting family in the US. Can't say you're missing much. Its got a really odd dry even when its canned texture and is bony as hell. If you're one of those people who can't stand bones in your fish you'll hate snake. Alligator was marginally better and at least didn't have all those bones. Tasted like a weird dry fishy chicken with a texture you can't really explain

i'd like to try authentic salo and whale blubber. Just to say I did. Tried wagyu beef several times, its still one of the worst, most disgusting things i've ever put in my mouth. Tastes like slimy beef someone soaked overnight in melted tallow until it seeps out when you chew it. Frankly I wouldn't feed it to my dog

A good friend of mine and I often went fishing and hunting at his father's cabin in northern Ontario. Right next to it was a small lake (which was completely surrounded by land his father owned). Cloudberries in a patch by the lakeshore.
The unripe berries are very sour, but the ripened one are nice and sweet. They make a good jam/sauce and pair well with fresh caught pan-fried walleye and fresh potato wedges.
Think sauerkraut or any other kind of pickled cabbage, but with a slight spicy kick and a bit more salty than sour.
The kimchi radish is also nice.
Pickled meat is fucking disgusted.
Pickled fish is actually pretty good. I have had pickled herring in Germany and they were decent. It is also the only way to eat something bony like chain pickerel because the pickling process dissolves most of the small bones.
My maternal grandfather drank snake wine sometimes. I wanted some but he told me I was too young (I was) and that was that.
I'd kill for more maple flavored things. They're so good but in my country the closest thing to the things I've tasted to when I was j the USA are maple frosted donuts from Dunkin' and any time I go to a place where they have a Dunkin's, they're either just rotated out or just about to rotate into the seasonal thing.
Is maple syrup not available for purchase where you live? I apologize in advance, as I am Canadian and pretty much surrounded by maple flavored things like maple bacon.
Also any type of odd or unusual berries, used to housesit for someone who had a hobby-farm with a giant kitchen garden full of different berry bushes, including some nicher types of currants and I was eating good any time I housesat for them.
I grew a goldenberry bush during my high school days. You can do so yourself with a handful of goldenberry seeds and a dream. Be ready to fight off rabbits. Or pan fry them and serve them up with goldenberry sauce.
My recommendation if you want something good with syrup, get these cookies. If you get them from a farm that obtains syrup they’re even better.
I used to eat the same type of cookies a lot when I worked in a grocery store in a town. The cookies were locally made and they were something special.

Been curious about lobster for years.
Think shrimp but with a tougher chewier texture and a much higher price tag. They are worth it if you visit the coast, buy them fresh, and steam them up yourself. Otherwise, not so much.

The chinks cook snake with a heavy high broth loaded with chicken and pork.
I had that a few times when I was in China during my younger years. It was ok, a rung higher than the soft-shelled turtle soup.

There is *sometimes*, some supermarket chains will do country-week during which they sell stuff that's associated with the country the week is about. One sold it during American week but the quality and taste were shit sadly which is the norm with these -week promos. I've looked into getting some online or through a delicatessen store but for what you're getting it's so stupidly expensive.

At the moment where I'm living doesn't really accommodate gardening. Each year I have some smaller plants like cucumber, rocket, tomatoes and some herbs on the balcony but that's already stretching it for space. Real shame because I adore doing it.

There are a 1000 and 1 ways to make biscuits and gravy, usually you want a dry outside with kind of chewy inside and flakey and layers that pull apart for your biscuits. Your gravy should be very thick and buttery borderline extremely salty. That’s the traditional southern style. But people even used to make gravy out of coffee so do with that info as you like.

That’s on my list too, it doesn’t seem too hard because all it is is cutting veggies thin.

The middle left looks like slobbermutt.
Also I made this into reality

I've made the gravy which I really like, just a bechamel with lots of pepper and salt. Made the biscuits with a non buttermilk recipe from the basics with Babish video and they just tasted like non sweet scones. I want to try the flakey style biscuits. The shops here don't sell buttermilk though. Maybe I made it right and it's just not as good as I thought lol.

Do they sell pillsbury tubes? It’s not 1-1 but you can make some pretty decent biscuits need be.

I want to eat that berry that makes your tastes flip. Celebrity breast milk sounds interesting as well but it's not a thing... Yet. The thing with the magic berry that gets me is when people eat extreme sour stuff, it may not taste sour with the berry but you'd still get oral irritation, would you not? I know I've gone ham on citric and malic acids before (because I love sour) and it fucks up my tongue eventually.

I'd love to try fresh durian, but I'm definitely not brave enough to buy a whole fruit & bring it home.
I tasted the little candies of them a chink from the work brought back with her. They tasted like onions and ambrosia custard mixed together.

I realy want to try a proper welsh rarebit. Its basically cheese on toast with a few bells and whistles added. It's got egg and beer and mustard and everything in it. Will probably make some sooner than later.
